I've been waiting for you to review this album for a few weeks now LOL, this is my favorite album of all time ever! I play guitar and love the vocals and all of the great guitar ideas and sounds on this album, they are truly my favorite but I have to say that this is the first album ever, as a guitarist, that when I listen to it the drums inspire me so much that I can't listen to it without getting tingles from how amazing the drumming performance is. Thank you for this amazing masterpiece, I honestly listen to it every single day for the last 10 years of my life. I absolutely cannot wait until the next album and to see you guys again in the US!
This is seriously probably my favorite album from you guys. I love them all of course but this album is, as you put it, epic in design and gives me chills because it’s so intricate and layered in every freaking song. Beauty. Pure beauty. Thanks so much for doing these interviews guys! BG forever
I absolutely agree with Hansi. The drums on "A Night at the Opera" are just amazing, both in terms of Thomen's playing and arrangements, and in terms of the sound and production. Thomen may not think so, but it's probably his best performance ever.
0:56 Andre confirms they produce the albums at 96KHz. Release some FLACs!!! Vinyls are awesome and all, but I can't bring them to the gym with me. (well, if I'm being honest, 96KHz FLACs would probably dominate and/or exceed the SD card on my music player, but still)
The story's pretty clear: Thomen didn't like the music they were making anymore and apparently they just weren't getting along very well on a personal level either. People grow apart, it happens. Just the fact that they stayed together for so long to bring out so many masterpieces is something we should be thankful for!
Another classic BG album. I’ll admit I was first taken aback with the complexity and mixing of the album, it wasn’t until years later that I appreciated this cd as a very underrated and masterful work in the legacy of Blind Guardian.
What to say.. my favorite album! Keep up the interviews, please. 🤘 (..but maybe someone should clue in Charlie B. that Hansi's name isn't pronounced Hensi. 🙃 ).
The band is in a comfort zone with Charlie and it shows in the terrible sound of their last records. It's amazing that they are still with this guy. You need to see different people, open up a bit to have fresh ears. You are so into the details that you lost focus on the big picture.
@@HeavyMetalSonicRM YES. I'm so glad other people see/hear this. Bands need to work with different producers and challenge themselves. The last Blind Guardian and Helloween albums both sound so sterile and overproduced. It's a real shame. Btw, I'd never call Charlie a hack. He's clearly a super talented dude, but he has a tendency to overproduce everything nowadays.
Blind Guardian é minha banda do coração cara. Brasil -RS - Cerro Largo!
I just want to ask something, Where's the ¨let's celebrate the dawning of the son¨ part in Precious Jerusalem??? It's the worst thing they could do to a masterpiece like this... besides it doesn't sound right, it sounds strange. Why did they remove it???????
2:04 10km is approximately 6.21miles. Of course that's meaningless and the time it takes to get there depends entirely on how populated the area is, speed limits, traffic, time of day, etc. (although I heard the German Autobahn has no speed limit?)
At 10 km chances are pretty good that there is no Autobahn usefull or at least only for a minor part of the time spent. Also depends on the specific route, some parts have speed limits.
Aber was will man machen?
I just can't get enough of these album interviews!!!

A Night at the Opera is a masterpiece! I'm loving these interviews

Best BG album. THE BG ALBUM. and the most wonderful Thomen legacy. I hope in some sort of special tour for anniversaries of this masterpiece.
Love.
10 kilometers = just over 6 miles. 🙄Europeans... I think my highschool was farther away than that.
The last Blind Guardian to have drums that sound REAL and powerful. Beg the Omen to return.
I absolutely agree with Hansi. The drums on "A Night at the Opera" are just amazing, both in terms of Thomen's playing and arrangements, and in terms of the sound and production. Thomen may not think so, but it's probably his best performance ever.
The album that got I’m into Blind Guardian to begin with. Awesome to finally get to hear a bit more about it!

No Thomen to shed light on how it all came apart?
The story's pretty clear: Thomen didn't like the music they were making anymore and apparently they just weren't getting along very well on a personal level either. People grow apart, it happens. My favorite BG album. "Wait for an Answer" is my favorite song, sadly that it will probably never be played live though :(
Mine too. I agree on it never being played live. Seen them twice and hoped but unfortunately was not played. Someday..........
We're all still waiting for 'Battlefield' to be played live
Love that song. I'd also love to see "The Maiden and the Minstrel Knight". I don't think they've ever played it live either.
9:00 it was already epic enough!
It's great knowing I'm not alone in breaking computer systems😅
Another classic BG album. I’ll admit I was first taken aback with the complexity and mixing of the album, it wasn’t until years later that I appreciated this cd as a very underrated and masterful work in the legacy of Blind Guardian.
This is THE Blind Guardian's MASTERPIECE!!! 8 years of listening and still can't get enough of it...
What to say.. my favorite album! Keep up the interviews, please. 🤘 (..but maybe someone should clue in Charlie B. that Hansi's name isn't pronounced Hensi. 🙃 ).
probably my favorite album.
MAIDEN AND THE MINSTREL KNIGHT!!!
My dream is to see Guardian perform Wait For An Answer live.
same with Battlefield
In my opinion prob this is their best album ever
Opera is perfect in my book!
Leave Hansi outside 😆

Helloween is stuck with this hack, too. Recent albums from both bands have a really fake production that ruins the listening experience.

aw yeah my favorite album

Like in the remasters or something? I have all the original CDs, so I've never heard any of the remasters or re-releases.
