The "you wouldn't like me when I'm angry" thing is a famous line from the old Hulk TV series. The cabin at the very end shows up again briefly in the TV show Agents of Shield. In the first season of the Daredevil show, we get a glimpse of an old newspaper with a headline referencing the Hulk tearing up the city.
The security guard that he gave the pizza too was the original Incredible Hulk (TV series for 5 seasons), Lou Ferrigno. Who also competed with Arnold Schwarzenegger in their bodybuilding competitions in the late 70’s
Genuinely severely underrated and among my Top 10 MCU films alongside Black Panther, Iron Man, Winter Soldier, Civil War & The Avengers Quradrilogy! And Bruce & Betty’s chemistry in this movie was fantastic & on par with Tony & Pepper. Bummed that so many issues with the actual character rights seemed to kneecap the amount of solo films Hulk got because the character is rife with potential.
There is a big difference between killing in self defense while under attack or killing when not in your right mind out of control and intentionally killing by choice. Betty didn't want Bruce to lose his humanity as it really is Bruce's biggest fear of the Hulk. By the way, love your channel, your reactions, commentary and analysis.
Edward Norton will always be the Hulk and Bruce Banner for me Liv Tyler and Edward Norton chemistry was ❤ Liv Tyler would just talk about how "Edward is such a great guy, he's sweet and wonderful, we've met on social events a couple of times and how she was just grateful to work with him." 😊
8:45 - BLONSKY. Portrayed by Tim Roth. Check him out in TV series, 'Lie To Me''. Roth portrays Dr. Lightman, a leading behavioral scientist who assists law enforcement agencies, corporations, governments, etc, in detecting untruths in applicants, agents and associates. He also starred in both 'Pulp Fiction' and 'Reservoir Dogs'.
OTOH, the amount of tranquilizer you need for a 75kg Edward Norton and how much you need for a 10-15kg mutt are very different, even assuming they are species compatible. And that's assuming the darts weren't loaded for Hulk. Realistically, it's less that he didn't kill the dog and more that it doesn't happen on screen.
Please, One Cut of the Dead. It's truly an amazing masterpiece of what recent movie making is. The only problem is how easily it can be spoiled. If you are serious in enjoying how clever this movie is, then don't watch any trailers, read any movie synopsis, no nothing. Just a single word can spoil this movie. Go in completely blind! Best watched with Japanese dialogue and English subtitles. The English dub is pretty bad.
Man this Hulk was the absolute best Hulk to ever hit the screen! He was fierce, intimidating, you could feel his rage and power, the angrier he gets the stronger he becomes, yet also see his gentle side for Betty. The roar he let out after defeating Abomination still gives me chills to this day! This is the Hulk we needed in Endgame 😔
In Ragnarok... Hulk and Thor were arguing and Thor finally said "Earth does hate you" to Hulk. Also Hulk, always being hounded, he left Earth on his own... then he was forcibly sent back without a choice - I believe this is why he did not want to come out. He had given up on Earth. Makes sense to me... "But c'mon big monster!" -Hulk
He probably tranquilized the dog... since they were not using "live ammo" at that time. So that later they can go dramatic and say "go live rounds!" ... but yea, not his best moment.
Change the word "hungry" to "Angry" 2:22 and you have the lines that Banner said in the Incredible Hulk TV show back in the late 70's & early 80's. This is one of several references to the TV show
I'm super-into your reaction vids. I like the way you do them, and how attentive you are to the content. I'm very fast becoming a huge fan. Also, I really liked this movie at the time. I still do. When I first saw it, I didn't know it was a part of a whole big thing.
So many callbacks to the '70s tv show. This movie gave it so much respect. I miss those kinds of Marvel movies. If you watch the opening credits of the tv show, and listen to the theme played during the closing credits, you'll catch most of the callbacks.
The guy who gave the weird smile while his head started to grow was supposed to be foreshadowing a villain from the comics, but they decided to go a different way with the MCU movies, so it ended up not foreshadowing anything.
Mr Blue’s smile was long distance foreshadowing. He is supposed to be in the upcoming Captain America movie, with Harrison Ford as Thaddeus Ross. (Rest in Peace William Hurt) Some William Hurt movies to see. Altered States (His first movie role) The Big Chill Gorky Park .. As always, great reaction and research! Love the dedication and quest for knowledge!
Is this the point I mention that Eric Bana played Bruce Banner/Hulk in the film “Hulk” from 2003. That would have been the proper starting point as it gives the backstory of how Banner becomes the Hulk.
Fun Fact: This movie marks the 4th time Edward Norton played a character with DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder). Primal Fear Fight Club The Score (2001)
In the Hulk TV series, Bruce Banner has an altercation with a reporter where he says, “Don’t make me angry, you wouldn’t like me when I’m angry.” So the fact that it’s the same line but says it wrong in translation is a bit of an Easter egg…
@@notmee2388 Mad Magazine did a parody of the show where the name change was explained as David being a more masculine name than Bruce. The T.V. in the background of that panel is reporting that Bruce Jenner won the gold medal in the 1976 Olympics men's decathlon. You know, the current Caitlyn Jenner.
Don't make me hungry, was a joke reference to the 1970's Hulk TV show. The line was originally Don't make me angry, you would not like me when I'm angry.
computer nerd with floppy pizza actually comes back much later in the MCU, same actor, playing the same character, most people wouldn't even recognize him, but if you make it this far in, be on the lookout for him in the Spider-Man movies.
1. Bruce Banner was abused by his Father, so he had to suppress parts of his personality / emotions. Hulk is his suppressed parts as a separate personality. 2. "Mr. Blue" after he gets that radiation exposer to his brain becomes a character called "The Leader". One of the smartest villains in Marvel comics. 3. "Abomination" is the Main villain's name, his "Base strength" is stronger than Hulk. But Hulk gets stronger the more angry he gets, with potentially infinite strength. And when they're doing it right, he gets bigger as he gets angrier. Because his body creates radiation and turns the radiation into mass which gives him increased strength. 4. Hulk can talk. He just doesn't say much.
Without giving too much away, Abomination/Emil Blonsky returns briefly in SHANG-CHI which is really just a lead-in for “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law”, a show you’ll probably hear a lot of people bitch and moan about, but I’m one of the people who thoroughly enjoyed it.
33:55 Tim Roth played Emil Blonsky/The Abomination in four episodes of 'She-Hulk Attorney at Law. (I don't want to name them for fear of spoiling anything for you). There he looked even more sickly than in the Hulk movie (well, as a human anyway). As always an eminently eminent reaction from Whimsory!
The dogs are shot with tranquilizer darts. They want to put the Hulk to sleep not kill him. They don't switch to bullets until after low flying forklifts. You don't have to be that tall to help people with the top shelf. If you need help, ask. Most people will be delighted if asked. The Abomination does reappear far far away. The end scene in the bar: because of his position General Ross should've been part of the Avengers but Shield didn't want him. They send Tony Stark to invite him knowing Ross loathed Stark. Shield followed bureaucratic protocol while getting Ross to remove himself by himself.

13:26 "Oh, no. You're boring. Go away." No. Don't be down on _him._ That's Leonard Samson, played by Ty Burrell. He's genuinely a good guy and his concern for her is _legitimate._
Comics background: Bruce Banner was an abused child who developed multiple personalities (Dissociative Identity Disorder) to cope. The military accident that affected him lets the personality that calls itself Hulk to take over and physically manifest himself when he becomes angry or his pulse rate exceeds a certain rate. In later films we get to see "Professor", but I'm still waiting for Mister Fixit and Devil to come out and play.
9:46 - SECURITY GUARD is portrayed by International bodybuilder Lou Ferrigno, who also portrayed the hulk in 1970s tv series, The Incredible Hulk'. Ferrigno also has a cameo appearance in the Eric Bana movie version titled 'The Hulk'.
(26:38) Because she didn't want him to lose his humanity completely. If "the Hulk" had offed "Abomination", instead of simply subduing him, Bruce Banner would have had to live with the consequences. See: Banner is a good guy. And because Banner is a good guy, the Hulk is a good guy (though a pretty frightening one). But what, if Banner "returns", only to find his "alter ego" to be a rellik? What influence would that have on Banner? - And thus on the Hulk?
This is my first time watching one of your videos. I like you, good commentary and it's always fun to watch these kind of movies to get a recap without having to watch the whole thing on lunch break. 😁👍
I see a lot of folks have informed you of the Lou Ferrigno cameo. Fun Fact: I knew a guy in college who grew up across the street from Lou Ferrigno. According to him Marvel has been sending him the Hulk comic title every month since he starred in the TV show. The purple stretchy pants that Banner rejected was a reference to the comics that the Hulk always ended up in. The MCU is a fun ride. Cheers.

Allot of fans wished Ed Norton would've continued as The Hulk but I don't think he would have helped the Marvel Universe. I like Ed Norton as an actor but he rarely does talk shows and I doubt if he would have been as entertaining as Mark Ruffalo. Ruffalo took some heat when he was announced as the new Hulk but I feel he did a great job, even if he dropped a spoiler or two. Great work Whimsory.

Samual Sterns would have (still could) come back as a villain called The Leader. Instead of the gamma radiation making him super strong, he gets a gigantic brain and becomes evil smart. The psychiatrist boyfriend of Betty was Dr. Leonard Samson, a psychiatrist to the superheroes (and billains), there's a deleted scene between him and Bruce. In the comics, he gets green hair and super strength and is Doc Samson, but still practislces as a therapist, with big muscles.
You sure are taking you time with MCU :D One movie every 4 monhts.. nearly 30 movies.. no worries, love your commentary and reactions, they are different from 99% of other reactors :)
This movie was INCREDIBLE! No pun intended ;) What I like about this Hulk is it’s exterior design, the skin tone, texture and muscle fibers popping out so realistic. He looks repulsive, frightening, a Frankenstein monster from a nuclear chaos, but at the same time handsome and other times has a child like innocence to him. His the best Hulk in my opinion. Too bad Edward Norton was very difficult to work with on set that the Director didn’t want to work with him anymore or Kevin Feige 🫤
Whimsory, a suggestion for you: It has been a while since you did the first MCU film, and now you've done the 2nd one. It feels like you're going to be at this for a long, long time. Several years. Maybe an approach might be to knock out a "phase" at a time. The main story for the MCU ("Iron Man" to "Endgame") is broken up into 3 phases. You could maybe watch phase one in a relatively short period of time (4 more movies), and then take a month or two off or whatever, before hitting phase two. That might help you keep track of the plot a little better. Also, as for credit scenes, keep in mind that some movies as we go along may have multiple scenes in the end credits. I think one of them has 4. Anyway, have a good one!
👍🙂❤ It won't take her very long. One movie every four months. Three movies per year. It will only take about seven and a half years to see her react to Endgame. 👍🙂❤

Love you reactions and extra content as usual!
Edward Norton will always be the Hulk and Bruce Banner for me
Liv Tyler and Edward Norton chemistry was ❤
Liv Tyler would just talk about how "Edward is such a great guy, he's sweet and wonderful, we've met on social events a couple of times and how she was just grateful to work with him." 😊
Agreed 💯👍
He wouldn't have let the Hulk become a joke in the mcu universe like they did the abomination
@@allelujah1210fax 😎
8:45 - BLONSKY. Portrayed by Tim Roth. Check him out in TV series, 'Lie To Me''. Roth portrays Dr. Lightman, a leading behavioral scientist who assists law enforcement agencies, corporations, governments, etc, in detecting untruths in applicants, agents and associates.
He also starred in both 'Pulp Fiction' and 'Reservoir Dogs'.
Whims, where are you? It's been too long, the wait is killing me. Well, not literally but close.
He didn't kill the dog, he tranquillized it, like they were trying to do with Bruce Banner.
Yes, and then they sent it to a farm upstate.
@@cmlemmus494 he shot the bed like 3 times for Bruce, only once for dog so it wasn't that strong a dose per shot.
Edward Norton is amazing in every role he has, always gives a great performance and shows what a great actor he is.
Edward Norton is objectively a better actor than Mark Buffalo.
Say what you want, but I can't stand Edward Norton. I'm always disappointed when he turns up in some movie I would otherwise have really enjoyed.
@jean-paulaudette9246 Yeah, what I want to say it that that's an utterly trash opinion. The guy is incredibly talented.
@@TheDrag0nSlayerDon't get me wrong, I enjoy Mark's performances, but Norton is fantastic.
An underrated gem. Norton is amazing, as always. It's a shame we never saw more of him in this role.
As you say, not a hot dog to be found, I just had one...opps....good reaction BTW-Jer❤❤
A government agent just shooting a dog is just too close to real life. 😢
The guy who gave the weird smile while his head started to grow was supposed to be foreshadowing a villain from the comics, but they decided to go a different way with the MCU movies, so it ended up not foreshadowing anything.
At 9:46 the Security Guard getting the Pizza, That's Lou Ferrigno. The actor that played Hulk in the Original TV series.
Mr Blue’s smile was long distance foreshadowing. He is supposed to be in the upcoming Captain America movie, with Harrison Ford as Thaddeus Ross. (Rest in Peace William Hurt)
Some William Hurt movies to see.
Altered States (His first movie role)
The Big Chill
Gorky Park
..
As always, great reaction and research! Love the dedication and quest for knowledge!
Body Heat with William Hurt and Kathleen Turner is also a good one... but it’s pretty steamy!
A comic store in Austin had a life size Hulk movie promotional statue. It was more than a little creepy standing next to it.
9:46 Oh. You don't know this actor. This is Lou Ferrigno. He's the guy who played the Hulk on the _TV_ series.
Primal Fear
Fight Club
The Score (2001)
Have you seen "Coneheads" yet? Started out as a Saturday Night Live skit and became a movie, Chris Farley, dan Ackroid, David Spade
Gonna watch all the Marvel movies...and so Whimsory embarks on her own epic quest
The only person ever to watch the movies on the ceiling.
I thought you'd forgot about Marvel, I was disappointed, this makes me happy.
In the Hulk TV series, Bruce Banner has an altercation with a reporter where he says, “Don’t make me angry, you wouldn’t like me when I’m angry.” So the fact that it’s the same line but says it wrong in translation is a bit of an Easter egg…
*David Banner, in the show
Classic line
@@notmee2388 Mad Magazine did a parody of the show where the name change was explained as David being a more masculine name than Bruce. The T.V. in the background of that panel is reporting that Bruce Jenner won the gold medal in the 1976 Olympics men's decathlon.
You know, the current Caitlyn Jenner.
@@TimStCroix that is hysterical
I’m very excited to see your reactions to the mcu, I love the way you to reviews and there’s some of the movies I know you’ll love
Don't make me hungry, was a joke reference to the 1970's Hulk TV show. The line was originally Don't make me angry, you would not like me when I'm angry.
I love the format that you use to edit your reactions..keep it up chica. Izzz definitely different.
9:48 The security guard he bribes with the pizza is Lou Forigno (probably spelled wrong), he played The Hulk in the 80's TV show.
Great Reaction and Analysis as always! love watching your content
computer nerd with floppy pizza actually comes back much later in the MCU, same actor, playing the same character, most people wouldn't even recognize him, but if you make it this far in, be on the lookout for him in the Spider-Man movies.
"DRIVE... dude!"
YES! YES! YES! People in movies driving without looking at the road bugs the heck out of me!! GAAAAHH!!
Oh boy, starting the MCU eh? Gonna be a long road but it'll all be worth it. Looking forward to it!
Whimsory posts, I watch, wait impationtly for 2 weeks, repeat. This is my lot in life now. Honestly, best reaction channel there is! Love ya dude, see ya for the next one!
13:26 "Oh, no. You're boring. Go away."
No. Don't be down on _him._ That's Leonard Samson, played by Ty Burrell. He's genuinely a good guy and his concern for her is _legitimate._
14:01 "I used to wonder why she never talked about you. Now I know."
See?
Ty Burrell would be the most likely candidate to return to the MCU.
Another subtle callback to the TV show was having the green eyes show the start of the transformation.
I hate it when people don't recognize Lou Ferrigno.
Awesome Reaction can't wait for the release. The only UA-camr who gives interesting reactions your channel is going far. Congrats.
You were concerned about the order, so here it is:
Marvel Cinematic Universe (Stage 1, Phase 1)
THAT IS HILARIOUS! 😂 Love your reactions! Keep up the good.... Good, uh, yeah... That!
Cheers.
👍🙂❤
If we enjoy one Marvel movie every four months with Whimsory. Three movies per year. It will only take about seven and a half years to see her react to Avengers Endgame.

"Imagine all the things they can't do, like ride in an elevator..."
Funny you should mention that, Hulk hate stairs...
Tim Roth IMO should have played the character of Stephen in Master and Commander. But, another great Tim Roth villain is in the movie Rob Roy.
Hi whims! Man, i wish you put out more content. It sucks in between your reactions. I love them! It's like reliving my youth. You're the best Whimsory! ❤ You are so adorable when you get full of fire trying to protect every animal on Earth. Which is like, always. 😂
Whimsory is a legend on UA-cam
Needs more "The Lonely Man Theme"
Edward Norton did a wonderful job here.
I love your analytical and humorous observations on film. Love to see it! I'm a big fan of Ed Norton and the Incredible Hulk.
You sure are taking you time with MCU :D One movie every 4 monhts.. nearly 30 movies.. no worries, love your commentary and reactions, they are different from 99% of other reactors :)
9:16 Stanley's Pizza .... Second "Stan Lee" appearance in the movie (*wink*) !
For an especially good Edward Norton film, I recommend his on-screen debut: Primal Fear (1996).
please, American History X (1998)
This movie was INCREDIBLE! No pun intended ;) What I like about this Hulk is it’s exterior design, the skin tone, texture and muscle fibers popping out so realistic. He looks repulsive, frightening, a Frankenstein monster from a nuclear chaos, but at the same time handsome and other times has a child like innocence to him. His the best Hulk in my opinion. Too bad Edward Norton was very difficult to work with on set that the Director didn’t want to work with him anymore or Kevin Feige 🫤
@Geo liar! that pun was absolutely intended!

👍🙂❤
It won't take her very long. One movie every four months. Three movies per year. It will only take about seven and a half years to see her react to Endgame.

“Imagine all the thing they can’t do like ride in a elevator” ooooh man she doesn’t even know😂😂😂😂
Great reaction Whimsory! Just wanted to add that Lou Ferigno played the Hulk in the 70's TV series. 😉
Whimsory glad to know your also a Lord Of Rings fan another great movie reaction video you always do a professional level job with reactions Love your UA-cam channel keep up the great work
Love you reactions and extra content as usual!
You'll notice more throughout the later phases that Marvel adopted a policy of skipping origin stories as much as possible feeling that people know what superheroes are and don't need each new one explained.
Regarding the number of MCU films, one of the longer-standing reactors (Ashleigh Burton) made this comment a few years ago that every time someone complains about how long the MCU is taking she's reminded that she has years of upcoming content.
