Wow! I absolutely loved this video! I learned a lot about myself! Thank you for the free therapy, I really appreciate it! I’m a sentimentalist and habit keeper. Thankfully, I’m working on it, and having a lot of success! Thanks again for sharing these decluttering personalities Taryn!!! 😁
There is another category. It's the 'slob' category, where their way of cleaning is to randomly shove things into storage, out of sight, and forget about it, and put off for years dealing with it so things just accumulate. Thats my husband. Is how, once I tackled his space because he was never going to do it, found multiples of things like 20 of the same hammer, screwdriver, etc. All over!
I would argue that falls under the evader category. Shoving it somewhere means that you don't have to deal with it in your main space, so you can more easily procrastinate and pretend the clutter doesn't exist. Out of sight, out of mind! Depending on the motivation, other clutter styles could play a part, like habit keeping. I might not have used an item for a long time, but I might need it later...so if I put it in the attic or the garage, I still have it "just in case" but I can pretend it isn't clutter, because it isn't taking up space in an area where I spend a lot of time daily.
I am all of these. Holding on to mom's dad's and sisters stuff, sentimental, just in case. My friend is helping me go thru it with hard questions and decisions. I get stressed out but I know I have to downsize since I can only afford a one bedroom now and limited storage.

That’s more of a procrastinator, I think. I do that when company comes over. 😂And then when I have to declutter I get overwhelmed.
Shoving things out of sight - I do this too! Trying to get over this habit now though :)
