This song is now forty friggin' years old and still slammin'...have only recently become ADDICTED to this bass line and appreciate the wonder that is Nick Beggs. 😎 ❤☮🌎
Man I was about 12 or 13 yrs old when this song came out! I'm 49 now and I still remember this very well. You can't tell me the 80s wasn't the most unique decade ever! Think about all the similar groups like this...Wham, Culture Club, Duran Duran, Imagination, just to name a few..
Limahl possessed one of the most alluring, sensual voices in the history of Rock and Pop music. It's beyond sad that he hasn't become a big star, as he certainly has talent and charisma in spades. Thank god he is still touring, wish he'd come to the Central Valley of California.
When I came to listen to this song on the radio in 1986 I became fascinated by his soft, alluring voice. I recorded this song and listened to it during lunch time at school.
I miss the 80s so much it was even great as I was a teenager from 1983 to 1989 and i was so happy and carefree.Am 48 now and never felt so unhappy and trapped.I wish i could get a time machine and go back to 80s again to feel happy again.
Until recently I was embarrased to love this song, and Limahl, due to my older siblings. BUT after seeing a show where they did a reunion gig and the amount of people who showed up, I am proud once again to shout my love for this song, Kajagoogoo, and of course...Limahl ❤
I've hears this song dozens of times and thought it was ok but listening to it again I can before appreciate how fantastic his voice is and he also sings the main song in " The never ending story ". What an great distinctive voice.
After over 35 years of getting this song stuck in my head every time I hear it, I finally figured out he was saying "hush hush, eye to eye" and not "hush hush, I do I"
Me and a few others who were born in the 90s and later also love their image! Limahl and kajagoogoo/kaja are too good to not love even in this day and age, I'd rather listen to them than anything that's being made nowadays.
Great song, made a 80s CD for car, threw this as 1st or second song, (ABC Look of Love was other one) never get tired of it, the synths & bass, Limahls singing, the 80s drums that sounded awesome still do, smooth background produced by DDs Mr Nick Rhodes of course. Never saw the video before, or knew about the drama posted below.
In an interview, Limahl opened a concert and the first thing he noticed was that the first 3 rows all had hair just like his. And Nick Beggs is quite some bass bass player like no other.
The song too shy shy wow does that take me back another one of the most Incredibles memorable 80 song here again awesome vocals great instrumentals and great hair God bless the 80s if you agree with me give me a Hoot. You all have a great day
I always listen to songs on a continuous loop for months. But this song goes beyond the scope! My friends hate me already.. but this song... I become more powerful everytime I play it ..THANK YOU KAJAGOOGOO for making me a better person! LOL
My dad did 65 mile per hour down Howell Avenue in winter park, florida in 1983 listening to this song.. I yelled and scream.. Oh the good ole days.. P.S!! The speed limit was 30 mph at the time.. Just a side note..
Met the band in a hotel lobby in Munich 1983. We were 12 and my friend´s mother drove us to the concert, 4 or 5 hours. The next day we drove by some bigger hotels, to see if they are there. And they were! They sat there in the garden and we could see them from our car. We got in the hotel and the mother took the table right beside them. I almost had a heart attack. Later in the lobby Limahl looked at me and i nearly fainted. My friend didn´t wash her hand for a week, because the bassist had touched it while giving an autograph. It was the best day of our lives :D
Gorgeous....The look...the name...the song....This song carried them for years even after they broke up and came back together this song was still cool after all that.....
LOVE LIMAHL AND KAJAGOOGOO THIS SONG BRINGS GREAT MEMORIES OF CRUISING AROUND WITH MY COOL NEW RED FIREBIRD AND PLAYING TOO SHY LOUDLY WOOOHOOOO LOVE THE 80'S!!!!!!
Back when variety music was diverse, by the look of the singers and by their music. I thought it will be like that for ever, now I know I was really really wrong!
Nick Beggs bassline in this song is simply amazing.
Even though he looks like a failed classical composer. 10/10

Yup
Por supuesto 👍
Information Society (Walking Away) might have something to say about a bass line.
Now here's a record that stands up to the test of time. Hasn't aged a day and, for me, has never sounded better.
His voice is so smooth and calming... I'm addicted to this song and will never stop listening to it ❤️
ok
I'm in the same situation by the past 8 years
DJB. CHRIS HAMILL lead vocals.
That's exactly how I feel about this song. Soothed and calmed.
He sings like a woman.

One of the best bass lines of the 80s. Nick is a true genius. Play it loud!
I read somewhere that the bass player was influence by SKA bass players in Jamaica.
Nick ‘interesting’ Beggs
@Michael Lantz I wouldn't be surprised at that, it sounds so good.

I completely agree. I always said his voice is THE most sensual male pop voice EVER.
Where u at? I'm from Hanford in the central valley.
Interesting, I always thought his voice sounds absolutely awful while singing. Song’s still catchy tho.
My exact thoughts his voice was sooo alluring and I loved it. The sound of his voice was something you dont hear today. He should have gone on.
'You're moving in circles, won't you dilate?'......I love that line
dilate?🧐🤔
This song is undoubtedly a top hit from the 80s, I love ❤ this video!!! It brings back memories from my dancing club days 😊 in Dallas, Texas 🎉..
Thank you
That's got to be one of the best bass hooks from that era 🙌👏🙏
One of my all time favourite songs. Loved British 80's pop!
Yes! 80s BritPop is the best!!!!!!
The British certainly seemed to have all the talent then.
Limahl 💜 SUCH talent, charisma and charm. Gorgeous.
And voice. Amazing! 🏴
The best version i found on the net. The video, the sound, the tempo, everything! Thanks!!! I wanna be in 1983...

Kajagoogoo one of 80s icons that left great impact on music of that era.
Until recently I was embarrased to love this song, and Limahl, due to my older siblings. BUT after seeing a show where they did a reunion gig and the amount of people who showed up, I am proud once again to shout my love for this song, Kajagoogoo, and of course...Limahl ❤
I loved this album, and Nick Beggs was a big reason why. Saw him play bass in John Paul Jones's band, and twice with Steven Wilson. He's a monster!
I saw Nick in Steve Hackett's live band and was also super impressed.
When did he play bass with JPJ? And what was the name of the band?
I've hears this song dozens of times and thought it was ok but listening to it again I can before appreciate how fantastic his voice is and he also sings the main song in " The never ending story ". What an great distinctive voice.
the 1980s were magical. the 80s had to be eternal
It will never die for us!!!
The best decade for sure.
The 80s music will never die
Well everything changes and that's the way it should be. But I get the feeling, since I was born in August 68, so it was my youth indeed. 😍
Swingin as well
Loved a lot of music that was released on 1983. An awesome year with many great performers. This track is no exception.

So many great bands in the 80's. I was a big fan of Culture club, but I also loved the voice of Limahl.

Yes, and he has played with a number of artists throughout his continuing career.
Erm, I dunno about all time but new wave sure.
Along with sting, Rick James and Niles Rodgers!!!!!!.....80s were nasty
