    Never ever again will we see comic genius quite as amazing as the 2 Ronnie's.. Watching them work on a sketch is art.. It truly is. How well their chemistry is displayed is beautiful, everything in this sketch is absolutely flawless, the lines are delivered and flow through with pin point timing and accuracy. An absolute joy to watch the 2 greatest comedy icons in history ❤️👌

    Comedy genius unsurpassed. They played and bounced off each other so effortlessly and brilliantly, with impeccable timing. The writing is just so tight too. Such fond memories and nostalgia of growing up with British talent and shows like this, throughout the 70s and 80s.

      I'm Portuguese but I lived in London from 1969-1990, I watched great British Comedy all this time, to this day as a 63 year old there is nothing as good or ever will be as this, even in my own country comedy is of very low standard compared to British comedy.

    Absolutely brilliant! Now come on all you folk who thinks this sketch is racist because it's picking on the Irish, nothing could be further from the truth. It's a very clever sketch twisting the English language and most of the humour comes from the fact that these two guys seem to understand each other...whatever their race may be.
    Ronnie Barker in particular was a master of the spoonerism 😂😂

    my Irish husband simply ADORES this sketch. he says it has more than a touch of Flann O'Brien about it...though it's sad, to say the least, that British tv would refuse to transmit such a skit today. "It's offensive to the Irish", they'd say - having not taken the trouble to ask a single Irish man/woman if they actually find it offensive

    Ronnie Corbett playing the barman is trying a Northern Irish accent, with Ronnie Barker trying a bland typical Southern Irish accent.

    • @RobertBarrett-e6q
      @RobertBarrett-e6q 4 місяці тому

      There is no such thing as a "typical" Irish accent anywhere in Ireland and by "Southern Irish" you must mean Cork, Kerry or Waterford and he doesn't sound anything like anyone I've ever met from any of those counties and I'm from one of them.

    I'm Irish but find this sketch funny. The accents are shite though. The two Ronnies were brilliant. They wouldn't be allowed to do this sketch today because BBC would be scared of the easily triggered brigade. Rip Two Ronnie's.

      easily triggered by doing fake Irish accents? Gimme a break man, cancel culture sucks but it definitely doesn't cancel people because they put on an Irish accent badly.
