Hi again ! Just watching a real bike enthusiast keeping his bike in top notch ! Working on your bike should be easier now with the temperature going down a bit ! Take care Bro' !
Richard i do the exact same with kerosene but I rinse with water and dry with a towel then do a very light 90w gear oil and then a chain wax to kinda lock in the gear oil to cut down on sling. It still slings but not as much. I guess the water rinse is not necessary but I'm always washing my bike anyway. That rear Vortex is very close to needing replacing. I'm getting ready to order a 47t....the 46t is OK but I want just a little more snap down low. When's the shift light vid coming? Thanks for the tips by the way....I didn't know wd40 was ok for o rings.
I have also done some kind of oil in the past if I didn't have an oil designated to chain lubes. I have also used water to ensure all the dirt is out but in the last few years i do not do anything else after removing the dirt with a rag after applying kerosene or other cleaner. I use WD40 to clean it but not to lubricate it. I prefer kerosene over WF40. My understanding is that is safer. I have been using either Kerosene or WD40 with no ill effect in the last few years so I feel pretty comfortable with it. You are going to love the 47T
Hey Thomas Vortex sprockets are awesome. They are super light. If you are looking into shedding aome pounds and minimizing rotational mass they are awesome. These ones are aluminum so they will wear out faster than metals ones. I have multiple sprocket combinations. I went down to a 15 in the front and and have been running 45,46 and 47 in the rear. Thanks for your comment.
