Great video, brings back happy memories of visiting relatives in Peel back in the day, albeit the ferry crossing was on the previous Ben-My-Chree and taken about 4-5 hours on a calm irish sea!
Irish Ferries have the Dublin Swift Fast Ferry between Holyhead to Dublin and its like the Mannannan - I dislike the fast ferry crossing as the ride is too rough, even in calm seas, even in the Club Class Lounge and if there is rough weather, it’s more likely to get cancelled - my favourite ferry by far is the Irish Ferries Ulysses or the Stena Adventurer and I always use the Club Class Lounge or the Stena Plus Lounge where possible
Sounds like prison to me. One case and the witch shuts down the country. In time people will look back on this generation as the most docile in history.
Many thanks for a wonderful video. That's exactly like it is on The Manannan. When we sailed, the Purser's office were kindly dishing out the parking dials for free and explained the rules about having to reverse into "herringbone" parking spaces on the island. No speed limits out of towns and villages. Fastest taxi ride ever from Kirk Michael to Peel to sample local beers whilst staying with our Manx rellies. Thanks again for bringing the great memories back.
Andy, please don’t fall into the no speed limit trap, speed limits appear out of nowhere on the island. Lots of places to put your foot down but watch out for adverse cambers, ready to catch you out. And if you are having some fun at speed a police officer can still have you for inappropriate speed or excessive speed. Lots of live stock on the roads and Manx drivers. Best I ever heard was from one of my drivers in Tyndall Street after coming head to head with a lady from the north of the island, he pointed out that it was a one way street, she replied “I am only going one way i am from Andreas”. Sounds like a joke, it’s true. They also have a charge used at TTtime of furious riding.
Indeed so, ..I’m afraid I won’t be granted entry to IOM any longer, as I won’t be getting a QR code. I’ll be barred from supermarkets probably as well pretty soon. What a wonderful future we all have to look forward to.

Living in Manchester 23 years, I’ve done the SailRail via Chester, Crewe and Lladnuo to Dublin many times with Irish Ferries and Stena as a foot passenger via Holyhead and I’ve also done the overnight Coach with National Express & Eurolines, both summer and winter, daytime and overnight - I’d love for Isle Of Man ferries to do direct crossings to Dublin from Liverpool’s new terminal, as sailing direct from Liverpool would be less tiring than the journey from Manchester to Holyhead and on balance, this is especially true on the overnight coaches via Birmingham - I used to get the 880 coach from Leeds via Manchester and Holyhead to Dublin and this coach actually used to pass through Liverpool

I remember sailing on the car ferry from Adrossan (Scotland) to Douglas when I was a bairn and the cars were lifted on and off the ferry by crane. The ships didn't have stabilisers either so they rolled a bit.
I worked on the Ardrossan -Belfast ferry way back in 1957. The MV Irish Coast did have stabilisers. They only give comfort to passengers and really don’t make much of a difference. They can not be used in bad weather!
