ISLE OF MAN FERRY TERMINAL OLD & NEW | Liverpool Central Park Funding Newsflash
Вставка
- Опубліковано 13 жов 2024
- In this video we look at the changing docks of Liverpool, focusing especially on the Isle of Man Ferry Terminal, which opened in June 2024. On the way we cast an eye over the Central Docks development area and there is a newsflash about government funding from the project, which came through on the date of editing and publishing of this video. This redevelopment area is right next to the new Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock, due to open in 2025.
We check out the progress of the residential tower Patagonia Place, which is taking shape on Princes Dock. We look at the history of Princes Half Tide Dock and its forgotten role in ferry operations between Manchester and Dublin. I travelled on the B+I LIne ferry to and from Dublin and I recreate an even more distant memory, when I saw a nighttime view over Liverpool Docks for the first time as a small child.

This video has taken a long time to edit and upload. Many thanks for watching and commenting. One small error - the guys are riding scooters, not motorbikes!
Very informative video, and nicely put together. - I'll be binge-watching your other videos.
Many thanks for your great comments. I remember a time when I used to binge watch, but now I’m too busy making my own videos!
Another cracking video with lots of atmospheric footage. Enjoy your manc videos too although I wish there was more going on in Liverpool for you to document.
Thanks that’s great. The docks are atmospheric, glad that came across. There are some developments in progress in Liverpool, I’ll be featuring them.
Another excellent video, Aidan. I made the journey to the Isle of Man when I was a child in 1974 when we were holidaying in Llandudno, Wales. I don't remember which terminal we left from but now I'm assuming it was the Liverpool terminal.
Thanks, was there a ferry to the IOM then from Llandudno? There was! greatorme.org.uk/manx
Many thanks as always for your positive words!
@@AidanEyewitness Ahhhh. Thanks or that!
Excellent video thanks.
Thanks for the positive feedback!
Nice & comprehensive. I'm seeing the iom terminal next month on my way from iom to Manchester. Still the same crappy ferry! Wait till winter to go to iom when you can sample the new ferry which is gorgeous. Most visitors won't get to use it as it goes from Heysham all the time, a port completely useless for foot passengers.
I’ll definitely look out for the new ferry many thanks!
Enjoyable content as usual. Informative and well edited
Many thanks for that. For some reason it took me a bloody long time to edit it all and I had many mishaps along the way which cost me time! So I’m glad you appreciate the editing.
another fantastic video, cheers Aidan good work
That’s brilliant, thanks for your great feedback. It gives me great encouragement.
Shockingly slow progress on the waters.
Rachel Reeves in her first speech specifically mentioned Liverpool's _Central Docks._ In order to accelerate planning. The system is archaic.
It is, but the new funding should help to kickstart things. Let’s see if it does.
Why still no Vauxhall Station plan ? Sorley this would get the redevelopment moving & big gap between Moorfields & Sandhills.
Look at London's Cannery Wharf, as soon as the DLR opened so people could actually get their easily its been booming ever since and billions of investment flooded in.
This is often a tricky issue: which comes first the infrastructure for the buildings? Planning and building a new station seems to take around 10 years these days, so maybe they need to start now!
Great video but shame we can't say the same about the progress made in Liverpool, it still looks like a run down area from the 1980's
Which area?
Yes, it’s true. Many parts of Liverpool do look rundown, but it’s a massive job regenerating all of it. Thanks for the positive feedback.
Boring ugly modern buildings
