It was a kickback commission scandal, and when the commissions stopped, the suicide bombing was carried out to put pressure on French Govt to continue the payments. As an Urdu speaking, I’ve never met an Urdu speaking jo tere ko mere ko karke baat karta ho in Karachi, except for the saddar wali side. There’s many different types of Urdu speakings, you’re talking about memon, gujrati, Bihari Urdu speakings

I agree, Murtaza bhutto could have been the best leader. But don't think the state likes such aggressive leaders. Even if he had survived that event, he would have continued to face attempts. And even if he became the PM, most probably he would have ended up like his father.
