Trim to high cavitation. Propeller pitch too high like mine with 12 pitch. I changed to a 10 pitch and never looking back. Rpm jumped from 4500 to 5350 rpm the whole engine ran so smoothly and quite and quickly. 12 pitch was like stuck in overdrive with not enough power to spin it up near the rated max rpm that is 5500rpm for the 25hp evinrude.
Wish the audio quality was better...But, I don't think it is ignition related only because it is not missing/bucking. Seems to gradually lose power. Always start with the simple stuff, make sure the fuel/oil supply is fresh and free of water...Check the fuel filter, look for fuel leaks or restrictions... Try pumping the fuel bulb while it is misbehaving....If the RPM picks up, then there is some sort of fuel supply issue... You can also try pulling out the primer slightly when the engine fumbles to see what happends...If the RPM picks up, even briefly, then we are dealing with a partially plugged high speed fixed jet...
Getting back into her. Stacking parts. Pulled fuel pump.she was working, but was stiff/ brittle. Going to clean carb and make sure fuel system is right. Son getting into fishing and boating 2nd grade going to give him a proper education. One day
i had a problem with pickup tube in gas tank being kinked so it would cut fuel when tank was full and pickup floated and on an old steel gas can the pickup tube was metal and slowly unscrewed so it sucked in air i could tell by tilting gas tank on end . it could also be bad fuel hose clogged filter id guess something is starving it for fuel
@@bigdomz6025 yeah the throttle advance was way off on the linkage, i just set it by feel and ear, none of the marks seemed to make sense, brought it non-running.
weak coil on 1 cylinder or fuel deliv restriction due to kink, leak, bad filter, possibly regulator but doubtful. If there's strong spark on both banks I'd bet fuel restriction and easy fix.

@cliffpalermo yeah sounds like it. Also timing is everything with these motors

On the carb note…my 20hp was running great then didn’t. Simply the needle jet was stuck

It could be he didn't have an air filter on it.
Just saw this, boat still behind the shed. Going to one day go over the carb , do a fuel pump and make sure the fuel delivery system is air tight

Guess it's dropping a cylinder haven't taken it back out or messed with it since
