The main problem is that with each tds update, they buff or add a certain tower that literally overshadows everything else in the game, making it extremely repetitive and boring to use the exact same strategy to beat every gamemode. The rest of the towers have little to no reason to be used as a result, thus diminishing any kind of game variety or experimenting when you already know things like the accelerator just gets you a free win regardless as far as you spam it the same way every time.
That's not to mention the HORRIBLE performance issues, which is a topic on roblox's awfully outdated engine, but still could've done better than litter the entire lobby.

To be honest, TDS need more end-game content for older players who already have everything unlocked that is actually fun to do. You have the fallen skins missions, but they are so boring and repetitive, simply cuz it's always "deal x damage with x tower" or "win fallen x times with x tower". Nowadays updates fail to bring back me and I suppose, other older players and veterans into the game. These updates can be interesting for new players, not for someone who has nothing to do, no goals to reach.
I think right now TDS is focusing on giving and refining content for newer players, I think they've noticed a lot of intermediate and advanced towers were left unbalanced, and right now they're focusing on that
I think below is publishing their game, whenever the game reaches the point he is comfortable with, it will start to spam mega updates and new events trust me
hi kitsunal, Yesterday, I found your channel through this video video through the magic of *_youtube recommendations_* I'm certainly not any popular content creator, but I've mostly been on youtube as a viewer and I have quite a lot of content creation advice from just watching videos I can tell this video is quite different compared to your others, which is mostly just raw footage of you doing challenges like Solo NST HC around the last wave. This advice is gonna be pretty general, as youtubers can range from just enjoying making content and not caring about views and stuff, or genuinely want to reach something with content creation. One thing I notice about this video while watching is the footage. Usually, you showed normal unedited footage of tds gameplay, like most of your content. This video just feels like something to put in the backround to listen to while doing some mundane task, especially, with, uhh, yeah... you have a great speaking voice. It's easy to listen to, although your voice is quite high-pitched, but that's fine, I dont want to criticize. On the topic of your footage, you can record footage related to what you're talking about, For example, towards the end of the video, or in the middle, I forgot, where you talked about DJ's bug letting it slowdown any enemy, including bosses, you can show footage of that for people who are watching this video, instead of it being in the backround. You could also reuse footage from some of your past videos, or simply whatever you find in your computer. It can help viewers understand the topic and you can also transition it into a little plug for some of your other videos, But don't overdo that or make it too long or annoying. Everybody knows sponsors in videos are annoying, so if you plan to do that, you can probably just add some text promoting it, like how you did with the crossroads joke at 8:51 Next, something else I noticed is that, this video drags on for quite a while. This is mostly an issue with video scripting, as you mostly want to stick to what you want to make or what you put in your title/thumbnail. The video is mostly listing reasons with why the dj rework is a "tipping point", although that "tipping point" analogy isnt very clear. Just like I said previously, here, you mostly list reasons or similar things with other towers, like at the start where you said the track system is similar to trapper's trap system. Going... "offtrack" (get it??) is kind of common in this video, but maybe that could also be an issue with your video "appearance" in the recommendations or channel page, which is basically just what your title and thumbnail are. I think the main point you got across here was that tds updates are starting to add more "power creep" and "unstability" It's a little difficult to get the idea of your video, as for the first few minutes, which is a majority of the video after the intro, you talk about the consumables update and the other things in that update that changed tds's progression and gameplay style and whatnot, then towards the end after the "crossroads" joke, you start to be more abstract, almost... whats the word? suggesting to the developers to slow down updates and reduce how unfinished and buggy they feel. This is a common opinion in this time of TDS, and I definitely agree, but its also something that drags away from the main point, which is the DJ rework being a "tipping point" for most players. I think what you meant with this was the explosion of new possibilities and "power creep" like soloing gamemodes like PWII and BL2 being much easier, especially with the boss slowdown bug, RIP. It's great that you have this kind of view on TDS's game design as a whole, showing that you have knowledge in tower defense game design. That's pretty much what I wanted to say. This video really shows what you can do in this kind of video format, which is getting more popular in TDS nowadays with content creators like eggrypted, talking about tds from a game design perspective, It definitely isn't hidden in the near 10k views you almost have here in a mere 4 days, and I want to be nothing but encouraging here, and giving advice as I see this video format is more experimental for you, I'm glad(iator) it worked out well. thanks to whoever reads this!

consumables are not necessary to win, they are a nice addition if a player wants to play the game more casually, but if player keeps on making mistakes and not improving on them they will not get better at the game, consumables should be only used in gamemodes like intermediate and below, but players shouldn't rely on consumables for game progression solely to make up for the mistakes they make in the game, farming and defending are still the most important thing they should improve at, consumables shouldn't be added into the main strategy of the game, the devs should know that the game still revolves around towers, not consumables, you shouldn't need consumables to win

As another comment said, I don't really understand the point you're trying to make with this video. You say the DJ rework was a tipping point and that "this isnt working" in the thumbnail despite this being the best rework we've gotten this year and highly received by most (including seemingly even you in the video). Also, saying the DJ rework update was "lackluster besides the DJ rework" is a super weird thing to say because that's kinda the main point of the update. It's like me saying "the fallen rework update was pretty lackluster besides the new fallen mode" Overall, I can see the quality put into this video, I just think the execution needs some work.
This is why Guts & Blackpowder's update schdule works so well. The developers release updates every 3-4 months, which adds a considerable amount of new content and features. The newest update for G&B reworked the objective map Vardohus Fortress, added a few new weapons, a new nation (Duchy of Warsaw), some custom/private server exclusive stuff, and quite a few minor changes and balances. And I'm pretty sure the devs are working a little bit overtime, because the amount of content that gets added each update is rather plentiful. The problem with releasing updates too quickly is that you wont have enough time to work out bugs and glitches. While if you take too long, the community will get bored the of the game, and thus, the excitement for the game will die down until the next update. Guts & Blackpowder's update time is inbetween these, which makes it so that the developers will have time to resolve bugs and issues in playtesting, while being quick enough so the players won't get bored. Alright, side tangent over, I'm going to continue waiting until Ready 2 Die updates.
They should switch to biweekly updates, if they have that many bugs then they should put out updates less frequently for quality control. It’s a very simple change but I think it allows devs to have more time for their updates
The title is really clickbaity so everyone thinks the video it about DJ rework slander when its not. A more accurate title would be "How Consumables Update changed the game forever" 3:24 Consumables does not force players to adopt their strategies, infact, it just buffs their already used strategy overall. Take this for example supply drops. Supply drops makes farming and early game much easier than it should be, or how flags made final wave runs really basic and much easier. 3:30 Thats the entire point of the game. Place Towers, farm, and place towers to win. Theres nothing wrong with that since the game is all about that. Consumables dont even change how you play the game because they're designed to help you win instead of being needed to win a match. 4:19 That only happens to like Dj and Commander, which are support towers. Same would happen to farm but it wouldn't matter because a necessary change is better overall to the game instead of keeping them the same just for the sake to feeding the community 5:12 Yeah they did, and decided to do a biweekly update schedule instead, putting the major updates every 2 weeks while the minor updates (Skins, qol, bug fixes, balance changes, etc) happens after the major update. 5:23 "This update is buggy" Is more accurate statement than "This update was lackluster" because we got what we received, the dj rework along with the usual minor changes. 6:21 Nah that goes since the start of the game itself. There was allt of bugs such as damage boost not working on splash towers, rof bug, wrong firerate calculations, lower level commandsr overriding higher level commander, etc. So the issue here is that the developers don't fix the bugs instantly. Updates don't even feel lackluster they're just buggy as i said before. 7:52 Yeah Hidden Wave launch was such a mess. The developers deciding to award only 40 players increased to 48 skin for the new player, and the wave itself giving seizures. 8:07 They already did. I said before that they're doing a biweekly update, and changed the update schedule to Wednesday. And i noticed that the sentence you said after is just a repeat of what you said before. "Developers needs to slowdowm updates, fix bugs, and do more minor updates" And as I said again and again, they're literally doing that.
I wish they give us optimization and quality of life options. Some of my new hardware like a pc are struggling to play the game and it's only 2 years old. I think the updates itself are fine as it is, I like the tower reworks and changes and wish that nearly all the available towers will be reworked before adding new content.
I didn't saw the DJ rework as a buff, it was technically a rework. Evwn though it is better in some things, it is worse in anothers. I think that I qoule change 5 thinhs of Current DJ. -Make the placement circle much smaller, it is too big. -Make DJ Have a small fire rate buff. He is already giving almost every single buff apart from hidden detection, flying detection, and lead detection. So I think it would make sense -Make Dj have an attack with low damage, like 30 maybe. Now he can only attack with the red track and the ability. -Make it a bit cheaper, because its too expensive compared to before. Unless that they give him the firerate buff too. - Increase his range, because his placement circle became bigger, making less towers fit inside the range of the DJ.
U have a nice voice. Also we honestly just need a break from the updates. I am a returning player who has given up on fallen due to how dumb the traits are. Anyways. Good luck on being a tds youtuber
honestly i dislike most of the new tower reworks, additions and rebalances cuz they are either too op or too underpowered making the meta constantly changing. now this might seem good at first but i think its a lil too fast pace.example? brawler. when it was released, it was one of if not the single most op tower in the game cuz of its dps, knockback thingy and the ability which made it op. then its hd got removed and its stats got nerfed and warden got buffed to the point where it became the meta for melee towers within the span of literally 1 month. these changes make tds wayyy too fast paced for a td game and they should slow down on the tower additions, reworks and rebalances and maybe do it like once in 2 months or sumthin
I dont know what the point of the video was you just p much went back in time and showed us what we've alr seen and heard of there wasnt any real feedback other then "fix bugs and do more balance changes" in most cases the bugs happen when they move the stuff in the testing place to the main game so they arent noticed in testing and as far balancing the game is going rn its doing well it has the actual simulator vibe of go up in lvls harder challenges better rewards, better towers most towers are fairly alright and balanced other then a few & event towers. In the last 2 years they barely put out any actual yk updates and this year theyre making up for it w the weekly updates as theyve overall learnt from the past/player count (also nim does not have the power to fix bugs)
i wanted to just talk abt the improtance of balancing the weekly updates with good bug testing and good reworks just so that players can have a better experience, rather than just pushing out content quickly for the sake of it. but this is also my first time doing this kind of thing so i understand if you didn't get the point of what i was saying at all and i'll def use this to improve in my further vidoes , thank !!
There fricking fallen and hardcore what you want? Jerking in TDS? Brother atleast it not a nerf or any tower you dummy will scream "BuFf dJ" tds just need to buff more thing with bug tbh they lazy asf
How funny everything comes around people asking to get weekly updates just for them to get dissatisfied for getting what they want (Not like they’ve been through it before in eclipse event) and soloing the special game modes has been possible before the dj rework (because of consumables but hey not like it makes another game easier to beat *tdx*) the only reason why it’s easier now is due to its versatility it has but hey that’s just power creep but yeah updates do need time to slow down I’d rather have big chunks than smaller ones preferably and to be polished before it’s released while they did have a few problems with old events it was mainly polished and not buggy with these quick updates
I do agree with most of your points but last time they had a slower update schedule everyone actively criticized the developers because "there was nothing left to do in the game and tds is getting dry" (I'm talking about the days where the TDS developers only made skin updates for weeks while they worked on bigger things and not the halloween 2020 - solar eclipse era because that was simply a disaster) They were forced to take on this schedule and as a result, Each update was buggy and unbalanced. (Though I will say that bugs are unavoidable but they should at least try to lessen it more)
hi im just gonna say this cause why not 1. the bug problem is hopefully resolved from the weekly wednesday updates (devs are off on weekends so having a 2 day period where coders can take time to fix bugs is great) 2. devs are already following the "periodic major updates" formula from the minor patches that only release skins + bug fixes (it helps gain tds players cause theres a little bit new content every now and then) 3. this video aged so bad 😭

It's like me saying "the fallen rework update was pretty lackluster besides the new fallen mode"
Overall, I can see the quality put into this video, I just think the execution needs some work.
It was lack luster because of barely any content it had. Cool there was a tower rework but the game is still dry. Since the game was still ez
@@louie-t2eI don't get this "Game is dry" Argument at all now that Fallen Mode got a rework
@@louie-t2e if you think TDS is dry don’t look at TDX
we had basically the same criticism lol, yeah, i agree
@@tapgames3465 The thing is for me is that once you beat it, why beat it again? Since i have all towers why do i even need to play again?
your voice sounds like ":3"
Why are ya'll saying she's using a voice changer? Do you even have any proof?
Blud is the good type of a yapper
guts and blackpowder too hard for me not doing allat for priest😔
Gonna post this on TDS wiki to see what people think about this
i wasnt expecting that voice jesus
They should switch to biweekly updates, if they have that many bugs then they should put out updates less frequently for quality control. It’s a very simple change but I think it allows devs to have more time for their updates

Eternal battlegrounds have competition
The title is really clickbaity so everyone thinks the video it about DJ rework slander when its not. A more accurate title would be "How Consumables Update changed the game forever"
3:24 Consumables does not force players to adopt their strategies, infact, it just buffs their already used strategy overall.
Same would happen to farm but it wouldn't matter because a necessary change is better overall to the game instead of keeping them the same just for the sake to feeding the community
5:12 Yeah they did, and decided to do a biweekly update schedule instead, putting the major updates every 2 weeks while the minor updates (Skins, qol, bug fixes, balance changes, etc) happens after the major update.
Most of people who commented this video never heard female voice xd
Eanyway great vid i hope to see more :)
The only thing that will make people happy is by having having an event with free deluxe/phantom crate fr
So I think it would make sense
-Make Dj have an attack with low damage, like 30 maybe. Now he can only attack with the red track and the ability.
-Make it a bit cheaper, because its too expensive compared to before. Unless that they give him the firerate buff too.
- Increase his range, because his placement circle became bigger, making less towers fit inside the range of the DJ.
For me the rework is really good and i liked it alot :D
better than solo fallen with electroshocker content
ok smelly kero
@@Kitsunal. noob
The bug thing is probably just a by product of weekly updates tbh.
why did they make my neon rave dj a woman
I'm deleting the other comment cuz people keep on saying "you want stuff to be the same", Thats not even what I mean bro.
I loved the paywall update 🗣️🔥
then it doesn’t even add a single thing to the game, not even balance changes.

Female Tds content creator REAL?! Also good video
@SpectralTD wdym
community hates nerfs and the game got easy
That's basically the reason why people hate him, the DJ is really bad and makes the game 1000 times easier.
There fricking fallen and hardcore what you want? Jerking in TDS? Brother atleast it not a nerf or any tower you dummy will scream "BuFf dJ" tds just need to buff more thing with bug tbh they lazy asf
'Really bad and it makes the game easier'
Which one is it? Is DJ a bad tower or is it overpowered? It can't be both
@@mememaster295 Yes yes it is well balanced

I do agree with most of your points but last time they had a slower update schedule everyone actively criticized the developers because "there was nothing left to do in the game and tds is getting dry"
(I'm talking about the days where the TDS developers only made skin updates for weeks while they worked on bigger things and not the halloween 2020 - solar eclipse era because that was simply a disaster)
They were forced to take on this schedule and as a result, Each update was buggy and unbalanced. (Though I will say that bugs are unavoidable but they should at least try to lessen it more)

hi im just gonna say this cause why not
1. the bug problem is hopefully resolved from the weekly wednesday updates (devs are off on weekends so having a 2 day period where coders can take time to fix bugs is great)
2. devs are already following the "periodic major updates" formula from the minor patches that only release skins + bug fixes (it helps gain tds players cause theres a little bit new content every now and then)
3. this video aged so bad 😭
I'm still waiting for frost mortar
No it was not the tipping point for many fans even with the mako skin we werent at that point.
