THIS IS BEAUTIFUL I dreamed of making something like this as a child, but had no way of doing so. With my 3d printer, I can probably make most of this myself
I would recommend a simple fome center. Starting out with a more simple design that you can successfully float and control. And then improving upon the next model.
Thanks. I just added edge lighting to the flightdeck. A replacement Island is in the works as the current one is warping under the extreme temps in the shed . That Island is Reagans 2024 version .
Very cool. I wish they're was a garden train around a large pond. Trains and trucks and boats would be moving and you could watch it in person or webcam.
The only thing that would have made this better is if a big 71 was on the side instead of 76. Yep, I was on the TR for 5 years in the 1980s, assigned to it before it was commissioned in 1986.
Very nice build. How much would it cost to build one? I would love one for myself. I was stationed on both the John C Stennis CVN-74 and NIMITZ CVN- 68.
1/144 is the perfect scale at which to model, of course, because there are so so any superbly detailed polystyrene model aircraft available at that scale. With decals, which are nigh-impossible to try to make on your own.
Not accurate at all . This carrier is scratchbuilt hull and deck cobbled from scraps around construction yards and warehouses. Everything is considered and applied with a small budget.
Nice model. Update the island though, Ronald Reagan does not have a separate radar mast (it's in a different class carrier). But, all in all nice work.
Well aware of that. The model is actually Nimitz with some upgrades and modifications for liberty sake. The name was changed for a friend who served on the real ship.
Actually it goes scale speed when fully powered. Has a realistic weight and bow wave. Turns with that lean for a high speed tight turn. Course for realism the camera shutter speed needs to be slowed down 25x for realism. I have several videos with that in mind already posted on my channel.
When I was much much younger, I wanted to make a scale USS Missouri. The scale was going to be based on the 16" main guns, made with functional 12 ga shotguns, lol.
I’m so curious what scale you’d have to build at to make it possible to actually launch and recover RC aircraft. Probably at least 3x this one. It would be an extremely expensive project to do something like that right but damn would it be cool to actually be able to add tail hooks and recover small RC jets.
I have seen videos of planes in this scale launch but indoors. On you tube there are several examples of large rc carriers that launch rc planes and recover them.
Ballast is added along the centerline and lower bilge keel sides. The problem is there is no ballast tanks to shift the water ballast constantly. The real ships use AI to control the ballast tanks and keep the ship roll to a minimum for flight operatons. Not possible for a model . The only thing I could do is attach a deep weighted keel to minimize the roll.
The English language has been reduced to a single word. Gone are words like impressive, fabulous, fantastic, wonderful, spectacular, marvellous, stunning, amazing, stupendous….all gone in favour of the boring “awesome”
I didn't see any smoke from a funnel so I assume, being a USN carrier, it's nuclear powered? It would be nice to see aircraft take off & land but I suppose with the smallest RC jet planes available, the carrier would have to be about 10 metres long & would probably need a permanent pen alongside full-size boats.
Check the postings where additonal flying aircraft added with afterburners and other operating vechicles and aircraft components. The model has had many upgrades since this video .
It has ballast . Lots of it. However it does not have Ai or water ballast tanks such as the real carriers . So it will roll in a breeze or a tight turn.
God bless the plastic men and women who serve on this magnificent creation.
Pleas make 1 to 1 scale rc carrier
😂👍
dude a 1:1 is a 1000 ft real thing..fool

Thanks Einstein! Pretty sure he was joking. You must be a real treat at parties.
@@b.3397You have to be American!
@B-A-L why does he have to be American?
Love it ! Besides the rotating radar , I love the helo near the stern with rotors working 👍
It would be cool to have a floating platform big enough to have RC planes takeoff and land on it as a contest of RC flying skill
There are many videos on youtube of this .
@@16FEET That's why I clicked on this lol. I love watching those videos.
Wow! Excellent job. The craftsmanship is awesome!
What an absolutely fantastic piece of work obviously done by a very patient and clever person.
Very nice model!
Best looking rc carrier I've ever seen
Beautiful model, and I love the name on the stern! 🇺🇸 Well done.
Thank you very much!
Fantastic. Amazing workmanship
That's a beautiful model.
THIS IS BEAUTIFUL

Your CAD skills better be spot-on. Printing something like this is the EASY part. Designing it in CAD is what takes time and skill -- tons of it.
Best to start a little smaller.
I would recommend a simple fome center. Starting out with a more simple design that you can successfully float and control. And then improving upon the next model.
I have seen many model aircraft carriers on the internet, but this one is the most authentic and the best of all.
Thanks. I just added edge lighting to the flightdeck. A replacement Island is in the works as the current one is warping under the extreme temps in the shed . That Island is Reagans 2024 version .
Looks great
Loved the attention to detail, was an awesome boat. But only a minute of footage?
There are more videos much longer in duration here on the channel
Attention to detail? Beautiful and impressive work but a total fantasy on the flight deck (wrong aircraft position, a mix of MV-22 and F-14s 😂)...
@@p.c.9714 The flight crew were drunk.
What a beautiful model !

wow echt schön Top und richtig schön 👍
Great job!!!
Might be the coolest thing ever
Wow. really really cool! I know what i want for christmas 2023
THAT IS OFF THE CHART COOL!!
it's so cool man! it's the greatest i've ever seen!
Im not an RC guy but that is imressive. Nice job.
Looks like the current power level of the royal navy!
voll cool 😀
RR great job!!
WOW What a beauty. Building plans??? plz
Now make it fly. Then invisibility shield
Brilliant ❤❤❤.

😊 Very cool 👍👍👍😎 that's more sea worthy than anything The Chinese government has😅 beautiful model🥇
Very nice build. How much would it cost to build one? I would love one for myself. I was stationed on both the John C Stennis CVN-74 and NIMITZ CVN- 68.
Cost varies depending on materials and equipment involved.
F-14's on the deck💪
Still better than any Chinese carriers.

How much does coast it?

Fun Fact:
This is actually a 1/1 Swiss-Carrier model.
How wonderful😂 So great🎉
Buddy of mine and I built a working floating dry dock that would be able to handle this.
It is so cool 👍

Wow!
It would be so cool to see an rc aeroplane or rc helicopter land or take of on one
You can on Rapid Nadione and other videos on youtube.
Is there any way i can buy the carrier model you have like the price and address of the site
nice speed boat!
Actually it goes scale speed when fully powered. Has a realistic weight and bow wave. Turns with that lean for a high speed tight turn. Course for realism the camera shutter speed needs to be slowed down 25x for realism. I have several videos with that in mind already posted on my channel.
i think it would be kool to make a few models bigger so you can lay/sit on it like a lawn lounge chair and fish for stuff.
Rainbow Trout detected. Fire the torpedoes.
That has been done. Seen it on UA-cam
Best send that to the Red Sea. 👍
When I was much much younger, I wanted to make a scale USS Missouri. The scale was going to be based on the 16" main guns, made with functional 12 ga shotguns, lol.
Super ❤
This is nice nice. And awesome awesome.
Best thing? It’s powered by a 1/144 nuclear reactor inside! 😂
But does it have a 1MC on the bridge?
Nice

What vessel is this a scale model of?
Nimitz class carrier.
Sweet, next step is micro drone fighters.
Already in the works.
Imagine if a jet took off
would be cool if one of those helicopters was another RC unit and someone could take off and land it while it was on the water.
There are videos of that on UA-cam. Very very very hard to do.
@@16FEET oh yeah i know. we appreciate you doing it. was just an idea. wasnt a criticism.
It doesn'tget any better than that!
Whoa
Maybe add ballast to reduce the roll? If you can without changing the water line.

WOW
Needs a 1/144 RC Seahawk!
They are hard to get and expensive.
RC Aircraft Carrier 1/144
Are you nuts ?
Be cool to have one big enough to land radio control aircraft and helicopters on.
RAPID NADIONE on UA-cam has done this plus others as well.
did you make this or can i buy one somewhere?
Scratchbuild
“The singular apostrophe meant inches, right? This doesn’t seem like a usual carrier blueprint to me.”
Singular is feet. double is inches.
@@16FEETWelp, the builders messed that up royally. But this is freakin AWESOME.
This is so cool, is it nuclear powered
In 1/144 it is .
I wanna put a 1/144 Gundam on the deck
👍👍👍
i wanna see a RC carrier launching RC fighters. do that.
Check out Rapid Nadione on youtube. They have done this with 2 models.
The English language has been reduced to a single word. Gone are words like impressive, fabulous, fantastic, wonderful, spectacular, marvellous, stunning, amazing, stupendous….all gone in favour of the boring “awesome”
Ok neat but, can it actually launch RC planes?
Too small. Need a carrier double the size.
Wait the minute.. so much rain and flood got the navy carrier drifting in to lake????
Climate change can do that.
16 feet. How much is that in Cheese burgers?
Kept waiting for one of the aircraft to deploy! 😢
Not possible .
Cut end by 5 seconds.
Wouls be perfect if a real rc plane could start from this boat
I have seen it done only once on one model but only indoors using the same scale.
I want this
its an older version noticed F 14 tomcats on deck
I believe the tomcats went away in 2006
Those Merlin helicopter's at the stern?
CH-50 I think .
@@16FEET
Yep they're very similar at the rear

Rapid Nadione on UA-cam done it with a 13 ft model .
Now get an RC plane to land on the deck.
I would need a 13 foot long flightdeck for that. Mine is only 8ft.
Only cool if the aircraft were completely operational.
Check the postings where additonal flying aircraft added with afterburners and other operating vechicles and aircraft components. The model has had many upgrades since this video .
If I saw you towing this down the road I would be like “look son…there’s a nerd”
Yeah but I would be the coolest Nerd.
Now get mini rc planes on it
I would need to build a 13 ft RC aircraft carrier for that to happen.
Still better then china's...
Do you have an RC plane to land on it?...lol
Too small. Need a bigger carrier.
Is it nuclear powered?
Only in 1/144 scale
I can put my HG gundam on there
Needs ballast so it does not bobbbbbbllleee
It has ballast . Lots of it. However it does not have Ai or water ballast tanks such as the real carriers . So it will roll in a breeze or a tight turn.
None of the planes fly? 😂

The USS Ronald Reagan. The last of the Nimitz Class carriers.
Must have been freezing cold standing in the water filming this.
This was in late April or early May which up here means the water is still very cold. Can feel it through the chest waders.
