    Great set up that the manufacturers should adopt! Please show how you connected the two fuel lines to the same tank. Thank you.

      @@alexmouzas I have to take the back deck off to change the main fuel tank filter. I’ll make a video when I do this in the spring and show how the fuel is connected . Thanks for watching and stopping by! Cheers.

    Nice setup Mike 👍🏻. My father-in-law had a Princecraft 167 with a 60hp Merc and a 9.9 Merc for trolling. Nice spot and looks like a big lake 😳. Have a great weekend 👍🏻🙋🏼‍♂🙂🇨🇦

    Thank you for your video. How soon shall I push the choke back in the very first start pls?😅

    • @maintenancewithmike
      @maintenancewithmike  22 дні тому +1

      @@rubyli1739 I’d say about 5 seconds after start up you can add a little bit of throttle and start to ease the choke off. I let it warm up for a good few minutes at idle or slightly above idle using the throttle. Always bring it all the way back to idle before putting it in gear.
      Thanks for watching! Cheers, Mike

    Nice! Do you lift the big engine up to reduce drag?

      I could I guess but I don’t bother, not going to break and speed records with 6HP. Lol.

    Great videos Mike! Do you have a video on how your second fuel line is setup to go to your kicker?

    • @maintenancewithmike
      @maintenancewithmike  7 місяців тому

      Hey thanks for subscribing! I don’t have a video on the fuel connection because each application seamed different and didn’t know if it would be useful information for many. For example I put in a Sierra filter wanting to connect both motors to that filter. The big motor ran fine but the little motor would run out of fuel. What I can tell you if you go this route is the line out of the sierra filter that goes to the kicker motor needs to have an anti- syphon valve in line or it won’t continue to draw fuel. Let me know if this helps. Next time I have the back deck off to change the filter I could put together a quick video for my specific application. Cheers, Mike.

    Hello. What are you using to control the throttle? Is it a controllking?

      @@couellette08 hello and thanks for stopping by! I built my own setup as the off shelf systems were very expensive and hard to find.

    Does this motor shake a lot? Wondering if it shakes your rod tips when you’re trolling.

    • @maintenancewithmike
      @maintenancewithmike  8 місяців тому

      Not really we troll at 1.8 mph and up for rainbow At that speed there is a fairly Decent load at the tip already so you will see the strike and hear the spool run. Great question. Anything else?

      Nice! You will love it. Sips fuel and can be connected to main tank or the one litre tank built in. Will this be your trolling motor? Are you going to connect it to a main motor for helm steering?

    I see a padlock on the mount. Please tell me the motor is secured to the boat by this or by a cable. I used to live in Northern BC on an island with boat access only and you'd be surprised how often I 'd hear of someone losing an outboard into the deep because it wasn't secured. The clamps just don't do it. I will enter into a full-time deep prayer on this until I hear back from you. ha Ha Ha

    • @maintenancewithmike
      @maintenancewithmike  11 місяців тому +1

      You’re absolutely correct but I have both. The handles are padlock and a stainless cable runs through the motor handle and is secured on the inside of the transum to the shipping u bolt. 😉
      This is good for thieves and accidents!
      Thanks for asking and watching!
