Perry always comes off as humble, modest, and genuine. Always love hearing him talk about his experiences with his various tours and bands!
Met Perry and bill leverty after the blood, sweat and beers firehouse , warrant and trixter show in las cruces New Mexico fall of 1991 and he was one of the coolest guys ever (both were) taking time after the show to meet and talk to all of us crazy kids! Thanks Perry!
Just saw Stryper last week. They sounded incredible. Perry is a huge asset to the band. He's a solid player and has a fantastic stage presence.
Just saw STRYPER in concert in Australia recently. Absolutely killer show, sound was fantastic and everything you want in a fun concert. See them if you get a chance.
I have that chance and now I know not to miss it. Thanks!
Good hearing from Perry. Another excellent interview, Jason. Thanks!
I remember seeing ads in Circus magazine about that pay-per-view show Firehouse did with Trixter and Warrant. Good Lord, those were the days! It made for some interesting times in the early 90's.
This interview is the best that you can get.. so down to earth perry .. I’ve left sc for about 16 years and came back to Roanoke va.. now I’m coming back to home in sc.. what a class act , Jason and perry .. you’ve got my support.. 42 year fan of stryper… hell yes..
Maybe I wasn’t supposed to say that.. we love you guys …
My band "Blizzard" opened for the Nantucket band in 1988.Perry was their bass player then. The club was in Durham,N.C. Perry was the nicest of the group.I talked with him on stage.
Blizzard...hell yeah!
Jason does the best interviews. Good stuff. Perry is the perfect fit for Stryper. God bless you Perry and Stryper!
GREAT interview!!! Looking forward to the second Cleanbreak record!
Thanks for Interviewing one of the best Bass Players ever in Rock!
Met Perry at castaways “home church of rock n roll” bar in Myrtle Beach at the Wrathchild America show in the late 80’s….super nice guy. Took a moment to chat, sign an autograph, and grab a photo. Thanks Perry!!
Do I miss Tim sure, but Perry Richardson is an Awesome dude! What a great fit in Stryper, You Rock Perry!
Great interview as usual love wasting my time with Jason green
Best comments were at the end.
Yep… support that band!
Great show again my friend.
I recently found White Heat here on youtube. I had no idea it was Firehouse before they were Firehouse. The song was "Helpless", which was on Firehouse's debut. That White Heat cassette looked to have pretty much that first Firehouse album/songs.
Representing SC!!
The fact that Perry started out singing gospel music...Seems he has come full circle and is a perfect fit for Stryper...Loved his work with Firehouse and now with Stryper...He not only brings the Thump but also harmonies...Another few important points he makes which I have never heard from any other artist is that his parents encouraged an education first, as the music industry is a tough place to make a living, but he also had the support of his family to follow his dreams...Absolutely Awesome...Wishing him Blessings and Positive Energy! 🎸🥁✌️
Wonder if Stryper somehow dodges having to pay taxes like churches do.
@@toddmorrissey8372 doubt it. They’re Trump supporters. Saw them 2 weeks ago, they’re on top of their game. Especially Perry.
@@toddmorrissey8372 Tax is theft.
@@mr.brenman2132 mega churches- and churches in general- along with televangelists like Joel Osteen are the biggest thieves going. You think it's fair that they get out of paying taxes based on having a foundation who's only purpose is bilking gullible people out of their $? $600K was just found hidden in a wall in Joel Osteen's office. And I'm sure that's just the tip of the iceberg. Whether taxes are "fair" or not is a moot point. The fact is that as Americans we are obligated to pay them. Unless going off and living in the woods forever is appealing, if you dodge paying taxes, you go to jail.
Wow thanks. I always wanted to hear this guys story and about the different bands he was in. Very awesome!
Awesome interview!
loved all their songs .. my favorite was home is where the heart is.... met bill in sarasota many years ago.. . bill was good friends with Brian johnson and Donald Duck Dunn.. bass player from blues brothers...
Saw Perry jump on stage and jam with a cover band at Rock Burger in Myrtle Beach! What a great touch to an otherwise regular night!! Very happy to see he’s doing well!🤘🤘
great interview Jason
Love Perry!
Awesome watching it now
That was a cool interview.
I'm a Firehouse fan and a Stripper fan since Soldiers under Command 🤘
Stripper - to hell with the pole
🤣 😂 🤣

Love Perry. He's a gentle giant ❤️ Great interview Jason 😎👍👍
awesome interview, perry what a great guy cheers jason
Perry is a great asset to Stryper.
I miss the days when Robert Sweet was the outspoken one of the band. Great drummer! I hope him and Stephen Percy😊 do some work together and hang out!
I believe at one point in time he was in the Guinness Book for having the largest drum kit in the world. Anytime I was at the library, I'd grab the copy they had just to look at the picture lol.
Same here. I wish Mike and Robert would both speak more about Stryper
Really enjoyed Firehouse… so funny my seven year old son @ the time sang Love of a lifetime @ my brother’s wedding …
Enjoyed it....Thanks
Great guy, awesome interview
Awesome interview. Love Firehouse and of course Stryper. I met Bill Leverty and he is aa super nice guy. I am sure Perry is too. Cool interview Jason!
I use to see Perry play clubs in Baltimore MD in max warrior in 83
Jason, you look like Mick Mars. That’s a compliment.
Wished he was back in Firehouse. Just started watching so I hope he says why he left firehouse.
Good interview and a tremendous talent
Great interview Jason. Perry is a class just like the other Stryper guys.
The recording studio is Spirithouse. Kind of fitting.
Stryper continues on! PTL!
Seen Firehouse several times when Perry was with them. Never got to see him with Stryper yet or meet him but he really seems like a great guy. Didn't know he played with Creig Morgan, another guy that seems to be just an awesome human that had a tragic loss of his son in a kayaking accident. Check out the video of Creg Morgan- The Father, My Son, and the Holy Ghost, its country but is a powerful message of the loss of his son Jerry. No sure is Perry played on it but its a powerful tune.
Pat Paradise Rock Station likes this video! Stryper is phenomenal
❤❤❤❤❤
Also check out that Cleanbreak CD , it's really good!
"Austin 3:16" for all of those wrestling fans. Johnny very likely a secretive wrestling maniac, if I had to guess. Probably has a stash of "#1 Foam Fingers" from the 80s.
3:15. Yes!! Myrtle Beach is the prettiest part of Georgia, IMO.
SPeaking of Stryper , another underrated band is Winger. I would put Kip's songwriting skills up there with the Beatles - seriously.
For those wanting to see his pet, it makes an appearance at the 26th minute.
🤘🏻 🌟 🤘
Rip tim❤
I'm not at all interested in Stryper or Firehouse , and you've interviewed several guys from bands I'm not into. Doesn't really matter, because your interview style and almost all of your guests have wound up being quite interesting and I've even learned something new!!
Thank you I feel that’s the biggest compliment, my goal is people tune in for the interviews regardless of the guest and learn something new, while hopefully being entertained
@@WasteSomeTimewithJasonGreen mission accomplished!! I've made similar statements before, but I felt necessary to reiterate my opinion and pass along that compliment.
@@toddmorrissey8372What is true is that Stryper would blow washed ass Maiden off the stage.
The first time I heard of Stryper, they were playing a local Christian college in 1985. My friend told me they have a Jesus gimmick and they throw bibles out to the audience. Who knew they would still be doing this schtick 38 years later? I always wondered if those guys had taken advantage of the hair metal poon out on the road back in the day. Maybe that’s why Tim the bass player left the band. He was probably tired of beefing off in the Stryper mobile.
Another killer interview, I could've listened to another three hours of that.
