12:21 Hey Matt, if you look closely at the item buffs of an icepick, you can actually see that one of the possible buffs is "Dig Size Bonus", which most likely correlates to a dig size bonus :)
im guna be a dirty hijacker and hijack the top comment to say there are pallets you can buy that you can put a bunch of stuff on then you can carry the pallet with all the stuff all at once. you can also back the truck ontop of the purchase platforms and fill the back of it with the things you want to buy so you dont have to move it a second time
@@mick-sk5lw Using the cart is a much better option than pallets since stuff can stack into eachother, like the back of a truck on carts, where as pallets they collide together so cant fit as much
The “batteries” are really only effective at boosting pressure for long conveyor belt systems and cannot boost beyond the starting pressure of your intake. The advanced intake gets you a higher starting pressure and the advanced pipes degrade the pressure half as much as the standard.
lets be honest, we all know why RCE has all the parts he needs really conveniently available at all time but tbh it makes for a much better viewer experience because hydroneer is really damn grindy and thats not entertaining
To be perfectly honest, he's using the lava hauler too much. You use that for things that you really can't pick up or for massive MASSIVE loads of stuff. You keep using your truck because it works fine as is and is faster and smaller than the hauler. He's essentially just abusing the hauler because he has it, not because it's actually better. But on the flip side, I think Max and his team need to go over the map with a fine toothed comb here pretty soon. The truck is better than the hauler for the short trips he's making to get small things, but even then the truck will some how clip some weird collision artifact hidden at the weirdest angle in a bridge or the road and it'll flip my truck or just out right stop it dead right where it is.
hey Matt, quick tip: there a note feature in your steam overlay. you can even pin notes to be visible (and see through if wished) when the overlay is closed. sort of like you own little questbook which ressources are missing^^ to get to it: open the steam overlay and then press the little pencil down in the middle. thought this might help you^^
todays tip for you my friend, is to read the item discriptions which can be found in the bottom left corner of your screen once you pick up the item, the barrels for example said exactly what you found out after the testing
I'll give you this advice for the game and namely the DLC in general. Everything progresses in material in the form of Hardstone and Iron; Hardstone, Iron, and Cloutium; Hardstone, Cloutium, Corestone. At least buildings do. Forging is fairly similar with Gold & Iron first then you go up to Iron & Cloutium and then you finish with Cloutium & Corestone. It feels like a weird and wasted progression system in my mind because gold and iron become resources for money and quests, yet quests tend to start asking for corestone and cloutium, the same stuff you need for the highest level stuff.......So all they become is the source of your pocket change to get things running to get the "important" resources and they're fairly irrelevant quickly. The Ice Wand, if I understand it correctly, is exactly like the Dirt Wand, just for the DLC. Technically, I don't see much of a need for it. With enough self control and a rake, you can already generate infinite ice and dirt. Dig part of a block up, use the rake to "level" it all back in. The dirt or ice is magicked back in and it's not taken from anywhere. There's also the fact that shovels some how will place 2-3 scoopfuls of ice/dirt for every 1 they pick up. Anyone curious about this take the starter shovel, get dirt in it, go to the edge of your claim where you can still "dig" and stuff and place down the dirt. You'll get a mound of dirt that you should be able to scoop up twice before it's gone....Rinse and repeat and it's essentially infinite dirt/ice. Also I think the difference in depth/tiers as far as returns go is like the deepest T1 stuff will clock in around 2.2 weight. Deepest in T2 is weight in at around 5.4. I don't know the exact number for T3 because that one's a bit tricky. T3 is very small and I've only recently gotten that stuff. I haven't weighed anything from it (just let it be processed instead,) so the logical assumption would be that they're >5.4 weight. Flip side of that is the abandoned mine shafts will chuck out a max capacity 300 weight ore of whatever you've got it collecting. So when the peasants ask me for 4.5 corestone and cloutium all the time, I either get something from T2 or hurl a 300 weight boulder at them in spite.
You dont need the magnet on a stick to get the gems out of the gem compressors - just move your reticle around as youre looking through the closed jaws and the reticle will turn a light blue/grey when the gem is behind it and can be picked up (its how I get the chunks of ice and such out of the harvester when they glitch and dont get processed and hang around inside the model) =)
Also, I got you RCE. The old drills were the Ram Drill (the smaller one) and the Goliath Drill. I only remember that because there was the "DAVID" dirt maker thing that was used to compliment the Goliath Drills and that was the whole inside joke of it all.
I feel like the best way to improve the fastest is to save up money and materials, and get as many drills as possible going in one system. The more drills you have, the more dirt you make and the more materials you get in a shorter time period. It’s good to upgrade, but I feel like at the stage you’re at you need to focus more on quantity than quality
Why don't you add/move the splitter at the top of the ice elevator (next to the water generator) so that you can send bars/parts up the belts? You're having to make tons of trips up and down, but with a bit of tweaking you could have the ice sorted into the water generator and anything else get dumped out next to the truck. (basically rip off the design of the material elevator at the volcano)
i recommend you put small bars of each resource on its sorter conveyor so that you can just shove a bar onto conveyor ant its going to merge with stuff in the smelter (really usefull actually)
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming Well you made it just in time. Scrolling through comments just as I've finished the entire Playlist. Basically had it playing constantly
Hey matt you don't have to move everything just the drills. Use the belts to get everything back up to lvl 2 or rebuild that to lvl 1 soo you don't have to keep going back down
if you dont need the hardstone blocks for buildings anymore you can probably just set the combiner to 100,000 or something and just sell off what it produces
So you can buy carts and fill them with stuff at stores, then pull them onto the sell spot to buy everything, then hop in the back of your truck while pulling the cart to carry it back all at once.
just take all the bars and drop em in the bucket and carry a bucket =) one bucket can carry infinite amounts of bars, money and anythign else about that size ;)
Wait until he realizes he should just conveyor the raw stuff all the way up top for processing so he only has to go down to add more drills, while easily loading ores into his truck.
Just wonder, in this filters setup. Is it cleaning 20% from initial dirtiness or from incoming one? If from incoming it will be not 100% clean at the end of 5 filters chain 🤔 Anyway last time I played Hydroneer I hated constant breaking of my filters or equipment.
If the filter filters 20% of what behind it this means its almost impossible to make it 100% clean Because let's say there's 100 "something" take 20% you will have 80 take 20% = 64 take 20% = 51.2 then 40.76 then 32.608 So after 5 filters you will filter 67.392% (((I am just 12th grade correct me if i am wrong and i don't know the game mechanics but i think it will work like this in real life)) idk 😐😅
Yes if the filters were filtering out a percentage that would be the case, but the filters in this game are just additive, so no diminishing returns (for the sake of simpler gameplay)
Your math is right but it could be that the game has a variabel Set between 0 and 1 for dirty lava and the 20% is actually just 0.2 in code so that it Stacks together Instead of taking input value *0.8 = output value
Haha unfortunately not the increasingly ridiculous sized holes the different pickaxes made in creative mode before. There were 3 tiers of drills in the original game, one for each tier of dirt. Looks like now it's just lava drills or masterwork drills.
If each filter cleans the lava by 20%, after the first filter is 80% clean wouldn't the second filter clean 20% 0f 80%, so you'll only ever be able to clean it by so much unless you had one filter that made your lava 100% clean? Orrr am I over thinking this?
Tiers are for nothing more then levels of Dirt/ice, Tier 1 is surface, Tier 2 is around 8-10m deep, and i forget when Tier 3 starts Note: this may not apply to all plots
Hey RCE, your Math on the filters is not correct, they are cleaning the lava by 20% by the time the 5th filter cleaned you get 67% clean lava. Formula= 1-(1-0.2)^n So put at least 20 to get 99% clean lava
Bro, you know this game does have stairs, right? Take the 10 minutes to build yourself an actual way down to that mess and you'll have saved yourself far more than 10 minutes by the end of the series.
Always funny how he doesn't really realize that a lvl 3 drill should be used in lvl 3 not a lvl 2 one 😂 or is my brain wrong here - haven't played in long
Word of warning... it's possible (or at least used to be possible) to make a crafted item so expensive it sends the value into negative numbers, meaning you get nothing for it.

It’s entertaining to me but I guess that’s just me
For him to be able to post as much as he does, it needs to be this way. I'm ok with it.
I would say afk-y instead of grindy but yes, watching someone afk is in fact not a great viewer experience
Obviously because he's gaining incredible amounts of money through the power of efficient engineering, smh
It’s entertaining 😅
Fun fact, you can drive through the lava, so you can avoid most the bad bridge
the only thing is, there are big pits under most of the low quality bridges
With the dodginess of a bunch of those bridges, it would be safer just to use the lava route.
To be perfectly honest, he's using the lava hauler too much. You use that for things that you really can't pick up or for massive MASSIVE loads of stuff. Since you moved all the drills, you didn't need a merger. Could've just used a corner conveyor.
True!

Make a conveyor to load your truck
Now the competitor is going to be the Hydrotect
nice :)
I can not tell if this is a pun, or if someone announced they are actually making a mining game by that title.
Sooo buildings out of water wich has to be ice... essentially igloos, iglootect

Very much, had two afternoon's off this weekend!!
love this series! :D
how are you and paddy doing?

there are 3 types of drills, harvesters, boosters and pipes in vanilla and they are T1 Forged Iron, T2 Cloutium and T3 Corestone.

i came here from a Lets Game It Out video and was curious to see what a normal playthrough looks like lol
