A lot of you may think that having strong restrictions on guns may be worthless, but Australias last mass shooting was in 1996 and right after that event our government decided to put VERY strong restrictions on guns and we haven't had a mass shooting since. I was just in Alabama for a school trip and no one from my school had ever seen a gun being carried by anyone other than a law enforcement officer, and we saw a normal everyday man who was carrying a gun and it scared the shit out of us. yes i know that a lot of you will say that the gun dosent kill people, people kill people, but guns are the fastest and easiest way to kill a lot of people in a short amount of time.

The home he was speaking of was the home where women had very few rights or choices, where a little moderate beating of wives and children was acceptable. And undermining faith in god would probably be one of the best things that could happen in America. And while I would accept that a certain level of respect and decorum for authority should be a default position, to maintain that, the authorities must EARN our respect, and many of them have been shown to deserve no respect. And our Constitution should not be "revered". It should be respected for what it is - an excellent foundation for governance, written but smart, but imperfect men - as demonstrated by the fact that it had to be amended 17 times since it was ratified. THAT is the true genius of the Constitution - the men who wrote it didn't WANT is to be revered as some sort of inviolable scripture, but left it to future generations to change as needed as times change and perhaps we gain a bit of wisdom, or at least perspective that they might (through no fault of their own) have lacked. They gave us the best guiding principles they could, like good parents, but in the end, the children have to be trusted to make their own decisions, and hopefully to trust the parents enough not to ignore their advice lightly.

Gun laws don't automatically mean all guns will be taken away from every person. It's about things like better background checks, better storage and safe keeping of guns, limitations on the type of gun normal citizens are allowed to own and where you can carry a gun! I'm from Germany, we have decent gun laws (even if they are still not strict enough in my opinion) and we had 1 or 2 mass shootings over the last years while America had 20 shootings in the last 2 years alone!! Find the difference!!

I don't understand nationalism but for the first time I can say that I am proud to be German and that we managed to help so many people that feared for their lives and fled Islamic terror themselves. I am proud that the vast majority of people welcomed the refugees, helped, volunteered or donated and that the situation didn't end in complete chaos. Many things still have to be figured out but regarding the challenge Germany did a great job.

I totally agree and feel same way! I'm from London too and I've been living in this county since I was 7. I still can't understand the tradition and accessibility to guns in this country. I'm a dual citizen. This county needs desperate action, CONGRESS MUST ACT. We must all come together and help each other. Prayers are good but it's not enough. Repeating wrongful things,actions, and ideals are just insanity. The insanity must stop. EVERYONE PLEASE PRAY FOR AMERICA, & THE WORLD. Rest In Peace to those that have passed. I pray and beg for comfort for all of those people's families and friends that has been affected by this tragedy and many other tragedies that have happened in America and across the world.God bless us all

Now guns are banned outright even for most police units but there are still shootings and a high rate of stabbings.
Lets take a step away form what you think congress MUST do and take a step towards what you MUST do and thats educate yourself on the history of violence here and in your country.

I live in Mexico and fortunately I did not suffer the catastrophe, but thanks to the support of people and other countries we were able to get ahead. Believe me, people in that kind of circumstances in what they least think is what is happening on the internet, but in moving forward. The comment was with the intention of making a "small" support, I do not say that I will change what happened, and unfortunately I can not go and donate blood for them since I live in another country, but at least that little prayer will help them know that they are not alone.
And, yes, we must be united in an attempt to prevent such painful tragedies from occurring. :(

Beautiful, beautiful speech. I’m so proud of how far James has come, he’s truly a wonderful man and his team are skilled. He’s right in what he’s saying and he saying it respectfully.
