It's so much fun to follow your vlog - you always bring up wonderful memories for me. Drinking the red wine at the door/gate was amazing - I didn't have a cup either so I just scooped it up in my hands - red wine all over the place. I am sure I smiled for a whole hour after drinking it. Such an awesome experience. I know you guys have completed your walk, but for anyone else reading this, I didn't get any blisters because of the double sock method. I wish I had known about this back when I was in the infantry! Basically, apply body/foot glide to the balls of your feet and toes, then slip on the sock liners (like gloves for the feet where each toe fits into a slot), then the merino wool socks on top of those. The combination of these three things reduces the friction on your toes/feet from your footwear. Magnificent. Give it a try next time!
Morning Mark....Lol, yes the wine experience was brilliant and such a talking point with other pilgrims taking part in it. We did get told that drinking it out of the scallop was customary...but we think that you get much more wine with the 'mouth to tap' method 🤣 Very good advice on the blister control 👍
Hey The Walking Veteran...we have just got sleeping liners and found them to be fine. Saying that, Spain is currently experiencing a heatwave at the moment! We normally have our fleece jackets at the end of our beds so that we can put them on if we do get cold during the night. Good luck for 3 weeks time, you will love the journey...Buen Camino and let us know how you get on 👣
@@EverydayJourneysTV Thanks for replying ❤... I will (as you guys) try to post a short daily summary here on youtube... so follow me here and see what's to come😊... Start walking July 4th😍
Nothing is as good some unsolicited advice from a complete stranger (lol) but if your shoes are giving you blisters then you need some new ones. Preferably with ones with a wide toe box such as Altra or Topo. Lots of places along the camino to buy new shoes. It costs enough to do the camino that it isn’t worth not throwing out shoes that cause blisters. Or at least that’s my experience. Also there are medical clinics along the camino that do a wonderful job of treating blisters if they get to that stage. Pilgrims get free treatment. Don’t know what it is about the camino, maybe all the walking on hard surfaces day after day, but whatever it is, it makes your feet swell and so many shoes these days, especially women’s shoes, have a narrow toe box that works fine for normal wear but not for the camino. I will now get off my soap box and wish you all the very best and buen camino.
Hey Picking Up Sticks...all advise is greatly received 👍. As time progresses (videos are a little behind where we actually are 😱) blisters are starting to reduce...but other foot injuries are starting to appear 😳.
Hey Harry...yep, we are on the road and editing. We have got some good rest days planned in and this is when we catch up (once the feet are up and airing in the Spanish heat) 👍How was your journey?
@@EverydayJourneysTV wow, that’s some serious dedication to be editing while on the road. I take my hat off to you! I’ve been back from the Camino for 2.5 weeks now so gradually making my way through the VOLUMES of data that I shot 🙈🙈🙈 I’m still processing how I feel post Camino and about it generally. I’m so pleased that I did it, but there were definitely a few days where I hated it and it was my worst enemy hahaha. Look out for an amazing pizza 🍕 restaurant run by two Italian brothers in Foncebadon (it was one of the yummiest meals that I had!)
@@harryjamesroth We know that feeling of loving it and hating it...it is not until you have done it/on it that you really appreciate its magnitude. We are on the look out for the pizza (we have a 15 year old....what else do they eat? 🤣). We love looking at the content that we caught and saying 'remember that?' as there is so much to try and remember.

Oh lucky you! Both times I walked along the Bodegas Irache the fountain was not open yet! :D
There was a queue behind us so it had to be a quick gulp and then carry on, otherwise we might have been there for most of the morning 🥴
Wow that fountain of life would give you an extra boost 🤣🤣🤣
It certainly did....and also dribbled most of the way down my chin, Louise achieved a much better capture of the wine 🤣
4 little hobbits on the road. Just keep the food going!! Need at least 2th breakfast
Lol - Henry (15 year old) has hollow legs, no matter how much we feed him he is always hungry! 🤣
@@EverydayJourneysTV whahaha
Yes, We stayed at the albergue and I always say I slept with 49 if my new best friends! I enjoyed it, but it is maybe not for everyone?
Lol...that is a very good way of looking at it 😃
Hi..is it OK to sleep with just a sleeping liner, or do you recommend bringing sleepingbag as well? (I'm starting in 3 weeks)
