  • they are almost brand new but still require some good love and care.
    I started out by cleaning with saddle soap, then Saphir Cordovan Tan cream, buff with cotton shirt, horsehair brush and proceed with mirrorshining the toebox and heel counter with black Saphir Mirror Gloss and neutral Pate de Luxe

    Glad the black mirror gloss can be used for the patina look. I have some already for my black park avenues so no need for more. Just some tan cream and prolly that pat deluxe and I’m good to go. Great visit

    one has to be workless to follow this lengthy process. howver good video. If one has products of Saphir, it is obvious they will result fine.

    What's the process to getting that walnut to develop the unique patina... Is it the black saphir mirror gloss + h20 process...

    Great video, quick question. I've noticed in the 2 or 3 of your videos I've watched you're always using the cordovan cream; I know in the other videos the shoes were shell of course, but are these? If they're not shell, is there still a reason to use the cordovan saphir cream over the pommadier? Annnd if they're all shell shoes, I suppose it's self explanatory, but yeah. Thank you for your time, and for the video!

      Cordovan cream works fine for calf skin, I think during this video this was the online colored cream I had for this color :D

    Two questions: 1. Where do you get one of those water bottles? I've seen them in other shoe videos, and I'd like one.
    2. Please confirm that you used black polish on the toebox and heel? On the tan leather?

    • @newinspiration2108
      @newinspiration2108  6 років тому +1

      the water dispenser is IPA conical dispenser
      yes, black polish to add depth and burnished effect to the shine

    So you use a colored Mirror Gloss and a neutral Pate deluxe? When would you use the neutral Mirror Gloss and colored Pate? Ever? I am about to buy some Saphir polishes and torn on which to get.

    Hi
    I have the same shoes but in Dark Chili
    What "cleaning" products would you recommend?

    • @newinspiration2108
      @newinspiration2108  5 років тому

      dark chili is a good strong finish, any gentle leather clean and saddle soap will work

    • @markbillones8927
      @markbillones8927 5 років тому

      So a Saphir Soap, Saphir conditioner, Saphir Mirror Polish wax in those steps?

    • @trentpotter1889
      @trentpotter1889 5 років тому +2

      Mark Billones It really depends upon the condition of your shoes. I’m a shoe cobbler by trade and shine thousands of shoes. We also sell all of the Saphir products on our website www.potterandsons.com. You only need saddle soap every once in a while if your shoes are dirty or have build-up. The Saphir Renomat is also a good product if you need to strip off old buildup on your shoes. The products I would recommend are the Saphir Renovateur, Saphir Pommadier cream, and a Saphir MDO wax. I have several pairs of Allen Edmonds myself, and once they get the treatment with these three products, I primarily follow-up every couple of weeks with just the creams to cover up any scuffs and to bring back any lost shine.

    Nicely done with one exception. You missed the toe end of the sole on both shoes with the Saphir Mirror Gloss for sole edge and heel treatment. And on my birthday no less. ;-)
    Absolutely B-E-A-utiful shoes!

    Please keep the videos coming, very much enjoy them. Any tips on cleaning/conditioning suede?

    • @newinspiration2108
      @newinspiration2108  6 років тому

      suede is actually the easiest to take care of and the most rugged against the elements.
      brush them with brass brush/suede brush, if there's any stain marks then sand it with 150/220 grit sandpaper, run the whole shoes over a candlelight to burn off any frayed debris, apply waterproof spray and you're good to go

    • @newinspiration2108
      @newinspiration2108  6 років тому

      for cleaning, I like using hand soap/water mixture to clean, use an old toothbrush to foam it up on the suede then wipe clean and brush with pure water, let dry.

      I know this is a year old, but I ran into the same problem, I just recently purchased one off amazon I'm quite pleased with, search "Japan Hobby Tool Liquid Dispenser" and it should pull up. It's originally for cleaning camera lenses.

    You do a great job polishing those shoes everytime...Does it matter if one uses a Neutral Mirror Gloss or a Black one?

    • @newinspiration2108
      @newinspiration2108  6 років тому +1

      not really, Black adds depth and burnished effect, Neutral does not add any color of effect; it all depends on what you like and want to achieve

      vasacci ule boy it is water, just a small drop of it is enough to wax the shoes and the dispenser helps

      Scott's Corner of Fun and Exploration I doubt many people will rewind it back to the start to remember what the shoe looked like at the start. It was just a suggestion anyway

      @newinspiration2108  6 років тому

      May I ask which "clear material" were you asking about?

    • @ref1235
      @ref1235 6 років тому

      its in a round tin and its white or clear, it is not the polish color

    • @newinspiration2108
      @newinspiration2108  6 років тому +4

      I used 3 tins - first was Fiebing's saddle soap, second was Saphir black mirror gloss, third was Saphir neutral Pate de Luxe wax.
      hope I've answered your question?
