Great review Brando for a movie I've never heard of. I shall check it out as each year I love discovering older movies. P.S. remember this is your channel. Do with it as you wish regardless of the comments. Take care buddy
Great review! One of my favorite films. The 2002 remake is worth watching. It answers some of your questions about how the machine works and affects objects and people hanging on to it during travel.
I really enjoyed our watchalong for this last month Brandon! There is the Guy Pearce remake which is good but I still prefer this one. I plan to give you for Christmas TIME AFTER TIME (1979) where H.G. Wells pursues Jack the Ripper through time.
@SK-lk3iu I totally agree! I think Brandon will love that one! I loved the chemistry between Malcolm McDowell and Mary Steenburgen! And David Warner was absolutely menacing as Jack the Ripper! 😁
4:34 In the book, the hands holding on him loosened & he found himself racing ahead in the familar grey light. Nothing said about the passage back. In the mankindless future, when the giant crabs 🦀 antennas caressed him, he put one month between him & the critters.
This is an unpopular opinion, but I actually really liked 'The Time Machine' remake from the 2000s starring Guy Pearce. Sure, its not perfect and it is a little undercooked, but it has some great visuals, amazing music, cool creature VFX and Guy Pearce is great as always. I recommend you see it now that you've seen the (great) original film.
I've always enjoyed this movie. I do take a bit of exception, however, to your apologies for all the plot holes....I think that most modern Sci-fi movies have plenty of plot holes as well, that's why they're Science fiction! Also, comparison to Mary Poppins???....Just cuz it's in the same time period, a pretty big stretch, haha! Otherwise, great review!
The time period of the story, the time when it was made, the effects, the music, the cinematography… more than just the time period. And yes, sci-fi movies have plot holes…
One of my favourite films of all time 🎥👍🏻
Really that’s awesome

Thanks for the info!
Rod Taylor was such a talented actor of his time. RIP to him
Totally!
Shame I missed the watch along. Will have to check it out at some point.
It’s a fun one!

Haha ALL the time machine movies...
Yes! I was going to suggest Time After Time....both fun and creepy, with charm & romance as well. A great follow-up to The Time Machine.

I’ve only ever seen the guy Pearce remake but I’d love to see the original
Didn't even know there was a remake until watching this one!

@@BrandoCritic Yes, I get your thinking, it was the 60's, just having trouble seeing the comparison. Sorry!
Will you be reviewing more classic movies?
I reviewed this one because it was sent to me in the mail from a subscriber! I definitely plan on doing more videos on classic movies in the future
@@BrandoCritic And I'll help to the extent you have the time to take requests.
