I have the first version of this Bosch recip saw, bought new in 1990 for about $300. On mine there is no "quick release" for the blade, but rather an allen key is used on two hex bolts. The orbital feature, where the blade travels straight or can also orbit to bite into the wood better, is a feature that is still a premium feature all these years later, and Bosch was YEARS ahead of Makita and Milwaukee recip saws in 1990. Mine is also variable speed, and variable orbit levels, or orbit off. I'm not a pro, so this was a crazy purchase years ago, and the saw still works wonderfully, and the motor sounds and performs so smoothly, like a fine-tuned jet engine. Thanks for the video, nice to see what is inside.

Thanks! I just picked up functioning one at a thrift store for $5. Now I understand it better.
