Your so right there mark perryman. After 9 months in lockdown i was acting and saying mad stuff in ma house lol a thought a needed 4 to 8 weeks in a psycaitric hospital or asylum. But my dr said i was ok after 5 minutes of talking to me lol a mean come on, a said to my dr "anything to save the goverment money" my friend who is very clever said to me "i dont go near gp's becouse there not interested. See when you walk into there office and they ask whats wrong? See before your only half way explaining to them whats wrong? He or she has already wrote 1 or 2 scripts then pushed them across there desk to you to pick up and thats it" and when i thought what he said he was right and i laughed at how i never noticed it before myself. My friend said "is just a stage show, an act. If you take away the nice quiet chat in the waiting rooms its just a factory with a production line and we are numberd and namend. And the hospital is worse except faster and alot crazier. And if you go up to be seen without an appionment you can wait 6 to 8, 12 hours" i said i waited 6 hours from 11pm to 5am and in extreme pain i wanted to just die.
I know Davis loses here but it's a reminder of how good he was , he's flowing along nicely during this, and that's him during his 90s so called decline.
Great footage, great fun. Absolute comedy though seeing the referees running around in between the frames! Why didn’t they just stop the clock? And when Davis‘ time ran out why didn’t they just end the match there as he was behind? I don’t think this caught on 😂😂
Never saw this back in 1992, or this format. I saw these two play in a Matchroom League game in 1993 in my home town of Stevenage, that ended up 4-4. The other game was a ponytailed Ebdon vs Wattana, also 4-4.
Mark H good days indeed. I was a Stevenage boy back then. And in 93 was on a table right next to Hendry at the Camden snooker club. I was trying to pluck up the courage to ask him for a game.
Because snooker was a lot slower in the 80's and early 90's, ideas like this about speeding it up came to light. Interesting to see the one of the fastest players in the modern game at this age though.
@bobby firmino Snooker not billiards, he is also world champion at stuffing chocolate éclairs up his arse, 7, it was nearly 8 but he had to go to the loo and unfortunately one was forced out just before the timer clock bell...
I don't get why after the first frame when they were setting the table up the time was coming off Steve's clock yet Ronnie's stopped, then Ronnie broke. If it was Ronnie's break why wasn't the time coming off his clock ? Why didn't it come off both players time or freeze both players time ? Does anyone know ? Thanks
LOL Bless you Ted, Steve didn't forget to press the button after his break...he was clearly waiting for the cueball to come to a rest! If he'd have pressed it any earlier, he'd have given away four points and presumably a free ball as well!
The best thing about this is that this is just Ronnie's normal style off playing. :) Nobody can beat him @ this. Especially Ebdon...Wahahahaha! He would use up all off his time just for one shot. lol.
Well after watching a few Steve Davis vs Ronnie. And Judd Vs Ronnie recently I'm finding that they are similar types of matches. I don't know if that's down to Ronnie? Steve Davis put Ronnie O'Sullivan under it a few times. even though Ronnie has a better record against Steve Davis he's struggled to get over the line in a few. It's kind of a similar rivalry. He really didn't have that with Stephen Hendry...
Time frame >lot of piss. Get the real snooker on. They have tried all this naff none of it works, If you don't like real snooker, get the 9 ball on or English pool..
ted lowe's first comment about how steve remembered to press the button, he was waiting for the balls to stop! also nowadays the clock would be stopped for the rerack! whoever organised this is thick!
If they ever introduce time frames into world snooker today I’m finished watching it. Be warned WPBSA I won’t be the only one! If they do Alex Higgins would be right bout them ruining snooker.
You're worried about something that's nearly 30 years old? I doubt the WPBSA are going to say "remember that format the BBC tried 30 years ago? Let's bring that in now". This is so old that it was back in the day when Eamonn Holmes was only slightly fat.
G B Lol. I know but they got that stupid timed game out now where the crowd can’t shut up I’m sure you know the one I mean? on sky I think that’s complete crap and you know as well as I do they’ll put any old rubbish on for Cash especially that Davis promoter, Barry Hearn sorry. Earn Can’t think the name of that game cus it’s so crap. But anyhow remember this I bet they will at some point. shot time I heard willie thorn talking bout it. Think it’s called speed ball or speed snooker that show.
With the clock running between frames, it would make sense to leave the last ball over the pocket and make your opponent pot it...lose 7 points but they the one who's clock is then running during the set up.
I remember a player back in the day saying that Ronnie when he came on the snooker scene that he didn't play proper snooker... hahahahaha. How he proved him wrong! Who was that again, anybody know?
Ted Lowe commentator
John Williams referee
Steve Davis vs Ronnie osullivan
It's like like a match you'd see in heaven.
Realy enjoyed watching pot black with my dad in 80s😊❤
I like this format a lot more than the current shoot out.
Fantastic! Had no idea this existed! I would have been 6 when this went out so can't say I remember it either... Great upload.
My two favourite players. I'm more of a Davis fan though. Nice to hear O'sullivan call Steve his 'idol' at the end
Two of my all time favourite Snooker Players. I loved Steve Davis in the 80s.
"Not a bad player is he, Ted?"
"Amazing for a 16 year old"
Ted was into 16 yr old boys back then.... Allegedly...
@@markperryman1797 that's rich coming from you (no pun intended with 'coming')
@@johnbg5403 LOL, this Lockdown gets everybody doing silly things....

thanks for posting this... great to see.
Weird how this entire series passed me by. I thought i watched everything snooker from the mid 80s on.
I know Davis loses here but it's a reminder of how good he was , he's flowing along nicely during this, and that's him during his 90s so called decline.
Must be an early example of a permanent on-screen scoreboard.
Awesome game! Best I've seen for ages!
I remember watching this back in the early 90's! think it only lasted one series!
Steve must of known, this Ronnie fella is going to beat me a lot in the coming years.
Win, lose or draw...Steve Davis such a true gent and great sportsman
Fabulous entertainment, cheers 👍

What a treat to watch. Two of the 3 greatest of all time playing so freely.

This Ronnie O'Sullivan kid is not bad is he.
Would love to see when he makes his first 147
@bobby firmino No, he became a shelf stacker for Tescos then went abroad to be a drug mule between Mexico and Malaysia I think..
@bobby firmino He was for a while but kept losing his wages playing Fri nights....
@bobby firmino Snooker not billiards, he is also world champion at stuffing chocolate éclairs up his arse, 7, it was nearly 8 but he had to go to the loo and unfortunately one was forced out just before the timer clock bell...
@bobby firmino it's banter dude, yes everybody through time called me clever, funny and an idiot. Polarised. Stay healthy dude 😷😀
Steve Davis wasn't hanging about either!
All the signs were there, what a player he was even back then!
Fancy trying to compete against the ‘ Rocket’ in this type of snooker !!
In his book he basically called a speed snooker competition format "paying the mortgage". As he did not even have alter his style of play.
Ronnie playing this format now would be two 147s and a toilet break
Ha ha
And a smoke

Steve davis what a gent
Commentator :You have to play very quickly indeed.
Ronnie: Hold my beer....

Errr .. nope
Got any more of this.
Please upload more matches if you can
Were these clocks the inspiration for the timing rules in the snooker shootout?
Wow, what a ridiculous game,
"Let's put people out of their misery....." That's right, Eamonn, we're tired of hearing you talk!
This is like Christmas for Ronnie!
Ronnie beating his hero...Both legends!
What year is this?
I used to watch it
This is much easier to watch. Pity it never caught on 😎
Imagine Peter ebdon playing this time frame he take hour to make a 50 break.
From 7 September 1992.
16 year old O,Sullivan
I feel old now haha great that though thanks
Duas gerações, dois estilos, dois super campeões.
Interesting format. Doesn't make any sense that the clock keeps running when the balls are being set up
It is a bit odd. Pot Black was always designed for a 30 minute TV show format so I guess that was the reason.
The best thing about this is that this is just Ronnie's normal style off playing. :) Nobody can beat him @ this. Especially Ebdon...Wahahahaha! He would use up all off his time just for one shot. lol.

Crazy format. Just let them play normally.
Bring it back!!!!!!!!!
Great by Ronald O Sullivan.
What happened to that guy 'O Sullivan'?
Time frame >lot of piss.
Get the real snooker on.

Willie Thorne betting on the result, what doesn't he bet on?
@Days Kay Latest odds his wife staying with him : 200/1 (was 66/1)
@Days Kay I've put 5iver on for yer, got 250s Ladbrokes 🤪
Oooh poor taste lads. RIP William
I can hear snooker.
Peter Ebdon's worst nightmare
really exciting! For once watching davis is exciting!
That Ronnie could win a few world titles he looks that good!
ronnie is super cute here
looks like a mongoloid
they should stop the clock when reracking the balls.thats just silly..
I think the nugget enjoyed that

ronnie is the lad
Ronnie could have hit a 147 and still have 3 minutes left!
Willie Thorne gets balder by the second

Watch it again - both players clocks counted down when the new frame was being set up
That Ronnie lad won't go very far.
That's Ronnie o Sullivan!
@@edmundpower1250 Martin knows that! 😂
Yeah, a chancer lol. 😆
Irony lads .... Irony !!

One of the boring players without a doubt!!!
😎✌💓
Lousy format. Even if you're a bad potter, so long as you pot quickly you win.
