What are your thoughts on new GPUs launching sooner than expected? Are you building now or waiting? Did you upgrade or build recently? Tell your story in a new comment below.
Hi Jason, I just finished a 'Beautiful Build' for my friend last night! I sold him my 'Old B450 AORUS Elite V.2 Motherboard, 16 Gigs of DDR4 Ram & a 500 Watt PSU. He bought a New Ryzen 5 5500 CPU, a Kingston 500Gb Nvme 2 SSD & I built It in a Brand New Deep Cool CC560 Case! Installed Windows 11 & Called It a Night! Going to install all the Drivers Today!
They are not "leaks and rumors", they are guesses from the usual suspects.
How do you feel about the MSI MAG A1250GL PCIE 5.1 and atx 3.1?? I want to use it for a 13900k 4070ti super rog strix build
@@Owen31745good PSU choice. It has a 10 Year Warranty which is nice.
Jason doesn't recommend the 13900K though. Especially with the issues going on with that CPU right now.
Get the 14700K instead.
And going with the 14700K means you only need a 1000W PSU.
Also a Strix GPU is expensive and definitely not worth it in my opinion. It's currently $950 so for another $50 you could get the 4080 Super or save $100 or more and get a different 4070 Ti Super model.
I already bought the 13900k so what should i do?? also ik about the gpu I just really wanted a rog Strix i had the money lol @kelley09162
It seems so soon for a 5090. There are still 4090s out there that haven’t burned up yet.
(;
Jensen forecasted China buying up everything. Markets probably going be flooded this time come first quarter 2025
I don't think a 5090 will be worth buying until we get much, much faster CPUs to push it. Unless you're running 8K with max settings or something.
Pc gaming kind of annoying it's just a constant battle to upgrade for games so stupid console you get the entire compatibility in a box the only thing they need Todo now is just enable full mouse and key support sorted a console that's basically a ready build pc that just works
@@Darkswordzand even then you still probably couldn’t justify it over a current 4090 and upgrading other parts.

That's gonna be a couple years
It's gonna be scalped for 37k with terms of 96 months at 18.5%.
That will need 2000W PSU
"Native FPS is the best way to compare cards" 100% agree!
It sure is, but by 2030, that won't be the case anymore. The tides are definitely turning.
Such things as native rendering are going to disappear entirely in the near future. Rendering will be replaced with real time A.I generation.
@@gytis321s2right ? The tech is clearly evolving. Ain’t no way people are wanting anything other than nvida. They’ll be left behind indeed !
I don’t think so..
Upscaling will be the norm in a couple of years.
For most of the games I have played unless I freeze frame & inspect it’s almost impossible to tell..
Give it 5 years & there won’t be an off option.
@@Maradnus Literally. They probably won't even TELL US it's active after a certain point.
Prices didn’t drop when the Super Series came out, I don’t expect this to matter for prices either. And no 1%-2% price fluctuations don’t count
Honestly I would love a video of you picking out your favorite games every 5 years from 1980 to 2024.
That sounds like fun!
I would enjoy such a video. Curious how many we would have in common.
That would be a super fun video!! ❤

This is peak PC Building time if you like Indi games or older titles like me. You can play most of those at 4K, 60 Hz settings on an AMD 5600 and RX 5700 XT.
My only interest in the 5000 series is the potential price savings of something like a 4070 Ti Super. I'm always a series or two behind and that seems to work well for me.
Best way to be never pay full dollar just wait most recent cards are more then capable for years
Im still gaming decently at mostly 1440p on a 1060 6gb gaming card. An upgrade will be huge and cheap for me.
@@FloatingLeaf1111Yeah that is like saying a t-shirt will give me warmth after running around naked for months. 1440 on a 1060 sucks. I know because my 2nd pc has a 1070 rn

With games getting more and more demanding, the Rtx 5090 won't be overkill at all. At least you'll get above 60fps using path tracing in current games and future path tracing games. Not saying that I agree with the price, just saying that there is a use case.😂
Well said
From an outsider perspective it feels like you are getting very bad value for your money when buying high end GPUs. At least there are a few good options, but if you want to play the latest titles at 1440p, the options are very limited, maybe only barely 4090 at 4k. :(
@@Pr8xy the 1440p budget nvidia god is 4070 super. you can max settings every game in 1440p and be on 60+fps

My 4090 does 8 fps on 4K ultra settings with ray tracing on Cyberpunk 2077
Thank you for keeping the content coming and non bias

I can only imagine how big a 5090 video card will be. I picture it the same size as the case you mentioned earlier in the sponsor section 😂

Brings back memories - Wizardry, Ultima, Might&Magic, the Gold Box D&D games. As a single-player RPG fan, there was lots to choose from.
yes!
I am never building for myself, I have an extended family who come begging to uncle for a new PC. Especially when they go to college, I always have a PC ready, or I hand me down a laptop I bought in the past 6 months or something like that. I have one PC myself, but I already have my son-in-law hinting that he would not mind paying for an upgrade. I am always looking to upgrade certain things like motherboard with WiFi 7 and thunderbolt 4 and the unit I have now is close to 4k in parts. Love these videos, Jason, your enthusiasm is wonderful.
So glad you are enjoying!
Is it going to have the connector that burns? Is the only concern I have
SSD in my country is expensive now, the price increase about 80-120% from last year, last year i can buy 2TB NVME gen4 with 7000MBPS speed around $90-$120 now is around $170-$250

The same thing but with more vram?
I wish but most likely no as that is how nVIdia is trying to justify businesses paying more for the cards above it that have a slower GPU core speed but more VRAM but also take less power to run.
my 4090 seems to handle everything well, even cyberpunk with maxed out setting runs at around 60-66 fps. And that's on a 4k samsung monitor.
Definitely a use case for those with sim rigs like me and triple monitors. Even though these sims are CPU intensive, running triple 4K monitors is still limited with 4090 to around 100-120fps with med/high settings. I run triple 1440p with a 3080/13600k on med settings and get around 100fps avg. Drops to maybe 70fps at the start.
Fk, i bought 4070ti for 850€ 😢...but im happy with it! Only downside is 12gb VRAM
Why? i have the same card. Stop listening to others. Monitor your gpu memory and the full vram is barely touched ever. I am 1440p, i would go 16gb for 4k only.
The only game that even remotely comes close is MAX settings Path Traced Cyberpunk about 10.8gb at 1440p. I was even running the Halk mod with Ultra textures just perfect. So yeah, one of the most demanding games in the most recent years, 12gb is fine. 🤷♂
The ones saying "meeeeeeeeeeeeeh 12gb meeeeeeeeeeh" are the ones who already have 16gb, and are probably using some amd card from 2022 that gets trumped by the 4070ti KEKW
A 70series card for that price nvidia really hate gamers
@@ArcticVXR1it matters for the future. People said the same thing about 8gb and other amounts too. Your card will hold up better with more vram and higher raaterization
@@anonymoose2474 So, then why buy anything? Tech always advances. 😂
@@tonycrabtree3416 yeah but if you can buy tech that obsoletes faster that is preferable. For the same reason I prefer a card or processor with better performance at the same price. Tech always advanced but I want the best I can get or the best I can get per dollar now, And something that holds up decently to time, either to play it myself for a long time or so it holds resale value decently when I upgrade

In The Finals (competitive game), setting the lighting setting to dynamic instead of static (I assume this means turning ray tracing on) allows much brighter lighting inside buildings which had their roof destroyed. Because destruction is so prominent, having ray tracing off is a competitive disatvantage in The Finals.
Does not rly matter since players are highlighted in that game
If your a vr user than a 5090 will be a big step up.. 4090 isnt enought to run in some games 90fps
Ridiculous...
@@VioFax what is??
I’m camping in line this year to get a 5080 on day one if it out performs a 4090 and is around the $1000 price point. I just hope it don’t use to much more power then the 4080 that uses 320 watts
This pricing is actually a issue, lets say the 5080 is 1k and the current 4090 is still 1700+, how is that gonna work if the 5080 is faster lmao. 4090 price would have to be cheaper right? They would have to lower the 4090 price under the 5080, if the 5080 is faster, the problem is they wont, so this tells me they are gonna handicap the 5080, so the 4090 is a hair bit faster, to justify a higher price. and the 5090 will be like $2500. Because how is the AIB partners gonna feel, if the 5080 is cheaper and faster then all the 4090 cards they bought..
Well my current $600 4070 Super is about the same speed as the 3090 that costed $1500 and the $1000 4080 Super is a good amount faster so I don’t see your logic. The 4090 will go down in price just like the 3090 did in the past. I’ve already seen articles saying the 5080 will be faster then the 4090 and I believe Nvidia learned there lesson releasing the 4080 at $1200 that was a horrible price vs performance and then add in the current state of the biden economy and I will not be surprised if the 5080 is released at $999
@@azrabain8210 so if the 5080 is 1k what should the 4090 price be?? 800$?? sounds like your logic is bad. if the 4090 is 800$, then what about the 7900xtx 400$??
What’s the current price of a 3090 that’s slower then a 4080?
I guess we will see but when the 5080 releases at 1k and faster then the 4090 I will be sure to come back here and remind you and I expect you to do the same if you are right

4K 240fps with ultra graphics setting and ray-tracing - this is what the 5090 is for.
Or first gpu that can actually run latest games at 8k 60fps
cyberpunk with path tracing at 4k will be the target. the 4090 barely gets 25fps at 4k native with PT, best case scenario we'll get path tracing at native 4k with the 5090.
8k might be doable with RT off and upscaling
honestly this is so crazy to even think about, gpus are getting so powerful
@@AndroidBeacshire I dunno about 8K, the difference is barely noticeable at recommended viewing distance for any screen size. It feels like a nice to have on paper.
4K x2 for VR sounds a bit more purposeful, especially at a time when Meta just opened its VR OS platform to third party hardware. I dunno, I'm just talking out of my arse at this point 😂
@@AndroidBeacshireFinally someone else see's reality. There are 2 games out right now that maxed out with RT and PT on make the 4090 sweat bullets trying to render them. The 5090 might begin to run path + ray tracing at reasonable speeds at 4k.
So does this mean if we are currently building a pc we should wait on gpus to see if the prices drop after the new release or just get at current price?
Depends on what you are building. Budget and midrange there’s not much reason to wait. See our latest GPU Market Update video for more on this
That's what I'm doing. I just built a new pc but I'm keeping my old decrepit HD6950 for now.
Great vid. Question: 7800x3d-7800x-850psu-32gb 6400. pretty sure its on MW3's end but mw3 ground war keeps crashing several times week on this pc. I did notice when i put the settings on ultra or higher it happens. if i leave it on high its good. adrenaline show the cpu and gpu temps are fine hovering around 60-67 c. @ avg of 120 fps. pretty sure this pc can run the game on ultra settings or higher. everything is updated. what do you think? thx
Try 1000w psu
Jason or anyone I could really use some help. I recently damaged my ethernet port on my mobo and the wifi sometimes randomly disconnects and reconnects. So i was wondering if buying a ethernet to usb-c connector would still give my pc internet connection? I have a Asus rog strix b550-f gaming.
Id love to see a video showing how much CPU power is used for various RT settings at each display eg 1080p, 1440p 4k.
I bet itd be tones of work but interesting
Since new gpu and cpu(intel mainly) were rumored would you recommend that we wait for a high end pc build or should we get what there is atm? I’m trying to go for intel cpu but a new socket is coming for it meaning new board, cpu and maybe way more.
We are not expecting Intel CPUs till the fall so that’s kind of a long wait.
I really can't word how much of a help sharing your knowledge with us on YT is. Would you do a video explaining why does "upgraded audio" on motherboards that I see you mention a lot matters and the "PBO" thing I think it was called, might be wrong, etc?
So glad its helpful!! Yes we got you on both of those. See our PC Parts Explained 2024 for motherboard audio and our After you Build set up guide for PBO!
Love the ending with the cat !
Mr Bear making his star turn!
Hopefully a 5080 is a little faster than a 4090 just with less VRAM for around 1200 bucks
That would be nice
The 5080 should get more VRAM ideally at least 20GB VRAM. Other wise I’m sticking with the RTX 4070TI super when its price goes down to around $500. I also would possibly consider the 7800XT or the 7900GRE.
Jason, should I just buy the 4080 super now, given the probable scalper situation and thin stocks at launch, or wait?
(Current situation: no gpu, light gaming on integrated graphics.)
At this point I might wait a bit, not necessary to buy the new stuff but to see what prices on the existing options do around launch. But your time has value too so if you see a price you like go for it
@@PCBuilderChannel Thank you. 🤗
Up to you. I would probably wait until the 4080 super go down to around $800. However times does matter and if you need a brand new Nivdia GPU today, I would get the 4070TI super as it is $200 cheaper and only 3% slower. Also if you don’t care about Nivdia the 7900XT and 7900XTX will outperform the 4080 super at $100-300 discount.
When will there be a GPU can do 4K 60fps high settings for under £400. I have 970sc that does 1440p at 40fps and it's 10yrs old £300 new
Will it still feature that cursed 12hvpwr connector?
For sure, all future Nvidia GPUs will use that.
@@PCBuilderChannel They have replaced it with the new 12V-2x6 Connector with PCI-Sig help testing the new connector with no issues. Some of the newer 4080 Super cards along with the 4070 super have these new connectors already on them. You can tell by the H++ logo on them. The new connector will support up to 675w but IMHO it would be better to put dual 12v-2x6 connectors on cards and allow each one to use only 300w. Or JUST USE THE DAMN PCI-E 8 pin connectors that never had an issues before. This is where I love the new BTF motherboards that allow that user to plug the GPU into two slots on the motherboard, Once is the PCI-E x16 and the other is the "Advanced BTF," an additional high-power PCIe slot next to the regular PCIe x16 for graphics card (its power output peaks at 75W). That high-power slot can supply up to 600W of juice to your GPU, eliminating the need for 12VHPWR connectors or other power cables in modern graphics cards as you can use three PCI-E eight pin connectors or a single 12v-2x6 plug
Yes it will and I’m surprised that they haven’t been sued. I’m hoping at somepoint that people and the government will stand up against Nivdia and sue them for releasing a hazard product and not doing anything to make it right.
I suffer from major fomo lol I literally just started getting close to my target save to build the pc i wanted to build last year based on 7800x3d. but now all this talk about new cpus and gpus coming later this year im like noooooo lol. so do i wait and just see whats coming or will i still be fine just going with the 7800?
Its always hard because there's always new stuff coming out. Remember your time has value too and factor that in. If you don't have a pc and want to get gaming I wouldn't stress too much about going for the 7800X3D if you want. See our latest 7800X3D build guide for more.
on fortnite 1080p lowest settings aiming for 240fps-240hz and above should i use dlss which makes 3d resolution to 50% or does it add delay or make no difference and not worth it or
At 1080p I wouldn't use it personally
That would be a big waste of money of graphics card to sit at 1080p and 240hz. Let alone youll need an HDMi cable and absolute positivity that your monitor can handle that. Sure you'll play other game with better resolution if desired but for just for 240hz desire alone specifically for fortnite. No way. Most alot of other games won't run 240hz if you wanted to run at 1440p without sacrificing potentially turning down some settings, and a bunch others are capped at 60 or 120. It's only worth the buy if you're wanting 120hz everything on max settings and in 4k
I have 2 monitors 165hz 1440p 144hz 1080p, x570 Tomahawk, 16x2gb RAM 16-20-20 3600, 5800x3d, 850w power supply, 990pro and a few sata ssds, full atx case and an Asus dual oc 4070. I dont feel like buying a whole new pc yet, so 5090 is not what i want to buy. Im looking for a GPU that can be ran with 850 watts. Maybe 5080 or one lower card than that maybe 5070 ti. Probably atleast 16gb of vram too.

I think Ray Tracing absolutely will be the next step in competitive games, the one time I played with it on in CoD MW 2019 it was almost like turning on cheats. On some of the maps where the sun was at an angle if someone ran behind cover I could see their shadow on the ground before they came around the corner. In fact I used that to get several kills and most definitely got called a hacker for it.
With that being said the whole "Let's show off you look into a car window and see the enemy reflection behind you" I'm not quite sure will be a game changer, I think if some maps in competitive games are built in a way to take advantage of that it could be, but again you'll still have your back turned and the person could get a shot on your before you 180. I think one day it will have it's place like all the other technologies before it, but for now the hardware performance just hasn't caught up to really excite people into turning it on.
Ray tracing is crap ai will be future
I have a Gigabyte B650M-DS3H paired with a 3060 & 7600x. What are some upgrade options?
Impossible question without a budget but anything up to a 4080 super should be sweet. (if 1440p at least)
I'd go up with that GPU for sure. See our Best GPU/CPU Combo video 2024 for how to think about this
Thanks 4 the vid hope everyone has a great weekend
Thank you for watching!
Hey, A quick question is it better to get 7800x3d with 4070 ti super if its cheaper than 7900xt. Ty for the answers to all and every quesetion.
Either is a good combo! The 7900XT is slightly faster in rasterized performance (raw performance) but if you use DLSS etc the 4070 ti Super is a great choice too.
I went with the 7800x3d and 7900xt. I was worried about losing image quality and ray tracing abilities but I just played Jedi Survivor at 1440p with max settings (no RT) and got over 120fps with it still looking AMAZING. Same thing with helldivers and other games. All 1440 at max settings with well over 120fps. The temps are really good too and rarely gets to 70 or above. Can’t go wrong with that combo.
i would go with Nvidia less power consumption less heat ,cooler pc + stronger resale value later
Keep an eye on storage, Ive been noticing a sharp increase in price within the last 3 months. I can’t find an nvme ssd for under $100 right now, even sata
At least in the US, while prices are going up, there's still multiple 1TB SSDs under $100 as seen on pcpartpicker (and that's with a pretty high sales tax added). Some examples are the Crucial P3 Plus, Kingston NV2, and WD SN770 and SN850X
Im running a rig with a 5950x and a 3090, im looking to upgrade to a 5090 when it comes out do you think ill run into CPU bottleneck issues? im mostly using my rig for productivity and the occassional gaming as well
it depends on the the resolution you will run it at ,anything below 4k you will bottle neck a 5090 with a 5950x same as if you had a 4090 now.
@@msg360 running at 4k definitely, im doing mostly ray tracing renders at 4k and wanting to do 8k renders and bit of animation nothing crazy hence the GPU upgrade
@@jdmfreak101 yeah I do design work too, that 3090 still have legs for design work no need to upgrade unless you want more performance in 4k/8k for gaming
@@msg360 yeah the 3090 is still good but upgrading to 5090 will for sure cut down the rendering times given it doesnt bottle neck the 5950x i have right now. If it does it would mean i basically have to build a new rig for the 5090 because that would mean new cpu, mobo, ram i dont know if the aio i have now will work with the new cpu, which im not prepared to do for a possible 25-30% performance gain
Yes, huge bottleneck issues. If you want to stay on AM4 you'll want to drop in a 5700X3D or 5800X3D before you go for a GPU like this. Otherwise you'll want to jump into AM5. See our Best GPU/CPU Combo 2024 video for more
Hi Jason!
Love your videos and practical guidance.
I'm fortunate enough to be collecting components for a premium gaming system. My first. I've done 2 budget builds over last decade and have been very pleased with their effective lifespan. The dream gaming buid is inspired by your April best builds and is a retirement gift to myself.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
AIO: LS 520
GPU: MSI AMD RX7900XTX
MB: MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk AM5 WiFi
RAM: 32Gb T-Force Delta 6000 MHz RGB
STOR: M.2 MSI SPATIUM 480 Pro 2 Tb
PSU: Bequiet 850W 80+ Gold
Case: MONTECH Sky 2 ATX Mid Tower (Blue)
So grateful for the care and content you put into your videos.
And the cat.
Regarding new generation components; I can't control when new stuff comes out. All I can do is pick my moment, pick my component and watch for sales.🙂
So glad we can help!
When is the next BMB?
I’m still not sure about my build even though it was boosted because I changed some things.
May rounds will be in the second half of the month. But we'll look at doing a channel member only one on the 11th, I'll put out an announcement soon
The best thing about 50 series is the price cuts on 40 series
hey Jason, what your thoughts about Ryzen 7 8700G. I was planning to build with that CPU and don't want to spend on GPU right now. So later on I can upgrade CPU and GPU when the price is right. ( I only play games at 720p and Esports Title only)
Jason doesn't like the 8700G. He'd rather you get a cheap CPU like the 5500 and get a GPU.
Its iGPU is less strong than a dedicated GPU like an RX 580 8GB.
No! Its a terrible gaming choice price to performance wise. You would be better off going for a cheaper CPU/GPU combo. Check out our March Best Builds video there is a great budget sample build for you there
My hopes are down for not only 50 series but all the series coming up ahead . Ive lost alot of money since 10 series and the chain is same . After few months of launch you'll find videos like your 5090 is already obsolete . I wont be jumping on it for a couple of months after launch . And you guys should too
Brother should i wait to build pc or i build now ? the prices will go up or down ? what do you think? Thank you!
I want to get a 7800x3d for the 5090, but I'm starting to think it might be a bottleneck. Do you think it'll be enough for 4k or do I need to wait for a 8800x3d or whatever's next?
It seems like Ryzen 9000 is going to be coming out soon too so waiting makes some sense. We'll have to wait for announcements
my question is is the difference between them different depending on the CPU?
I'm hoping 5090 is at LEAST 32gb VRAM, 24gb is so limited in 2024.
would u be making a buid on the lil deepcool itx case ? if so i wonder if you could do a gaming one as i am in the market for a lil powerhouse. also is there any difference between ATX and E-ATX? as i am not seeing it is the E "extra"?
E-ATX Motherboards are a little bigger vs ATX but they're not worth the extra money in my opinion.
Since you want a little powerhouse though you wouldn't be getting either. You'd be getting Micro-ATX or Mini-ITX depending on what Case you chose.
@@kelley09162 ahh okay, I have no idea on what small case I want I can't seem to find a nice one that fits my need as I do worry about heat distribution 😅 . But I see I'll have to look up some Matx mobos something I Wana save for maybe in the summer to build. So thanks for the knowledge

As well as between Nvidia or team red 7900xtx or the 7800xt so decisions and decisions. At this point I'm just looking for bargains
how do you know if you're motherboard can upgrade to DDR5?
It can’t. Your board is a set DDR series. If you upgrade to DDR5 then you have to buy a DDR5 board and DDR5 ram.
@calebburrichter8452 thanks dude 🙏🏼
What Caleb said, they come DDR4 or DDR5 and there's no changing them. Check out our PC Parts Explained 2024 video, I think that might be a good overview for you

for the diehard 24.5" size monitor guys, there might be a 24" 240hz 1440p on the horizon too. there is a model out right now it just hasn't hit the North American Market yet
What is the 5090 rasterization specs
Most likely not much more than the 4090 in games. Maybe a few more frames but you do have a point where you can turn up the settings and if you are already at max and it is already above your refresh rate it will not matter. For most i think it is in the space of "it will not matter" when compared to the 4090.
Don't know yet! We have to wait for testing
I have a EVGA 3070 should I upgrade now or wait? I play newer games, mainly destiny 2. I have a 1440P monitor, trying to future proof as 8GB doesn’t seem to go far anymore.
I have a 2070 GPU, it’s been working fine with 8gigs, I am hoping to upgrade to the new 50 series. There are games that push it up to 8gigs, but it still works.
If your GPU is running things greatly, you could wait for the 60 series, depending on what games you play and the desired resolution. Can’t hurt to upgrade, but then when the 60’s come out you’ll ask the same question, at least I do.
@@amigo3284 thank you kindly!!!
Depends on the rest of your build. See our Best GPU/CPU Combo 2024 video for how to think about upgrades
Jason do you think the ryzen 5 7600x with rtx 4070super will last me a decade of not needing to upgrade and still be able to play on 1440p games?
It's a good combo, though if you don't care about Ray Tracing get the 7900GRE instead.
@@kelley09162 I do care about rt especially in cyberpunk I really love it, plus the gre is the same price if not more expensive then the 4070tis
It’s a strong combo! See our latest Best Builds April for more, we do a sample 7600 build and compare GPU options
@@PCBuilderChannel I have already seen every video in your channel I know a lot of things but what I'm not sure about is the pricing and how much the part will last (and of course my budget is the only limit which is 1400$)
A decade? Most definitely not. I’d guess 4 - 5 years, with progressively reducing settings and eventually dropping to 1080p after the 4 year. Just to drop an example the 980ti, a flagship GPU, now would struggle a decade later to play any big game in the last few years at 30fps 1080p low settings. So the 4070S, a firmly mid range product wouldn’t stand the test of time. You would likely need a current 4k graphics card and drop down to 1440p, but even still 10 years is a huge amount of time in the pc space.
I had only ever bought cards second hand. I did this with the msi 7870, gtx 1070, gtx 1080, rtx 3080. 4090 came out and decided on it. It felt so great having the best of the best. Guess I'm about to be a peasant again. 😅
Hi, I hope you are well, could you recommend me a good monitor for video colorization that costs up to 600us? Thank you very much!
Are you looking a 1440p, Ultrawide, or a 4K, and is there a specific size you're looking for?
@@kelley09162 I would like 4k and at least 27 inches, but I am open to options as I know it is a tight budget
@@juanarango2928then if you're in the US the new MSI MPG 274URF QD would be a good choice.
I just got a 4070tiS,. and I just hope Zowie makes a 1440p monitor soon lol
I get cautious when Nvidia pushes a launch up. Seems the timing is normal between generations but the way they're ramping down the 40s series quickly makes me feel they're still somewhat rushing. I waited before I bought my 4090, glad I did. I knew a few people who had the meltdown issue, some burned their whole rig because of that GPU connector
Scalpers will try if the 5090 does come but ultimately it’ll just be unobtainable through pricing from ngreedia themselves, talking as a preowned watercooled founders 3080 owner, I’m waiting for a solid 1440card that has everything I need like vram and bus but not with a price that makes cars cry
Best old-school games: Monkey Island 1 & 2, Command & Conquer, Red Alert, Heroes Quest 1-3, Diablo 1-2, Heroes of Might & Magic 2-3, Sim City
Speaking of cases from the beginning of the video, I went with the Corsair 4000D Airflow in white. I caught it while it was on sale. Instead of paying $109 I got it for $89.
Nice!
I am going to build a pc in 5-6 months. Should i wait for new gpu and a 9800x3d or buy a 7800x3d and 7900 xtx. How much waiting until the 5080 and 5090 is in stock and not difficult to find?
If you currently have a pc I'd wait. If you don't and just want to get gaming, the 7800X3D and 7900XTX is a great build. It comes down to factoring in the value of your time.
so now would be a good or bad time to buy a 4070 super?
If you already have a pc I’d wait. If you are looking to build factor in your time as well, it has value too
@@PCBuilderChannel i have 3060xc and im selling it for 350 and would use that money on the 4070 super is that a good idea in your opinion
Tim @ HUB does a fair degree of DLSS vs FSR (and XeSS) comparisons
You seem to have a good handle on pricing. Nvidia isn't going to sell complete cards with chips they could put on Enterprise cards and tripple the profit on.
In modded VR games (cyberpunk, elden ring, borderlands 3 etc), there is never enough power. They take like quadruple power you would need on a 4k monitor.
I have 3060ti and no plan for changing it...
What CPU should I pair with it?
is 7600x or 13600k overkill for it in gaming and normal productivity?
I watched your videos about those CPUs and still don't know what is the good choice for 3060ti
7600 is a good choice. Unfortunately the 3060 Ti isn't that great because of the VRAM.
VRAM may end up being an issue for you. Check out our Best GPU for Gaming 2024 for more on that. 7600 is ok but I would consider dropping to a 5600 if that allows you to invest in a stronger GPU. See our Best GPU/CPU Combo 2024 video for more
Great video, Jason and team! My Dell G2724D is hopefully arriving this morning, so I'm excited to finally retire my 15-year-old monitor.
Ohh that’s exciting!! Let us know what you think of it
@@PCBuilderChannel It's setup and I'm impressed so far. Picked it up for $279 CAD, which is about $205 USD. I didn't need a built-in USB hub or KVM switch, so that bumped the G2724D ahead of my other considerations: the M27Q Pro and the G274QPF-QD, neither of which are in stock. Colours now noticeably pop; icons I had always thought were the same colour are now obviously two different shades of red. In-game buildings I had always thought were grey are now clearly blue. Going from a 2009 TN to this 2023 IPS truly makes a 'budget' monitor feel like a premium upgrade. I'm happy!
13:43 it’s simply because it looks nice and people don’t play every game ranked. Some people like to see all the new beautiful tech on display in Unreal Engine 5.
i think 1 frame delay doesnt really matter if you run at 200 fps, your brain wont notice that 1/200th of a sec difference. at 60 fps that might have an impact
4090 cant run my triple 4k at High Res. Will the 5090? Doubt it.
Interested in a 5080 if the raster is a good jump from my 7900XTX
Can’t wait to get testing!
I have the same GPU, I'm a CDPR fanboy and they're in NVIDIA's pocket. Got it black friday 2023, no way I was paying $300 more for 16gb VRAM versus 24gb VRAM on the xtx. IF the 5080 had 20gb VRAM I would consider selling and moving over, if it's 16gb VRAM no interest at all even if FPS higher. Then it's just enabling sociopaths. 20gb sure, i'm interested to see the cost at least.
how many backdoors?
I still love your videos man.. I wish I’ve been watching for longer because you have a great go getter personality, a good eye for content creation and a really positive attitude.
So glad you are enjoying! Thank you for watching
I got a 4070. If I can't get my damn hands on a 5080/90 at MSRP without paying extra to some scalper I'm not making the move over... Especially with the 4090 having had so many problems without any meaningful fix for said problems.
I just bought a 4070 Ti Super at MSRP, so yes you can honestly expect all the best new GPU releases to just appear out of nowhere immediately. But in seriousness, I don't regret it. You have to buy something sometime.
That's a great card I wouldn't sweat it either
Hope they fixed the melting issues. People should wait and see if they are going to burst into flames.
Realistically we're starting to see this technology approaching 1440p becoming standard because 4k is starting to push past being a "just single player" quality and performance resolution. So I'm curious as to what game developers and gpu manufacturers are going to do with that. If they start stepping into 8k we're going to see drops in monitor prices which would be great since 1080p and 1440p is perfectly fine for most gamers and pc gaming becoming more affordable overall is going to benefit all companies involved in the gaming industry as a whole.
Yay for Homeworld. That game just pulled me in back in the late 90s❤
Hello Jason. I've a question for you. So, I'm building a pc with Ryzen 5 7600 cpu, B650 Aorus elite AX mobo, 32gb(16gb×2) 6000mhz cl30 ram. The price difference between sapphire nitro+ rx 7800 XT and sapphire nitro+ rx 7900 GRE 16gb is 28 USD(7900 GRE is 28 usd more than 7800 XT) in my country. So, which one should I buy? And also is thermaltake toughpower GF1 argb 750w gold psu enough for any of them?
GRE though if there are cheaper GRE models do that instead.
As for the PSU that one should be fine.

Good to hear about 5090! I currently have a GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super. When would be the optimal time to consider upgrading to a newer model in the future?
You've got a powerful card already so I'd stay put and see how things go
What about the laptop version like the mobile 5090 - when is that coming?
We should know more after Computx in June
@@PCBuilderChannel Thanks! I'm waiting for a cheap 5090 laptop or a heavily discounted 4090 laptop 🙂
I have a 4090 and I won't buy such an expensive card again. It breaks my heart that they're not really that much faster without the a.i. features. Why did I let Nvidia fool me into paying so much to then enable dlss? It feels cheap while expensive.
the 5090 will be the same thing, it will come out and will double the performance in rasterization at first and get really hyped up .. then a game will come along a few months or a year after it launched that will bring it to its knees where it will need DLSS, such is life..
that is why most say it's better to stay in the mid to low end of cards they tend to age better because of the resolution that people play at with them like 1080p
