I think Jimmy said the best part of playing with the Black Crowes was that he didn't have to play rhythm and lead and fills and could really listen to the songs as they were on the albums...He's a fucking genius...and he rips the guitar like no other.
I just watched some malmsteen, blackmore, gilbert and vai,now after watching this i noticed i,m smiling more and where did these goosebumps come from?We have a living legend amongst us girls n boys, lets 4ever appreciate him!
Legendary and Lively , groovy, gritty, rocking rhythm with a powerhouse of pure perfection in playing phenomenal gem guitar goodness, simply stunning..emanating with electric energy and super charged magnetic music fused with flame of guitar greatness, Jimmy Page..and Black Crowes..
Never thought I'd see it. I love Gormans drumming as always. The Crowes are a favorite and to hear Jimmy playing is an incredible treat. two gold top Les Paul's. Is that Luther?
check out Gorman's new band....Trigger hippy. More laid back, but has Jackie Greene (ex-Crowes) and had at one time the guitarist featured here (Audley Freed)
Crowes and Page. Does it get any better. Love Zep and this might be the only band around today that is almost as musically diverse and talented as the mighty Zeppelin.
This song was probably my 1st introduction to Led Zep as a kid, it fuckin blew me away then and it still does now after so many years!! A bit like a favourite Amsterdam hooker!! Brilliant!!
All us southern musicians blow harp buddy! Im a lead guitarist in the 3 bands I play in except in Communion we are a trio and im the only guitarist but whip out one of my harps too and our bass guitarist handles the rhythm really good he plays in Bleeding Tree with me too.. on two of our songs I do a guitar solo/harp solo dual one with slide and other conventional.
in thousands of years if there still life on earth people wi;ll remenber of jimmy page one of the greates influencial guitar people in history amen James patrick page 4 ever a living legen d
wicked video ... and Page's solo is the one with the most character but the other guys rocked and must have felt like trying to teach Jesus how to pray hey Jimmy, may I borrow your Burst for the next solo??
The Crowes did more justice to Zep than any other band I can think of. The Live at the Greek is a fantastic album, sadly it kind of got lost over the years. Chris Robinson really gets the "feeling" of Zep right. And it's interesting to hear a legend like Page next to the other Crowe guitarists. You can really hear the monumental difference in style and how unique Page is. Both those other guys sounded excellent, especially the second soloist (Not sure if that was Rich Robinson), but Page has what I call a "staccato stabbing" style, it's not syrupy or especially fluid, and it's kind of sloppy, but it's great nonetheless and it's all his own. Nobody attacks the strings like Jimmy Page and nobody sounds like him.
Johnny Halliday (RIP) use to sing : toute la musique que j'aime, elle vient de là, elle vient du blues. All the music I like comes from there, it comes from the blues
My mothers boyfriend is in a local cover band and there guitar player use to be a guitar tech for the black crows. He would get up once in a while and finish the gig because sometimes there guitar player was so messed up on drugs!
@jinxthekatt Well, for one, there's a 50 song box set of called "Robert Johnson - The Complete Recordings". Very interesting, enjoyable and educational. In his case (he died at 24) it really IS all his recordings. Betcha' most libraries have it. That's where I got it.
@deltamx What do you mean they don't have a blues sound? Listen to "Ride On" or "Show Business" or "Crabsody In Blue". And why do you think they're overrated. They are playing for more than 30 years. This wouldn't have happened if they were overrated. Cheers amd all the best!
the crowes from the jump saved me from the hair rock & grunge rock convergence....they keep getting better. and evolving. check the music they recorded at levon helms studio. hall of fame????????????????????????????????
With being said I do love Bob Dylan and Joan Baez and I know they played guitar but without solos the songs tend to be shorter. and I am sure you can play blues on fiddles as well as I have heard on Ukelele. It really does just boil down to the mode played and scale used as far as timing.
Guitar school pro level lesson is being displayed, pay attention to all players!!!!!!we have a host the guy paying the big bills!so in the heat of the moment the hired gun grabs his time to shine!!and rich is pissed!off!!!his lead is full of him yelling at his hired gun!!!wtf man ???.we can't overplay!!!!the host or make a huge challenge!!!thats the way it goes be a pro. But let's not forget its jp he doesn't give a shit he will take the challenge and play back at you,he has nothing to prove .BUT 90% of old vets would have just not played a lead and after the show said hey rich by the way...um...fire that asshole!!!! And rich would have fired him if jp didn't play back!!!!!thats a huge lesson if your in a bar and the house fav ...that you want to show up doesn't bring the challenge to u .....you do not bring it to him or you will starve!!!!!!
No shame in my game, I had no idea he could even play that well. Just when i thought I knew this band fairly well.....now I think I just never seen him play. I dig it
My favorite Led Zeppelin song of all time. The whole album is amazing 😉
Fue un honor para los cuervos, tener esa compañia tan ilustre en su concierto. Ahi se metian todos, hasta el apuntador.
Good to hear Jimmy page again. Perfection!
I think Jimmy said the best part of playing with the Black Crowes was that he didn't have to play rhythm and lead and fills and could really listen to the songs as they were on the albums...He's a fucking genius...and he rips the guitar like no other.
lokezep genius very over used term especially so in his case. Run of the mill perhaps
lokezep: Yawn! This fucking terminal!
Tony and Andy are no nothings!
Go easy on them mate. Tony and Andy are probably just kids who stumbled here looking for their favourite Lil' Wayne piece.
@@tonys518 Miserable nobody.
Watching Jimmy just enjoying himself with all that talent around him 😁
holy shit.. that singer.. is awesome!! so are the black crowes!! and expecially JIMMY!!!
I first heard Jimmy playing with the Black Crows on a disk.I was blown away!!
I just watched some malmsteen, blackmore, gilbert and vai,now after watching this i noticed i,m smiling more and where did these goosebumps come from?We have a living legend amongst us girls n boys, lets 4ever appreciate him!
I saw this show in Raleigh. My two favorite things. The Black Crowes and Page. BOTH were Awesome.
***** HOW ARE YOU?
Cool:)
SeaBassVamp: Oh! Shut Up! It's dull as shit!
Never thought I'd see it. I love Gormans drumming as always. The Crowes are a favorite and to hear Jimmy playing is an incredible treat. two gold top Les Paul's. Is that Luther?
As an old fart, this is so nastalgic, but what a great tribute to by the Crowes to Pagey. Well done.
Jeez ! how have i missed this over the years, WOW !!!

Absolutely grouse thanks guys
bad ass drummer here. hats off...
check out Gorman's new band....Trigger hippy. More laid back, but has Jackie Greene (ex-Crowes) and had at one time the guitarist featured here (Audley Freed)
+my45izsteppin2u Yeah man! Tom Gorman is WAY underrated. One of the top 5 drummers in rock period.
It takes some balls to just step in front of Jimmy holding a Les Paul yourself and just do a solo while he's looking at your back. I'd be star struck.
Crowes and Page. Does it get any better. Love Zep and this might be the only band around today that is almost as musically diverse and talented as the mighty Zeppelin.
He plays that harmonica like a demon.
Fabulous. It doesn't get any better.
led zep the greatist rock and roll band the world has ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!!! influenced so many other band and guitar players
This song was probably my 1st introduction to Led Zep as a kid, it fuckin blew me away then and it still does now after so many years!! A bit like a favourite Amsterdam hooker!! Brilliant!!

I'm jealous.
Jimmy and the singer (sorry idk his name) have a real friendship. When you play like that with someone, you love them

Bad fucking ass!!!!!!! Chrome cast this shit to your tv on surround.
And that my friend.... Is... and always will be the story of the one and only Led Zeppelin
I don't see it but the guys name was Jack Soo.
Rich Robinson must have been high out of his mind to stand in front of Jimmy Page The Hammer Of The Gods and pull a solo
Jimmy Page would be the first person to tell you to walk in front and play a solo
With being said I do love Bob Dylan and Joan Baez and I know they played guitar but without solos the songs tend to be shorter. and I am sure you can play blues on fiddles as well as I have heard on Ukelele. It really does just boil down to the mode played and scale used as far as timing.

@Pepper2Jason I'm still laughing at that... I saw the same thing!
Jimmy Page ALWAYS outclasses everyone he plays with (outside of LZ) and this is no exception, although the other guitarists do a decent enough job.
