To Jimmy, and to whoever else reads this, I simply have to mention this. It's been haunting me for years and I've never really spoken about it. My youngest sister was at that show. She flew from California to Las Vegas specifically to attend this concert, along with her long time boyfriend as well as some friends. Before the concert started, while it was still daylight outside, she had posted several photos on facebook from the show. They were all sitting on the grass and having a great time. I had never really been a big fan of country music, so being her big brother and seeing those pictures , I had commented on those posts giving her crap about being there and trying to be funny or something and joke around. That's what big brothers do most of the time to their siblings I guess. Maybe it's just us. I don't know. We've just always been like that. We've just always given each other a hard time kidding each other. I didn't think about it again that night and went to bed feeling that my job as her big brother was done for the day. Living about 3 time zones away to the east, I was sound asleep already. I received a terrifying phone call in the middle of the night telling me what had happened. None of my family could reach her. Being so far away, I couldn't do anything at all but cry, pray, and wait for a call from her, someone, anyone to let me know that she had made it out alive. I finally got that call about an hour and a half later. She was alive. One of her friends (sitting exactly beside her) was hit by a bullet. After being in surgery for quite a while, she came through as well. I dropped to my knees and thanked God. I thank the brave men and women who had run directly INTO danger to help who they could, and did their best to save those who didn't make it out. I grieve, and my heart breaks, for the families and loved ones of those that didn't. Just remember that all of us who have experienced loss, we will all meet again someday. I look forward to meeting all of your loved ones, as I am looking forward to reuniting with mine. May God bless you all, and thank you for all of the heartfelt words of comfort and love, Jimmy....

Dire circumstances where one human sacrifices-for and/or saves another, people who've been down reacting to large ovations or approval in general like in singing auditions, unexpected/unlikely generosity plus the shock/gratitude of the one in need, and even bad things might make me cry such as witnessing/sharing in another's grief. I remember watching this on the news here in alberta Canada and we just couldnt imagine this happening and the fact we were in Vegas years before was scary. Wanted to let people know that canadians were thinking of you at that time too!
