This album "A Similitude Of A Dream" is based on on the book Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan which was originally published in 1678. It follows a man weighed down with spiritual guilt, who must leave his home in the City Of Destruction to go to the Celestial City.
It's crazy how a writing that old mean so much to me. I think it means something for every christian who read it.
I listened to the album before I knew it was inspired from that book and yet I thought to myself: "This sounds so familiar to Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress". I forgot that the book actually started with the narrator defending that the story he is about to tell is framed as a dream.
The book is a must read; the album is a must listen to. It resembles the story quite great.

Similitude Of A Dream is one tremendous album,guys! This is the finale..all songs (roads) lead to this spectacular end piece. THe entire album is a concept based on The Pilgrim's Progress. This song/ album is amazing,i saw them play this live in manchester,uk,it was jaw dropping.
Five of the most talented muscians on the same stage with amazing chemistry,very similar to rush in that respect.
The follow up album ,the great adventure is definitely worth checking out.

The Door is off his solo album, Sola Scriptura. It’s not from The NMB. Definitely one of his best works though, would love to see a reaction. I only see two reaction videos to anything NM related on UA-cam 😭

In my opinion, to fully appreciate this song, you must listen to the entire album. It is a concept album. Isolated like this, it’s difficult to understand the song and its context. Neal Morse is one of my favourite artists.
