❤❤❤We being Scottish watched Rikki faithfully every New Year. No matter where we were, we made sure that we were home for Scotch Rhy. Thank you Rikki I'm sure your with your precious wife in heaven. I will always love and adore you. You were the tonic Scotland needed.❤❤❤❤❤
Absolutely loved this, Hilarious 🤣🤣🤣 where dae ye get yer watter fae 🤣🤣🤣 Absolutely brilliant, one of funniest things I've ever seen 🤣🤣🤣 RIP Rikki Fulton 🙏🙏 I'm from Scotland 🏴
A masterclass. At its height, "Scotch and Wry" had viewing figures of more than half of Scotland, and in a tribute to Rikki Fulton, the Director of BBC Scotland - on learning of his death - said that such figures would never be equalled; for Scotland, Hogmanay WAS Rikki Fulton.
Sometimes humor doesn't always hold its value but that could never be said about this lovely, man. He's a genius & one of the best writers/comedy actors we have ever produced. Thank u Rikki!
My dad, God rest his soul, would roar at this. A Scots Irish Catholic, who like the rest of the young population would turn off such late night sanctomy, he couldn't believe what seeing when it first aired. What a gem of a comedian .
Remember Rikki and Gregor in the 70s. This little diamond is a masterclass in character acting - utterly believable and stone dead, perfect comic timing. Lovely man - hugely under-recognised, hugely missed.
I'm a brummie roman Catholic and I have to admit that I have seen the local Catholic parish Priest in my mammy's house at around 10pm after he had just visited a few more of his parishioners and he had a "wee drink in each house " he was totally banjaxed by the time that he arrived at our house
I would have to say that this is the funniest sketch I've ever seen. I saw it when first aired and I still laugh out loud. Absolute comic genius. Thank whoever for you tube, for so many years I waited to see it again pre internet.
came across videos of rikki fulton by pure chance a few months ago and i'm so glad I did, the tears i've dropped due to laughter at this man. An absolute genius at what he did. RIP Rikki
Every year at Hogmanay in our house out come the Scotch n Wry DVDs :) The rubbish you get on telly now just can't compare. Even watching it on god knows how many repeats it still has us crying with laughter.
Johnny Mac does a brilliant solo version of this sketch as part of the Francie And Josie tribute Pure Neuralgia, with Liam Dolan as Francie, and Johnny himself as Josie
Just braw, I first saw this when I was about 8 when it came out. Great poke at the weary willies that did the religious spot on the telly of an evening. Still have a good chortle at this now.
Old granny Henderson Teandalloch Cottage, many New Years ago Would have a wee sherry 🍶 🍷 Topped up with Lemonade (locally made..) And as the sherry was being topped up, she was getting more legless, it was 100% proof clear whisky 🥃, from the local Distillery in Muir of Ord, that was in the lemonade bottle She wasn't complaining..
You’ll remember what Duteronomy said to Leviticus about exodus. Memories of sitting in mass not having a clue what they were all on about as a wean🤣…funniest man ever. Rip Rikki❤️
You have to be a certain age to appreciate this. First off you have to remember the Minister at the end of the day on TV, otherwise it has no connection to nowadays.
This is a parody of what Scots people had to endure at the end of the night before the television programmes ended. Before the advent of all night television the programmes ceased at 12 o'clock unless it was a Friday when a horror film would be shown. Rikki's parody is all too real and immensely funny
Before STV's epilogues finally ceased around 1990 it saw fit to inflict not just one, but two of them on viewers - Morning Call at 9.50am and Evening Call at 10.35pm.
I know a minister who loves this.
New Year was never the same when Rikki Fulton retired.
I have watched this so many times, and it never gets old. An absolute genius. Always tears of laughter. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
❤❤❤We being Scottish watched Rikki faithfully every New Year. No matter where we were, we made sure that we were home for Scotch Rhy.

Glad this is still kicking around. This comedy genius always made Hogmanay worthwhile for me.
Much missed, there will never be another as good as Rikki.
I watch this all the time, it's a great feeling good factor lolx
My grandweans are laughing like furniture lol x
Put him back on the telly, if you can get re-runs of everybody else, why not Ricky Fulton last thing at night, does anyone agree with me x.
Sometimes humor doesn't always hold its value but that could never be said about this lovely, man. He's a genius & one of the best writers/comedy actors we have ever produced. Thank u Rikki!
The More the drink kicks in, the More Glaswegian he becomes. Fulton was Hysterical.

Used to watch this with my dad, you don't get comedy like this anymore. His facial expressions alone had you in stitches.
Sheer genius writing from rikki fulton and not a swear word of crude humour in sight ....genius
Best piece of acting of a drunk I've ever seen, specially in such a short time frame
My dad, God rest his soul, would roar at this. A Scots Irish Catholic, who like the rest of the young population would turn off such late night sanctomy, he couldn't believe what seeing when it first aired. What a gem of a comedian .
My mum would too man. She would absolute piss her pants watching this every Hogmanay. Brilliant memories. Rest well to your father. You too ma.x

The Flower of Scotland - when will we see, Rikki Fulton again? That Rab C fought and died for ...,.
Rikki Fulton, comedy legend. That drunk burp he does has never been matched by anyone ever. "Booiiiiiiiiiikkkkk......."
I'm a brummie roman Catholic and I have to admit that I have seen the local Catholic parish Priest in my mammy's house at around 10pm after he had just visited a few more of his parishioners and he had a "wee drink in each house " he was totally banjaxed by the time that he arrived at our house

Every year at Hogmanay in our house out come the Scotch n Wry DVDs :) The rubbish you get on telly now just can't compare. Even watching it on god knows how many repeats it still has us crying with laughter.

Endured!! Man was a genius
Brilliant!
Not many could go from stone-cold sober to falling-down drunk within a few minutes and make it plausible.
Pure classic comedy seen it so many times just gets funnier and funnier 😂
Yorkshireman here. Why weren't we treated to this south of Hadrian's wall? The guy was a comic genius!
It’s only been declassified for the English and Welsh fairly recently.
This man was & is a class act RIP Rikki
Just braw, I first saw this when I was about 8 when it came out. Great poke at the weary willies that did the religious spot on the telly of an evening. Still have a good chortle at this now.

You can see who several well known Scottish comic actors modelled their drunk character on. Rikki was the template.
Love this ❤

You'll remember what Deuteronomy said to Leviticus about Exodus...er...so if you remember there's no point bringing that up again 😅
4:05 haha lol 😂
I wonder what happened to that iconic chair.
Was this all done in the one shot ? No camera changes ... One take I'll bet .. The finest comedic talent
Yes, it was all done in one go. Rikki was known as One-Take Fulton as he never needed to do retakes.
It soon became clear that Sammy was in the boot 🤣
was on the booze...

It was the same here in Ireland and its spot on
Yep it was called late call on tv Scottish television stv
@@robertbiggins3693 It was actually called "Late Call?" So... now I where this brilliant idea comes from!
Late Call was simply reasons why it’s good to be Scottish and Protestant. Still a good thing 😅😂
Before STV's epilogues finally ceased around 1990 it saw fit to inflict not just one, but two of them on viewers - Morning Call at 9.50am and Evening Call at 10.35pm.
Was Johnny Carson available in the OK back then?
He could certainly give Foster Brooks a run for his money!
Opperchancity 😂
