I remember playing this sort of game when flash games were popular. I don't remember what the game was but now they sure made it super grindy and pepper it with ads and micro transactions.

I find it fascinating that there is a universal design language for cheap p2w mobile games that makes me loose interest in the game within five seconds. Somehow this design must be appealing to at least some audiences or else these studios would do something different, right?
I guess it must be. Catchy and addictive somehow, or as you said, it wouldn't be profitable or popular. It's such a shame though, because you can't go two steps in the app store/google play without encounter these kinds of games. Anything that looks remotely like this I just immediately bypass. Same with MMO kingdom builders. They all have the exact same formula (maybe different visuals or story) and I can't stand those either. The "puzzle" ones that have their ads everywhere. I avoid those like the plague as well.

This might be a hot take, but I feel like I used to come to this channel for RCE and the content. Now it's just down to RCE for most of these videos because honestly all these reskinned and p2w mobile games are getting kinda old. Love your work Matt, but your other content is much more entertaining and way more engaging than these cheap p2w mobile scam games.
Did you watch schim or the farmer was replaced? Plenty of interesting games but take a look at views recently, most of my audience enjoy the games you don't the most- and I enjoy variety so I think we have a good balance, sorry if you disagree!
90% agree with you but I do come to his channel MOSTLY for his personality and voice. As long as the game's mildly interesting then it's a good time. I love the engineering ones most.

You're one of my favorite UA-cam CCs and i've been following you for a long time. And it's entirely fine if others enjoy the content, i'm not against them either, I just wished to share how I felt, that's all. I still watch your content regardless of what it is because I enjoy your personality and you can make even boring seeming games fun. I appreciate the work and effort going in to making all of it, I just wanted to say how much I prefer the other content. But as I said, it's a hot take, as i'm not a fan of those type of mobile games. I'm just here for the discussion, i'm not here to attack anyone or what they enjoy. :) Hope that clears some things up!
@@jacobp.2024 Exactly! That's why i'm still here. I really do not enjoy these type of games but I still support the channel by voting, watching and commenting. I just prefer the other content much more than this, but i'll always support RCE.
It worked for GSP and DF, I wish it'll work for RCE as well. Like I'm doing for them, I'll just check every once in a while to get a cheap laugh while unsubscribed as to avoid the flooding.

Saving a few thousand on food production by sinking a few hundred into base health is way too sensible for RCE.
He doesn't need to 100x his troop health when he can spend 10mil on 0.03s food production.

Never been this early before, well I've got nothing to say other than the fact that you got me addicted to UA-cam now. Been through a tough time lately and I know youtubers get these kind of comments all the time but your videos really help a lot. So all I can say it's thanks matt.
Gameplay in this seems to be to use the spears to do most of the damage. But spearmen go down in one hit. So put a few melee units up in front to absorb enemy weapons. They'll space themselves out automatically, spearmen know to hang back and fight from range. That's basically the game. Then the elite units, use 'em now and then, can't really think of a rule for that. They're just tougher melee units. But it's the spearmen who do most of the damage, given a chance, and not forced into actual melee where they'll just die.
On my system, the ads don't load, so if it's the same for anyone else, go mad with them! Double money for nothing. You still get the extra coins, and an apology it couldn't advertise at you.
GSP did this one yesterday, but I look forward to seeing your spin on the game.
If you didn't know, this game is actually a replica of a mobile game called WeAreWarriors.
It's very similar except the units are actual soldiers instead of tanks.

Videos only been up a few minutes and most of the comment section is "day whoCares of asking for DumbGame" and "first!" Posts. I'm not sure why I even look
I imagine the first type must be incredibly irritating to Matt, but he doesn't say anything. Maybe he does listen to them and stores their suggestions in the back of his mind for when he can't think of anything else to make a video of. I know it certainly irritates me though, but what can you do.

Its really weird seeing flash games become "real" games. Especially when the person who made the flash game isnt likely to have made these versions of the game. Just someone came along and took the idea. Like how Vampire Survivors took the idea from Magic Survival. Now they are known as Vampire Survivor games. But at least in that case the devs gave credit.

This is quite similar to a game called Age of War 2 that I played in elementary school. Though similar, I believe age of war 2 had a few differences that make it a much better, more refined, and competitive game.

There's a mobile game with the EXACT gameplay called We Are Warriors!. Probably better than tanks but the fact that this game (Age of Tanks) was released way earlier than We Are Warriors! just... hmmmmm

I just watched GSP play this the difference is like the difference between the strongest shape and a triangle.
RCE actually has a strategy that not just adding nuclear power. GSP still has a funny strategy.

I've seen another video about this game and that guy spend a lot of crystals/gems (I assume he watched a lot of videos) and that made his tanks even more overpowered. But the dinosaur age would be interesting for sure.
They Should really change *base health* to *base UNIT health* so people understand what it is. I feel like most people think it just upgrades their bases health
You should always raise your base health even just once so you beat any one on one combat. 😊
This game is a spin on the "age of war" formula, so that might be why it's only tanks - to separate itsrlf from the original game.
Also it might have been a better idea to get big tanks before ranged ones simply because the weaker tanks get destroyed by the enemy troops too quick to protect ranged troops

The fact that the tanks in this game besides the final modern tank is awkwardly weird, using human weaponry instead of their intended weapons such as a cannon

His editors would have to know that. But I don't think any of them are British, and the pronunciation of Renaissance wouldn't be a word they'd hear a British person say very often, probably. Plus Matt does say a lot of words differently than normal, irrespective of accent. But I don't know if that's because he's unfamiliar with the word, or does it on purpose in an attempt to be funny.

i've learned a tactic save up at the previous battles then get high food production and all troops then go to current battle and spam the best troops it got me through timeline 1 in a exactly exactly the same except the other is the original and i only did that one so far

Well now that I’ve seen the whole video for today.
How it ended is Exactly my point in how Matt mentioned wanting to play the Dino ago and see more progression in the ages of this game. There are so many more that ended the same.
Far as the gold pick axe from yesterday I’m content with that game being done although it wasn’t fully finished lol.
The viewers usually decide which games get extra episodes, if episode 1 doesn't perform well then there won't be more, but it's also down to whether a good thumbnail can be made too as episode 1 can just show what the game is but episode 2 has to be much more unique to get people to continue watching the game.
