I'm a beginner at annotating. I bought the exact same post-its (everyone has them I think and got started this summer. First while rereading a book I love, and then when I read The Starless Sea. I've put many "theories" notes in that one, half of them were right, the other half was so far from reality x) I'm still a bit shy about writing in books, so I do it with a pencil. But I love when quotes are underlined in a shade matching the sticky note, so I might just try that!

THE BEST TIP EVER is to buy clear sticky notes/posted notes, you can put it anywhere on the book and highlight lines,write stuff etc on it since its see through looks like u annotated right on the book but u can just rip it off anytime you please.
So I use tabs with my annotating but if I know I’m literally gonna underline and tab every single line in a chapter I put a big sticky note (as a bigger tab) to show that I loved the chapter 😍😍🤗❤️
