Michael Ketterer stood on the stage in front of a panel of judges auditioning for America’s Got Talent. Michael’s wife Ivey, his daughter and his five sons stood in the wings as Michael sang a raw, soulful version of the Bee Gees’ To Love Somebody, but if you had described the scene to him years earlier, he never would’ve believed it.
“I definitely didn’t feel like we were qualified to have a child, especially me…As a matter of fact, when we found out [my wife was] pregnant, we both cried.”
Growing up without a consistent fatherly presence in his life, Michael didn’t have a clear vision for himself as a parent. After life-threatening complications during the birth of their daughter, Michael and Ivey made the decision not to have any more children, but they were introduced to the option of adopting through foster care by family friends. The idea made its way into their heads and hearts and dreams. Before they knew it, they had adopted five sons, each from a difficult background of abuse and neglect, and they were standing on the America’s Got Talent stage as a family of eight, listening to Michael sing his heart out just for them.
“It was just extremely special to get to perform a song to my children in front of the world, and I got to tell them how much I love them.”
Michael’s journey of fatherhood has taken him through more work, pain and challenge than he ever thought possible, but it’s also shown him more than he ever could’ve imagined about the love and care of God as a father in his own life.
“I’m not alone in this. My Father who’s been behind me, who has pushed me through so many struggles, He’s with me in this moment and we can do this together.”
I love Michael. He did such an amazing job. He 100% deserved that golden buzzer.

At AGT, even if you did not say it, everybody could perceive you belong to Jesus. It just pierces through your being...His light and love are manifest in your voice. What a testimony! So inspiring!

During my 30 years in various rungs of the Christian music industry, I have befriended 5 different musicians from Knoxville. 4 of the 5 know Michael Ketterer. They all, to a person, say the same thing. This dude is the REAL DEAL. Nothing you see on AGT is an exaggeration or a put on. What you see is what he is.
They need to clone this man because we need more men like this in the world!! He is so special!! Actually the whole family is totally amazing!! 💗💗💗

Having a child my own, so much work & patience but I do believe, the Lord provides their needs. It just really takes so much patience, love & care.
My wife and I have always wanted to adopt a child. After seeing Michael on AGT, I have not been able to stop thinking about adopting a child, bringing him/her into my home to become part of my family. Loving and caring and providing for a child who doesn't have that. I can't stop thinking about it.

Please hear me out. This isn’t an accident that you are here. You are not forced to believe in anything but look at the evidence in what the scripture say. Yes the “church” is not perfect but there are those like Michael that truly try his best to walk like Jesus. What you are seeing through Mr Ketterer are the fruits of what following Jesus really looks like. If you don’t believe than at least examine the Jesus you see in Michael.
But if you need other proofs in verifying what the gospel/bible says please seek below. I hope you care and search for the truth. You and many others even those that call themselves Christian are missing out on the potential of living life bigger than ourselves. The real Christian living is adventurous, spontaneous, and most fulfilling decision anyone can ever have. We were meant to be Sons of God-the creator of heaven and Earth and to manifest the Kingdom of Heaven into the physical world. Please don’t ignore or brush off what Michael was saying about the “demons” he encountered when he took the boys in. Continue to search and never stop looking for the truth all all things. I pray that your spiritual eyes will be open to God’s heart.

You don’t have to be on Church to be in a relationship with our father in heaven! Reach out in prayer! And ask Him into ur life as ur personal savior and lord. And watch the amazing life u have in Him! It will never be boring thats for sure !

Ask God to reveal himself to you. He's there, and his love is all encompassing - he loves you too!
Einstein later in life stated "It is unknowable if a higher power exist, I see Creation in all of the Universe, anyone who says they know for certain there is or is not a God is a fool". Although many claim Einstein was Atheist, he was not, he was open to the idea of a Creator or Supreme Being, he understood man's mind is too small to understand some things.
Kambo I strongly suggest reading a scholarly book on the historical Jesus , it'll change your perspective. Case For Christ by Lee strobel , former atheist is a great one . Amazon kindle for cheaper . I'll pray for you !

There always has and always will be a god and I pray one day you'll get to know him there is nothing better in this world than excepting the lord in your life it will never be the same again. After I was and baptized you feel free like you had a weigh on your shoulders and someone just freed you from it like your burdens have been lifted off of you and a like a big sense of relief has came over you no better feeling then you'll ever have felt before

I love this man and his story! I really hope he wins AGT and can use that platform to share the Gospel.
I have 11 children, 2 stepsons, 5 sons and 4 daughters. I was the baby of 5 children myself, and never wanted any kids as a young man. I was very selfish as a teenager, partying myself out of a college scholarship, and even choosing with my then girlfriend to abort my first child when she turned up pregnant the summer before I was to start college.
I am the most unlikely father of 11 you could ever meet. People often ask us many questions when we have 5 or 6 of our children with us when we go out ( we are older now with only 5 at home full time). All I can tell people is that I have had to grow into the role of parent of a dozen minus one, and that this lifestyle has forced me to change and be less selfish in many ways.
I have been so blessed to watch Michael's story on AGT. My wife and I are also worship leaders and ministers. It encourages me immensely to see him living out this dream.

My brother stayed at CHOC children’s hospital for 3 months where Michael works as a charge nurse. I can’t explain it but talking to Michael is like talking to Jesus,. He is the most warm hearted, kind and understanding person ived ever met. I didn’t even know he was on AGT. Lol. But all I know is that he is an amazing human being

I love this family so much. ♥️ 🙏 God does answer prayers and he does speak to us in this way. We just have to be open to it, trust, and listen. When my Dad was sick, I prayed the most earnest prayer I’ve ever prayed for anyone for him. I literally dropped to my knees at the foot of his bed one night and begged God to either help him or take him because he was suffering. He was suffering for us (his kids) and we knew that. My Dad died peacefully a week later with his kids, my mom, his sister and mother at his bedside at home. There’s much more to that story but my point is that God hears us and he answers our prayers. Maybe not the way we may expect at times, but he answers them in a way that’s best for us whether we know it at the time or not.
What an inspiration you are to all men. I always say, you get born a male, but you choose the man you become. Michael this life needs more men like you.
