My family has been eating these for generations. In summer, we put a thin slice of tomato on top. In winter, a fried egg. Basically the same recipe, but we have them open-faced. Great for camping too!
I will have to try that out! This recipe was my grandfather's but he is no longer with us. I'm glad he introduced it to me. I am really happy to see so many people enjoy it!
I love Liverwurst. My mother is German and she would use the Fine Liverwurst spread and put it on dark farmers rye bread. Delicious! Add a pickle on the side and I'm in heaven. lol Great memories.
I used to eat liverwurst plain with some mustard and maybe some pickles and olives on the side. One day I thought about making a sandwich with it and found your video. Man I have to say this is a great sandwich! Delicious!
I've been eating Liverwurst sandwiches since 1942 during W.W. 2....Besides all the usual spreads and onions, I Like sweet mixed pickles and half sours on the side....To me it adds a nice taste to the liverwurst.....
Everyone has different needs and tastes! I tend to be underweight typically. Any recipe I share I encourage people to customize and try it different ways.
Thanks for the video! I live in Virginia and have been trying to track down Deutschmacher brand Liverwurst. Seems it's nowhere to be found sadly. Just wondering, what state do you live in?
I live in Southern New England. Keyem is the parent company of Deutschmacher so they are typically sold in the same stores. If you find keyem liverwurst it should be a similar recipe (if not the same one) but I find that the keyem branded products are typically slimmer than Deutschmacher
Once upon a time I would refuse to try it but I always eat everything I'm served so when my grandfather made me one I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was!
Mustard works fine if that's your preference! This was my grandfather's recipe and unfortunately I can't ask him but its tasty! There is mustard in the sauce though

Red onions and liverwurst is a perfect mix!
I enjoy it 😁
Great video my guy. Can say, your grandpa had great taste.👍
Thank you so much! I'm sure that would have made him happy to hear 😁 I'm glad so many people enjoy his sandwich

I'll have to try that!
This is exactly how I like mine. Enough raw onions to hurt a little, coarse whole grain mustard and kewpie mayo
I just started trying out kewpie mayo! It's great on Kaarage
Had one today with diced dill pickle, diced pickled onion and mayo. Tasty.
Sounds delicious 😋
Watching this, as I start my new carnivore diet.
It would be hard for me to imagine someone not liking onions if they like liverwurst. Great video. I look forward to trying liverwurst.
Thanks for watching I hope you enjoy the sandwich
Great recipe and excellent execution. Happy I stumbled on your channel and gonna check you out.
Thanks for the compliment! I'm glad yo liked the video!
This makes me miss my grandpa so damn much it hurts
I miss mine too, we can only do our best to remember them
Full support and send Love , I like your videos ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks so much!
Forgot the editing, lol. Mixing Mayo and any mustard steps up a sandwich. A little horseradish boom!
NO! No mayo/Miracle whip, Deii mustard only. Liverwurst in fatty enough without adding greasy condiments! That’s one of my favorite sandwiches ever!

I miss being able to eat rye bread so much! Fortunately I can still enjoy the ingredients on a rice cake.
A gluten intolerance is tough. There are other options too!
Mayo to mustard ratio would be more consistent if mixed up all at once could even make and store extra for future sandwiches.
Definitely great advice! But make sure to store it properly and remember when you made it!
I can see this grilled " Toasted cheese" style with some Vinegar peppers !
Liverwurst melts sound tasty
grand pa pa probably used limburger cheese before you were born. braunschwager = delightful. peace.
He may have, I'll have to give it a try 😁

I want some
I really enjoy the sandwich myself I would go for the deutschmacher over the mother goose (the two brands common in delis in my area)
I'm gonnamake these
I hope you enjoy them! We think they are super tasty
Great video, THE TARO CHIPS THOOOO LETS GOOOOO
Glad you liked th video! As for taro chips, working on that one still. It's only a seasonal item here
LOOOOOOOOOVE liverworst
Once upon a time I would refuse to try it but I always eat everything I'm served so when my grandfather made me one I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was!
More Hallmans perfect samich
Really conservative with that sauce lol Looks excellent, tho.
Thanks! Yeah I like to go light on the sauce incase the sandwiches sit as they can become soggy if you do too much. That said go as heavy as you like!
I thought you were going to rip thru in editing !!!
I'm a one person team so sometimes I forget lol
In Europe they'll serve meat and onions on a single slice of bread and call it a sandwich.
That's called openface where I'm from. But I like it this way better
Dutch German ancestors?
Irish and French but good food is good
Why not mustard?

Liverwurst lovers are always heavy breathers. Wads up wit dat?
Not sure if that's a thing, in my case it's probably just bad audio.
