- Today we go over the latest Patch Notes for Hearthstone that sees the preorder go live for The Great Dark Beyond, Prince Renethal returns to Standard as well as a new legendary in the Avatar of Hearthstone and Nexus Prince Shaffar. There will also be for the first time an early access tavern brawl where you can open your packs early and play with them in a special event!

Hearthstone has been having this struggle since its inception.
Blizzard management and executives always asking either "how is this going to make us MORE money?" or "why are we giving this away for free?".
The fact that the boards were free was the most obvious cut for them.

Just a heads up for mobile, the patch is not live yet (at least for Iphone). If you play on your phone, you can still start an arena run!

They sadly don't, it's like all the "replay every card played last turn" cards
Maybe? But I would assume that's more so because "summon" wouldn't really make sense on this card.
there has never been a card outside shudderwock that triggered battlecries the only one I can think of right now is murozond didnt do it and it said "replay"
my opponent played that guy THE MOMENT new expansion launched and i was like WAIT, WTF IS THAT CARD? if i remember correctly battlecries does not work and targets seem to chosen randomly. by the way, i brawled that poor guy who played avatar of hearthstone and he got rekt. hillarious.
You also need the space in your hand if not you want get the full pack only the space u have available

Yeah the prerelease does legitimately sound like a fun event for players.
I just finished my arena run yesterday. I had no idea there would be a new arena season starting today.
I wonder if Resort Valet in standard will discover from the Great Dark during the prerelease period

not the biggest fan of Renathal but I know a lot of people love him so it's kinda neat (although maybe with enough tutors he's alright, idk)

The Avatar of Hearthstone says opens the pack then plays all of them so I'm under the assumption they go into your hand and then are played, thus triggering other battlecries

Yes
As well as any hero class card packs you may get with a purchased hero portrait. They're standard packs just for one class

It's a REAL shame that Avatar of Hearthstone, when doubled/tripled with any of Shaman's stuff, doesn't keep going if it dies during any of the triggers

I still could draft a arena deck for free from my phone, it wasnt updated yet. Then I opened Hearthstone from pc and got my free rewards.
I think the prerelease brawl might stealthy be great given their lack of play testing. Identify the broken stuff before the full launch 💀
Doesn't matter if they identify broken stuff before the launch. They won't do anything about it until their preplanned patch day. Just like with the Streamer pre-release events always showing off the majorly broken cards and them never doing anything about it for the launch.
This prerelease brawl is just another type of Scamesium, except instead of sucking out gold before a mini-set, it's literally just "Buy a preorder so you have the new cards lol"

Avatar of Hearthstone opens the pack and then puts cards in your hand...and then plays them so you need to have 5 spaces in hand or it sucks.

i just test played avatar of hearthstone and i got 2 legendaries, one of which was golden. and epic and at least 1 rare. i guess im just the luckiest pack opener or Avatar has a high legend drop rate lmao
it seems to be similar to elise pack where cards are just random from certain pool and rarities are not exactly skewed like they are during normal pack opening.

Avatar of Hearstone make think two things: 1) how that impact in the lore? and 2) ozruk was bad with that stats and even it has taunt! so idk what to expect
1) It doesn't impact the lore. Hearthstone is still a card game within the Warcraft universe. So having a card based on the game itself doesn't necessarily mean anything to the actual Warcraft universe lore.
2) Ozruk was a simple taunt minion that got health. Avatar is at least proactive in that it plays a bunch of cards. It's more like a Yogg than an Ozruk (Where Yogg's stats have never been particularly relevant)
@@tarille1043 I mean in the Hearstone lore, usually this game has like a few time lines happening and each expantion show a piece of it, i wonder in which will this thing impact (if ever do it)

@@Zarcasi In Hearthstone lore, this is still outside of any actual lore things. It's simply a continuation of the generic "Hearthstone" stuff, like the gifts and Harth Stonebrew.

That pre release tavern brawl looks a lot like a slap in the face of f2p players since they won't be able to buy packs with gold until the expansion launches after the brawl.
hopefully they will let people buy packs with gold and open them at the same time as the preorder so they can enjoy the brawl too
