  • I hope this video will somehow be helpful and give you an idea of what it's like having a cat with stage 4 Lymphoma. Every animal is different, so what Kiara went through and still experiences may be different compared to your pet. This video is in no way supposed to be a way for you to diagnose your pet with Lymphoma if you're worried about their health they should be taken in for a check up.
    I hope you all have a wonderful Friday!

      I'm so sorry for both of you for losing your cats. There's something very wrong when kittens get cancer! I have heard that it's absolutely exploding in cats, and so I know that there is something so I know that there is something in the food. I spoke to a homeopathic practitioner in Australia last night and she said all cats should be on raw meat their main diet and that can cure the cancer, but for me I think it's too late because she's not eating right now.

      @@Savannah-ed4rvnonsense. WASVA foods are subjected to scientific rigor. Food is not responsible for that. And the fact that you say you know is quite outrageous. You can’t know. They have been studying feline cancer for such a long time and they cannot pin down one single cause. But the UA-cam keyboard warrior can. So typical. And of course you went on to mention homeopathy. Quack.

    My cat passed away 3 months ago because of lymphoma . Nobody knew it was cancer and he was treated for cat flu because of his nasal congestion . I'm heart broken . Vets tried to save him in the hospital by removing fluid from his lungs but cancer was already in his other organs. He was waiting for chemo but he died of cardiac arrest in the hospital . It was the hardest time in my life and I feel so sorry for all of you going through same process as I did .
    Sending you All love❤

    My 12 year old fur baby, Jaina, had some biopsies taken a couple of weeks ago and yesterday I received the call I hoped I wouldn't. The results were GI lymphoma and she predicted a 4-6 month life expectancy. She has a vet appointment today and we are going to go over possible treatments and weigh the pros and cons of everything and what will give her the best quality of life. I'm so happy Kiara has done so well and you've had many more years with her.

    Were three months into my cats diagnosis. He's 13 so I feel lucky compared to some of the ages in the comments. ☹️
    But he's sick. The vet used the term palliative care. 😥 He's on steroids and a sensitive food diet.

    I'm so happy that you have had your kitty for so long. My cat was diagnosed about six weeks ago and she's in terrible shape today. Emergency room where I took her gave me the prednisone but I didn't realize it was a treatment for the cancer so I didn't give it to her. I was worried about side effects and tried more natural things and it's been up and down this the best I can say. But the absolute worst thing that I did was to give her cerenia for her vomiting . Since I gave that to her she has been just very very sick . I finally got her to eating a little bit more again but today she didn't want to eat or drink. I just wish I could go back and change what I did because I think maybe it's too late for the prednisone to work. Probably go through a good long time of blaming myself if I lose her. 😢😢😢

    Hello! I love your story! I also have a 13 old baby named Kiara, but he's a male. We thought he was a girl at first, but the name had already stuck by the time we found out, so we kept it. He's the only of our four cats who answers by name. 🥺
    I just saw your memorial video and I'm sorry that your Kiara is no longer here, but I'm happy that she got five (!) more years of a happy life with you after the diagnosis. She was really blessed!
    Ours will go through a biopsy this week to confirm if what he has is IBD or lymphoma. He's been having diarrhea for about 2 months now and the worst part of it is that it usually gets his paws dirty and I have to clean him up multiple times a day. Today I decided to confine him to a separate room at night so I could finally get a full night of sleep. It broke my heart and I ended up crying myself to sleep because I'm so used to having him by my side at all times and I'm sure he was very sad as well, but it's what I need to do to ensure I have the energy to care about him during the day. I hope it's not lymphoma, but even if it is I'm hopeful that he can get better with treatment, because besides the constant diarrhea he's otherwise his usual happy self.

      It sounds like he’s in wonderful hands with you! I hope for the very best you both, animals can really surprise you with their determination to keep goin. 👍🏻 My Kiara only needed assistance with keeping herself clean for her last week as she didn’t have much energy. It’s a very difficult thing to watch your pets slowly decline in front of you, I’m sure Kiara knows how loved he is. I really hope you hear good results with the biopsy. ❤️

      @@ArielCulverson Biopsy results came in and confirmed small cell lymphoma. In the week following the surgery, he was on prednisolone which completely stopped his diarrhea and gave him solid stools. At some point I thought he was constipated. I have no idea why, but the prednisolone stopped working a week later. We're on the third week post surgery and we gave him his first two doses of chlorambucil, but he's still having 100% liquid diarrhea 4 to 6 times a day. He's surprisingly his usual happy self even with this condition, has a great appetite and is drinking lots of water. The only miserable part is having to clean him this many times every day so he will not dirty the furniture. I'll let you know if anything changes. 😿

      @@vitormartins800 I’m so deeply sorry to hear that, I’m glad though that he’s feeling well despite it. A true fighter. Is he stepping in his diarrhea after going? Or is he a long haired kitty? At one point Kiara wasn’t cleaning herself so I had to keep her fur shaven pretty short on her back end or else she constantly had litter and poop stuck to her butt.

      @@ArielCulverson His fur is short. It's just that when he's finishing his business, the "poo stream" (lol) kind of loses strength gradually and then hits his rear paws, like when you're closing a hose. It's hard to explain! Sometimes he also steps in it by accident when covering it with litter.

      I’m sorry to hear that. In my experience the first few weeks after diagnosis is usually the hardest, it can also be your kitties treatment that’s making her feel a little not herself, I’m just speaking from what I’ve went through with my kitties though. If you’re really worried definitely ask your vet about it just to make sure it’s all normal. Wishing you and your kitty the best possible outcome ❤️

    Your video was very helpful and sweet. I’m so disappointed in some Veterinarians (even if they are very nice) my vet told me on Wednesday that my 17year old cat had lymphoma based on her lymphocyte count. She didn’t give me a referral to oncologist because she didn’t think anyone would give chemo due to her age. I was just sent home with fluids and that I had to think about what to decide on (she meant euthanasia) ……. Only after UA-cam research did I discover prednisolone was an option! I wasted valuable time crying and trying to find new doctor. I’m waiting for ultrasound in 2 days, meanwhile force feeding and giving fluids because she might have hepatic lipidosis. 😢. Anyways, my baby girl ZsaZsa has always been a fighter, I’m hoping you can send a little prayer her way. Thank you for telling your story.

    • @ArielCulverson
      @ArielCulverson  7 місяців тому

      I’ve only heard stories of vets doing things like that, they should always suggest multiple ways to treat a pet, no matter the age. I’m so sorry you went through that, but I’m glad your baby is being treated now, I’ll keep her in my prayers for sure. ❤️

    • @e26586
      @e26586 7 місяців тому +1

      Yay! Guess what…. I gave her first dose of prednisone Monday night after the ultrasound, the next morning she was talking back to me (like normal) and walking around. She’s still tired naturally, she’s actively eating out of the syringe (she won’t eat enough by herself) As for the cancer… well, they said when they looked at the cells from lymph nodes they can’t definitively say it’s cancer even though it looks like it on ultrasound. The only way to truly diagnose it would be with a biopsy- which is dangerous because of anesthesia procedure. Anyways, it’s back to researching internet. Besides Prednisolone did you also give Kiara Chlorambucil? The doctor was mentioning it. Thank you for replying to me ❤-Charlene

      @@e26586 Oh that’s wonderful news!! 😀 Chlorambucil sounds familiar, it may have been a suggestion by Kiara’s vet but I don’t think we ever used it with her tbh, but if that’s what your vet thinks you should go with I’d definitely look into it. 👍🏻❤️

      @@lukadelirious3620 unfortunately we’re heartbroken …… ZsaZsa was originally doing good with the prednisolone, the doctor consulted with her oncologist friend (luckily for free) based on her labs, it looked like she had non Felv leukemia which apparently is rare in cats, chlorabucil wouldn’t have done anything. Then one month later her daddy Sabu, my favorite special boy cat passed away of something totally different. Then exactly 2 weeks later ZsaZsa passed away :( she was on the prednisolone for 9 weeks, (she had a 2 month prognosis) we did not choose euthanasia for any of the cats. I know that is a difficult decision, my cats were basically on hospice because I had time to be with them. There are some good articles on euthanasia and other stuff by the doctor who runs the site a peaceful ending at home. That helped me a lot, hope it’s info that could help you should you need it in the future. -Charlene …….
