I wish the critics would take a fucking hike. I have seen the Crowes 60 times and its always one of the highlights of my life. And if Page liked em enough to do his catalog w tjem, who gives a rats ass what all tne purists and bellyachers say.
This is the reason i love jimmy page..... One orange Head isnt enough for him He Needs Two, most guitarists cant handle one, and he rips this apart using two. and the crowes are playing like they wrote this as their own tune, great performance wish i could have been here
chris and the crowes do an absolutely fantastic job on this and on the whole zep set. i saw the show in october 99 and it was pure ecstasy. chris robinson should take plant's spot and let the ZEP FLY AGAIN!!! robert, bless his soul, can hardly sing these tunes anymore, and doesn't want to. Pass the torch, I say. Chris Robinson rocks rolls grooves and wails. Superb performance!
How could you possibly have listened to their concert from December “07 and come away with this opinion on Plant”s vocals????? I think you’d do yourself a service to go back and listen again or have an honest intelligent friend proofread your posts before pressing send
I was blessed enough to see this tour a couple of times but the best was with my 2 sons who were 8 and 6 at the time!!! The oldest still talks about it a lot!!
Take it from a singer...not an easy song to sing. Lots of experience managing your air. Add to that 10+ songs before this one in particular. God bless everyone
Cool to see Jimmy playing with other guitarists. Makes the songs sound more like the album versions. Jimmy couldn't do that by himself on the Zeppelin tours of the 70's but I still like those versions too.
first time i have seen this version but your comments are well worded.if led zep had not existed and the crowes and jimmy had brought this out it would have rocked. i love zep but also like to watch different versions of there music.
i swear presence doesn't get the love it deserves. it was a straight to the point rock n roll album. there something about "nobody´s fault but mine" that's way ahead of its time. it could of easily been a black crows song from the 90s. Aside from "achilles last stand" it really stood out to me
That was so good I don't even know what to say. The Crowes have it down pat and it shows. WOW. For me, there won't be anything like them. I saw the Beatles live, Hendrix, Cream, all of it live. And, yes, I can still remember the Rolling Stones when they walked through our audience to the "stage" in the middle of the crowd. But the Crowes will always be one of my very favorites. Thank you guys. Best of luck to you all.
I used to live in Raleigh, now I live in a BFE town called Lexington (Near Winston-Salem). We used to be known for our furniture and Barbeque, Now we are just known for the Barbeque. I also saw the Crowes once in Greenville at the Attic when I went to ECU. Go Pirates. I Hear San Diego is Awesome.
I was there and it was awesome. The best band since Zep and Jimmy combined was just a major treat for me.I can't tell you how thankful I was that I saw this show 3 times and it was just as good every time. I would have loved to see them do 'Wiser Time' with Jimmy though!
Zeppelin is all about the rythem section. After viewing a whole bunch of these Crowes/Page videos it's obvious to me why this union was formed. This rythem section NAILS it!!
Black Crowes doing a Led cover shows how great Zep was and how so far behind everyone else is.....the power and groove of Bonhams drumming, Jimmys beautiful tone and Plant's incredible wails.....hats off to JPJ too.....they will never be equalled
Man, this concert tour was called "The Black Crowes with Jimi Page. They cut the tour short. I had tickets to see them in Tampa, 3rd. row, when they cancelled. They cited an injury to Page (??) and had, and had to pull out. I think it was bad timing for him to be around Robinson and Robinsons best friend and worst nightmare. . It all triggered Page. just my opinion
Being here in NC, the Crowes play a lot of warm up gigs in small clubs getting ready for the tours. I have seen them about 10 times since 1991. Once opening for PLant. Seen Plant and Page but never together, I bet that was awesome.
THE BEST since the original Led Zeppelin days. IMHO, even better than any of the Led Zeppelin reunions. The Black Crowes with Audley Freed just kicked ass! Chris had it down too. Great to see Jimmy getting down with them. Great combo.
wow could u imagine having a good little rock n' roll band going over the years then having Mr. Page himself come out and rip some strings with ya on a classic, nice job Crowes!
I'm a huge Crowes fan, but I agree with you. They have that old-school dirty blues style that Zep perfected. CRobinson has that thin, raspy, emotive voice perfect to capture Percy's style, also. Too bad Gorman is no Bonzo, but who is?
well. nobody COULD. now Robert can't sing worth a shyt. he sold out to the 1 genre of "music" where you don't have to do anything but wave the American flag around at a football game. but seeing as how the song's been around for 90 years, it was never Robert's to begin with, so fair play to the Crowes! this version rocks
Jimmy Page must be the number 1 attractor of youtube bullshiters. One goes like "he is sloppy", anotherone "his playing is unpleasant", and the such. Guys, get a life. Millions of people around the globe were raised listening to the genius music of JP. If you don't like him, bugger off.
Maybe what they don't realize is, he played 2-3 separate guitar parts in many of the studio versions of their songs. And since he's the only guitarist in the band (!), it's tough to translate that to the stage. Plus, there are countless numbnuts who are always disappointed when the live version doesn't sound EXACTLY like the studio version. I have no respect for those people
I think he was great in this album. The guy can be almost unstoppable when sober, so yeah, this is a delightful album to listen to, if only you can filter out one thing: Plant's voice at its worst sounds better than their lead singer. Page must have missed the time when he was putting together the band and he saw an unbelievably talented 19 years old Robert Plant performing at an English pub and doubted his own luck for days before inviting the guy into what was soon to be one of the greatest bands of all time. Now he's nothing more than an excuse to make a cover album and he's not in charge of anything.Early Zeppelin Robert Plant existed for too short a time. Blame it on bad luck or whatever you wish, but by the 5th album, LZ had virtually lost their lead singer. They carried on, and had many, many years of success before their tragic end. Did it cross Page's mind that in the old days of the New Yardbirds this guy would not get 5 minutes into his audition for lead singer? Also, the drummer kinds of pussyfoots his lines. If you can't play Bohnan, stay home or take a fuck truck load of cocaine and then give it another try. Is his kit malfunctioning or what the F is wrong with the dude? Is he scared of his lines? Either go all the fucking way or stay home. This is John Bohnan, fgs.
Oh My God...seriously!?!? This is ridiculously hot...no big surprise though. I kind of knew what I was in for when I 'clicked' it...sick, sick poop! Rock the hell out! Why, you ask? Because Chris effing Robinson said so...that's why! He's not imitating or competing with Robert Plant. He's merely performing one of his songs. It's called a 'cover', and many bands make a habit of playing them at concerts. Basically, you can count on hearing one at nearly EVERY show..despite who you go see.
I think Chris is a great singer, one of the few singers that can do the Zeppelin canon justice(apart from Plant ,nuff said). The Crowes compliment Page really well.I saw them on this tour and it was brilliant. Dont forget this is live and gigs really sort the men from the boys, set list was really inventive as well Not a bad harp there either Mr Robinson I rest my case.............
I've yet to understand why these people get so defensive about how "nobody can do it like zep" ...it's like...well no shit... But why wouldn't you want it to happen?? In case you haven't noticed Led Zeppelin isn't a band anymore... and uh.. you can't go watch them live. So if someone can "do it like zep" then stfu and let them play so we all can go watch them one day in concert.
With all the sensitive "My girlfriend dumped me and I hate myself" rock bands that have come out over the past two decades Everyone should be happy a band like the Crowes came out and can rock with the best of them. Live at the Greek is phenominal. I would have to rate Custard Pie as the best. When I listen to the Zeppelin studio version and the Crowes Page version back to back ......don't hate me...gotta go witht the Crowes Page version. It totally rocks end to end.
This was a great vehicle for Pagey. To have 3 guitars playing really captured the feel he achieved on the studio recording of this song. Awesome. Kudos to the Crowes for learning this tune so well. And Bonham's drum part too! But... I gotta say..... the vocals are flat-out horrific. Which is surprising, because I normally like his voice. Something went awry here....
But the only thing is,it would have been very difficult to find a singer as good as Chris(the lead singer of Black Crowes)he does very, very well on these Zepplin songs.I can't think of anybody who could do a better job!
I gotta Bible in my home -
I gotta Bible in my home -
If I don't read my soul' be lost -
Nobody's Fault but Mine - -
Mama she taught me how to read
If I don't read my soul' be lost
Nobody's Fault but Mine - -
Thank you Blind Willie Johnson
I wasn’t ready for that harmonica solo. Probably my favorite part of the whole song
That's why I'm here. I wanted to see what Chris would do with it. I have a very rudimentary version of it down.
solo made me cry......jimmy's playing is the sweetest and purest thing i've ever heard
Its Jimmy. What else is there to say
Yeah it’s one of my favorite solos of his. Presence is an amazing guitar LP.
Jimmy Page touring with the Black Crowes is the best he's sounded since Led Zeppelin broke up. The Crowes were a good match for him.
He was on fire with page and plant. Think 96-98 was his re peak. But this was really amazing too
You're absolutely right
I wish the critics would take a fucking hike. I have seen the Crowes 60 times and its always one of the highlights of my life. And if Page liked em enough to do his catalog w tjem, who gives a rats ass what all tne purists and bellyachers say.
Wow, has it been 26 years already? I first heard the Crowes on a demo tape before they were ever heard of.
BabyFaceFinster here here
This is the reason i love jimmy page..... One orange Head isnt enough for him He Needs Two, most guitarists cant handle one, and he rips this apart using two. and the crowes are playing like they wrote this as their own tune, great performance wish i could have been here
Sounds awesome with 3 talented guitarists. Just the way Jimmy did in the studio using overdubs!!
fantastic. jimmy page, please come back into our musical lives! its been too long!
The Crowes are awesome...no matter WHO they play with....
esp Chris--> that voice....gives me shivers...
Thanks for the love and the support, it’s nice seeing you here
chris and the crowes do an absolutely fantastic job on this and on the whole zep set. i saw the show in october 99 and it was pure ecstasy. chris robinson should take plant's spot and let the ZEP FLY AGAIN!!! robert, bless his soul, can hardly sing these tunes anymore, and doesn't want to. Still coming back in 2023 and everyone on stage still rips this apart and stomps it into the ground. Amazing cover.
No lead guitarist needed an awesome rhythm guitarist more than Jimmy Page.
Jimmy's guitar army and muscular rhythm section-Bring it back!
first time i have seen this version but your comments are well worded.if led zep had not existed and the crowes and jimmy had brought this out it would have rocked.
i love zep but also like to watch different versions of there music.
this collaboration brings the black crowes to another level
i swear presence doesn't get the love it deserves. it was a straight to the point rock n roll album. there something about "nobody´s fault but mine" that's way ahead of its time. it could of easily been a black crows song from the 90s. Aside from "achilles last stand" it really stood out to me
Yeah, I'd love to tour with these guys. Who wouldn't want to tour with the Black Crows? ✌️
That was so good I don't even know what to say. The Crowes have it down pat and it shows. WOW. For me, there won't be anything like them. I saw the Beatles live, Hendrix,

Grew up with the zep - and I saw the Crowes come to there own - LOVE THIS - it is just friggin awesome!
I was there and it was awesome. The best band since Zep and Jimmy combined was just a major treat for me.I can't tell you how thankful I was that I saw this show 3 times and it was just as good every time. I would have loved to see them do 'Wiser Time' with Jimmy though!
OMG: Jimmy Page's best solo of the 21st century!!! brilliant
Saw this tour in Worcester ma. With special guest Joe Perry. Blew my mind.
Zeppelin is all about the rythem section.
After viewing a whole bunch of these Crowes/Page videos it's obvious to me why this union was formed.
This rythem section NAILS it!!

A true underrated classic from Led Zeppelin.
Not their song though!
so true...jimmy page live would kick ass.I wish i was around to see jimmy live with zeppelin
I'm a huge Crowes fan, but I agree with you. They have that old-school dirty blues style that Zep perfected. CRobinson has that thin, raspy, emotive voice perfect to capture Percy's style, also. Too bad Gorman is no Bonzo, but who is?
Chris i SOOOOOO HIGH....look at his eyes during the harp solo. GREAT page solo, watch how Chris reacts, captured the moment so well.
This is awesome!
Singer is really HOT!!

Goosebumps man. I mean Page is STILL amazing!
Nobody can sing this like Robert.
Chris certainly can!

Jimmy Page and the Crowes=WOW.
Sounds awesome !!!!!!
One of the best Led Zeppelin songs ever
it doesn't get any better
JIMMY WAS ON POINT HERE
Those were the days!

Sometimes he played sloppy drunk and on heroin...and it still sounds GREAT!
+Mark Gelbart: Exactly!
listen to virtual Zeppelin
I think he was great in this album. The guy can be almost unstoppable when sober, so yeah, this is a delightful album to listen to, if only you can filter out one thing: Plant's voice at its worst sounds better than their lead singer.

Jimmy Page just flat out ROCKS!!!
The state of Georgia loves Led Zeppelin.
I think Chris is a great singer, one of the few singers that can do the Zeppelin canon justice(apart from Plant ,nuff said). The Crowes compliment Page really well.I saw them on this tour and it was brilliant.
Dont forget this is live and gigs really sort the men from the boys, set list was really inventive as well
Not a bad harp there either Mr Robinson
I rest my case.............
Jimmy still got it!
awsome...there is few that can cover robert plant...he did a great job...awsome cover
The guitars kicked ass.
pure rock!!
i have this on cd!!
Great tribute! They nailed it. What must it be like to play with Jimmy Page?
Sorry, the Crowes can rock with anyone and hold their own. Great stuff.
Jimmy has power in his solos.
Mother of God!!!
I've yet to understand why these people get so defensive about how "nobody can do it like zep" ...it's like...well no shit... But why wouldn't you want it to happen?? great solo mr page!
@cigarjon1968 --actually i was pleasantly surprised, and that's coming from a zep fanatic !!
nice job on a very under-played song !!
Nice!
This was a great vehicle for Pagey. To have 3 guitars playing really captured the feel he achieved on the studio recording of this song. Awesome. Kudos to the Crowes for learning this tune so well. And Bonham's drum part too!

No PF, J. Page, Black Crowes = None of this. Thank GOD it happened!!!!!! MAGIC!!
Well done sir! Well f###king done brother----------------
I think you are a genius.
Great!
