This is taken from a famous emotional movie from 1995 called "Love Letter" by Shinju Iwai and starring Miho Nakayama, who plays 2 roles in it. Her fiance died 2 years ago when the movie opens, falling into a ravine while mountain climbing. She is still suffering this loss, and while visiting his mother, finds his junior high address in a yearbook, and discovers he lived farther north when younger. So she writes a short letter to her fiance, at that old address, as an attempt at closure. But surprisingly she gets a letter back! Later in the movie, she goes to the snowy mountain where she lost her fiance, and shouts into it "Ogenki Desu Ka?" and replies her own question with "Watashi wa genki desu!" and hears the echos as if it is coming from him. You can find a grainy uploaded YT version of the entire movie (2 hours). I recommend you watch it, it is beautifully done, just like this MV by XG.
