Big thanks to the Real Civil Engineer! We're the developers of Grow the Seed, and we're thrilled that you enjoyed it. Your support means a lot to us, and we appreciate you sharing your experience with others. Fingers crossed that the full release will bring even more excitement and fun. Thanks again for your fantastic coverage!
Just so everyone knows trees for the most part don't go down deep because of the nutrient rich soil in the first 1 to 3 feet of soil so it's a blanket of roots across the ground the more you know
@@DavidWRiceMusic Heavily depends on the type of beetle (ladybugs are probably the most well-known example of a beneficial tree beetle) - but scarabs specifically are known to damage tree leaves, yes
i dunno why birds and worms are the pests.. when its caterpillars that eat leaves and worms and birds dont... birds can eat fruit though but fruit is made by plants on purpose cos they want them to be eaten to spread their seeds... so if the fruit is being eaten it wouldnt be classed as a pest.
yeah, its inverted. worms and birds should be the defenders, while the scarabs and caterpillars should be the pests. maybe instead of a wasp on the flower, it could be a bee, and instead of caterpillar it should be a spider. for underground i seriously think there shouldnt be combat there. but if they wanted to, it should be fungus, and the worms both should be some buff to generate food blocks. game is very weird.
Fruit and flowers are both great for wasps, they feed exclusively on liquids as adults, such as nectar. (Someone is going to "well actually" me, because wasps are predators. They hunt other insects and meat for their larvae. The adults themselves feed on liquids).
Day 10 of waiting for Matt to upload Mindustry Part 2. FFOTD: The hardest resource in the game to get is Surge Alloy, needing 3 Copper, 4 Lead, 2 Titanium and 3 Silicon, in order to make it you need to power the factory with 240 power units per second.
Fun fact: The nurtrient rich soil layer required for life is only about three feet deep (this can vary by region or human intervention of course) so most root systems are more like a blanket under the ground and give structure to the earth above. That's why trees are often planted in areas that get a lot of wind or flooding, they hold down soil and keep the earth more intact. All that being said, some trees DO pass this rich soil layer and they are some of the biggest damn things you will ever see. Like, older than most countries. Nature is wild, man
I had a brother named matthew its almost been ten years since he died, i found your channel maybe 2 - 2 and half years ago at a not so great point in my life and, I have really enjoyed your videos over the years and just wanted to say thanks
So I’ve seen other gameplay of this game. Just so you know when a apple goes rotten it drops food under your tree because it decayed. And the caterpillars have the largest range avalible.
Day 101 of asking Matt to add the Second Narrows Bridge, Ironworkers Memorial to the Wheel of Bridgetune It is a cantilevered truss bridge, carrying 6 lanes of traffic from Vancouver to North Vancouver in B.C. across the second narrowing of the Burrard Inlet. It's name comes from the fact that it collapsed twice during construction, which unalived 23 people in total (Hence the name, ironworkers memorial).
Oh man i thought this was dangerously funny and it turned out to be you. I was so happy when I heard your voice it's just so calming. keep up the good work
I am always feeling joyful and happy watching your relaxing and cosy gameplay videos. It is just oddly satisfying watching you play and hearing your commentary 😊 You just do them really well. Also, your editing skills play a great part. The sudden musics, zoom in, and etc. I'm your big fan as one of the many viewers you have ⭐️😁
I love the contrast in modern games. There're games that'll make you literally micromanage the whole universe and then there is this, where you throw random cards to grow a tree... And I'll bet you that this card game sells 1000x compared to the universe manager. Edit: Idiocracy wasn't just a movie, it was also a prophecy.
Matt being Architect of the Botanical world, not using the strongest shape to grow the branches and roots of the tree! What I think is that flowers/fruits should be below branches technically since the fruits get heavier when they grow. Also it makes sense so you can put your defenders at the tip of your brances/roots.

when did u plan for full release ??
The game is so fresh
Just so everyone knows trees for the most part don't go down deep because of the nutrient rich soil in the first 1 to 3 feet of soil so it's a blanket of roots across the ground the more you know
Also, birds and worms are good for trees. Beetles and caterpillars are bad. This game is mental.
@@DavidWRiceMusic Heard it was made by a architect
@@DavidWRiceMusic Heavily depends on the type of beetle (ladybugs are probably the most well-known example of a beneficial tree beetle) - but scarabs specifically are known to damage tree leaves, yes
Yeah, it depends on the type of tree and the habitat on where the tree is

Non native worms can have profoundly detrimental impact on ecosystems, but I agree it's counter intuitive.
What a cute and fun game! Hope you play the full version when it comes out

Well actually, wasps are little psychopaths
Well actually you're a nerd
@retsaMinnavoiG Aren't we all? If you're not nerding out on something you're doing it wrong.
Wasps love apples, especially ones left half-eaten by squirrels.

“I haven’t really grown a tree I’ve just grown a habitat for insects” that is what a tree is 😆 such an engineer 😛
civil engineer by day, environmental engineer by night.
And architect on the weekends

I fully expected Matt to grow his tree in the shape of a knob. Fair play.
