Jon Nodveidt had this great gift of making guitars sound like entire orchestras. I don't know what most fans have against Reinkaos but I personally adored the record.
So do I! But I do have friends that hate it.. None ever given me a straight up answer, but it's something about loyalty, Burzum, history.. But love it! The DVD was with excellent sound and all you can eat! ;)
Probably because reinkaos is more of a melodic death metal record and the fans liked the BM style more. Plus they hadn’t come out with an album in ages so fans would be expecting another Thorns of Crimson Death or Where Dead Angels Lie but instead got a good but ultimately “okay” release when compared to better melodeath acts.
I personally believe that Reinkaos it's the most intimate album of Jon, he provide us the ideology he believed in, an iconic way to leave the earth with his legacy.
Maha Kali also known as Kālikā in Sanskrit language is an Indian Goddess of Destruction of Evil Forces, the real process of worshipping Kali is still dark one and taboo. I liked the riff very much. Love frm INDIA 🇮🇳
@deathwish IV @deathwish IV It's very complicated. I mean way too complicated. There are two types of worshipers of Maa Kali. One is the Bhabatarini form which usually deals with her silent form. But it's the other form of Maa kali that is being discussed here. It is called Maha kali. Not everyone has the right to worship maha kali. There are selected people who can actually worship her. And let me tell u this process is way complicated. The worship usually occurs at night and goes on the whole night for whole 7 hours. I'm not kidding this goes on for 7 hours and the priest has to chant mantras nonstop. The main part of the worship of Maha Kali is however a little gross if you look at it but it happens. A goat is sacrificed in front of her and the blood is offered to her. Then the following worship continues till dawn. It's the most complicated and one of the most toughest worship I've ever seen in my life. And maha kali is usually a symbol of fear and death amongst people. Back in the days Dacoits in Bengal used to Worship Maha kali and offer human sacrifice before robbing a house. These specific Maha Kalis were named Dakate Kali meaning the Kali of the Dacoits. I know it sounds crazy but this is how it's done
@@jocaa666 Yup. That's metal as hell. But I have personally witnessed it in front of my own eyes so it's kinda gross ngl. Anyway that's absolutely metal

Just goes to show what a great composer Jon was. His music had such a way of moving not only forwards but also side to side: thank for the beautiful rendition!!!!!!
This music is a masterpiece, and this video is an amazing way of showing how true this is. The prejudice with the lyrics and the band sometimes masks how genius was Jon.
Bloody hell mate every time I think you've reached the top you pull out yet another belter. Absolutely top notch bro, seriously Love the time of that guitar, beautiful

This analysis is done by a greek guy I guess, but is accurate. If you want to know about all the other songs of the album, google "Dissecting Dissections' Reinkaos" This song is dedicated to Kali, the Hindu goddess of death, destruction, time, transformation and liberation. Her common image shows her as having four arms, but in her Maha Kali ("Great Kali") form she has ten arms, ten legs and ten faces. ------------------------------------------------------------ "Maha Kali, dark mother dance for me" In the Devi Mahatmya, Kali consumes the demon Raktabija and all his duplicates, and then dances on their bodies. She dances in ecstasy and is out of control. Shiva, her consort, fearing that she would not stop until she destroyed the world, lay down on the battlefield and she stepped on him. Kali realized that she had gone too far, and calmed down. "Let the purity of your nakedness awaken me" Kali's nakedness is very often mistaken by Westerners to represent sexuality. However, this line gets it perfectly right: her nakedness - just like her free, long hair - is a symbol of purity, because Kali represents the ultimate Truth (Brahman), Nature or "the way things are". "Yours are the fires of deliverance which shall bring me bliss Yours is the cruel sword which shall set my spirit free" Kali's fires are the fires of cremation grounds, and her sword represents the severing of ignorance and ego. "Devourer of life and death who rule beyond time In thy name I shall fulfil my destiny divine Maha Kali, formless one, destroyer of illusion Your songs forever sung, the tunes of dissolution" In the Mahanirvana-tantra, Shiva praises Kali: "[...]Thou art the Origin of and devourest all things[...]" "Re-assuming after Dissolution Thine own form, dark and formless, Thou alone remainest as One ineffable and inconceivable. Though having a form, yet art Thou formless[...]" "Kalika, black tongue of fire, embrace me" Kali appears in the Mundaka Upanishad as the black tongue of the seven flickering tongues of Agni, the Hindu god of fire. "Jai Kalika! Jai Kali!" "Jai" means "Glory to" or "Hail" in Hindi, and Kalika is another name for Kali, meaning "the black one". "Smashana Kali, I burn myself for thee" "Smashana Kali" means "Kali of the Cremation Ground", so it makes sense to call her that when one "burns" oneself. "O dark mother, hear me calling thee Mahapralaya, bring to me Through all illusions I shall see I shall cremate this world and set my essence free" As I mentioned in the comment on Starless Aeon, Mahapralaya is the Great Dissolution where all 14 realms (10 lower realms and 4 higher realms) are destroyed. Therefore, in this verse Kali is requested to bring The End. "O Kali, thou art fond of cremation grounds So I have turned my heart into one, that thou may dance there unceasingly. O mother, I have no other fond desire in my heart. Fire of a funeral pyre is burning there." This text was taken verbatim from the Devotional Songs of Rama Prasada (Ram Prasad). "Jai Maha Kali, Jai Ma Kalika [x2] Kali Mata, namo nama [x2]" The prefix "Ma" and the suffix "Mata" both mean "Mother". "Namo namah" means "We bow/salute to thee" in Sanskrit (repeated twice in honor). "Jai Kalika! Jai Kali! At your left hand for endless victory Maha Kali, come to me" Kali has (at least) two left hands. The object that consistently appears at one of her left hands is the severed head, and not her sword (images of Kali in her terrible form put the sword at her upper right hand). So in this verse Kali is requested to bring forth the microchaos, whereas in the next one: Jai Kalika! Jai Kali! Mahapralaya will set our spirits free Maha Kali, come to me She is asked to bring forth the macrochaos. Way to end an album.
What I do when I play this on acoustic is to play more octaves and fifths than normal. Since I can't play the harmonies and melodies single handedly, it makes it sound more full. For example, the harmony right before the first verse. I'll play the notes I believe Jon would play, but then I'm also playing with the open E in the bass, doing that chugging rythm. When I go to the B, I do that chugging on the open A. It just fills it in a little bit

Its the magic of harmonizing in thirds. Jesper Stromblad and Glenn Ljungstrom together were masters of it as well.
