The first annotated book I ever discovered was a copy of The Phantom of the Opera...and I thought "huh, I wonder if this lady was in a book club or something." and now 2 years later...here I am annotating my own books!
The phantom of the opera would be such a good one to look through and see what other people mark up!! I loved that book and thought it was so interesting… and the ending 👀 -Christine

I love other people their annotations. Do you know travel books? It's kind of a book club, but you read the same copy of a book (and every person has a completely different book) and then you send it to the next and everyone annotates it. So in the end you have a book that your whole group of friends annoted. It's so awesome! Oh and: rainbow.

I've always loved the idea of annotating but have been overwhelmed but I love your system! I'm gonna try it out when I'm reading The Atlas Six. 🌈
I love this, I annotate fully too diwn to the underlining then highlighting the most important sentences . Infact I go more indepth I add stickynotes every 50- 100 pages to add my thoughts. I also use small stickynotes to the pages of my books if I have more to write than the space the margins give. I'm pleased you have found sticky notes that have more colours as I feel at times I need more colours to breakdown points.

Just like you Christine (I'm a Christine too by the way 😄) I use tabs with the colours of the rainbow, underline and highlight but some of my colours mean different things than for you. For example in a fantasy book with many POVs each of the main characters gets a specific colour. In a non-fiction book I use larger tabs and I write on them what I want to remember like for example the average age of a wolf. Some people don't like it at all that I write in my books and annotate them but like you said, it's our book . That was a great video ! 🌈

Purple is my favorite color too
I don't really have a tabbing color system. I do have certain colors that I keep the same. Like green is favorite quotes and things that I reason with. Green is my favorite color. I am still trying to find my favorite color tabs. I bought some about 2 weeks ago and I really love how they stay on the book so well but alot of the colors look so alike that its hard to figure out what I used for what. So I am probably going to go back to some other ones I use to use. I love what your tabs mean. I sometimes get confused on what all parts would be considered in world building. I usually annotate every book but I am starting to wait until a certain page Court before tabbing, so I will know if I am going to like the book. And then I will start to tab it up and just wait until I read the book again and then tab the parts I didn’t tab, if it needs a tab. 🌈

🌈 This how I annotate too! Great video! I feel validated, thank you 🤭 I still can't bring myself to write on the pages with permanent ink so I use pencil or transparent sticky notes that I've cut into smaller sizes.

@@theroomiesdigest They are great and the fact that I can cut them down to different sizes is even better but make sure you have a marker/pen that doesn't smear, almost had a close call.

Love your system! I may start annotating but for that I would need a cheaper version of the book cause I think I don’t feel too comfortable to write/highlight in my Hard cover or neat copy hehe

The only time I've ever annotated were textbooks for college. I like to make notes in my kindle, but I can't bring myself to annotate a physical book in case I want to get rid of it later.
Though I love your tab system and may adopt it. Currently watching, but I hope you linked where you got your tabs because I could see myself writing thoughts on the tab itself instead of the book.
When I was going to link the tabs I found out they’re sold out online and there’s not even a HINT they’re coming back so once I run out of these I’ll have to find some comparable replacements…. I am sad but also, new stationary is the best! Also its funny you say that about textbooks because when I was in college I had the opposite experience that I have with my books which is that I was afraid to write in them and highlight because they were textbooks. I wish I hadn’t thought like that because I probably would have retained more in school 😂 -Christine
