Yes PLEASE! it's my absolute favorite from "Die blinden Gardinen" as they humorusly announced themself in our hometown. ("the blind curtains") Greetings from Krefeld, Germany =D
"Is Hansi even have to sing"... nope, he could do a whole concert without speaking, the crowd would fill in all the lyrics. :) Tickets for the 2021 arrived today :D
Well the peoples I know call Blind Guardians style Bard Metal. The crowd participation on the live album Tokyo Tales is so good. But the most legendary crowd participation is "Valhalla" in the video from the "Imaginations Through the Looking Glass" Tour. When you think the song is over continue to watch. The expression on Hansis face as he wondered whats going on is priceless. The tale is that the crowd is still singing to this day. Man how I wish I could have been there... Song recommendation... well there is a lot... from the early speed metal days clearly "Majesty", "Banish from Sanctuary", "Welcome to Dying", "Traveler in Time", "A Quest for Tanelorn", "The Script for my Requiem"... any one of these songs is a banger and a chorus to sing along to. The whole album Nightfall of Middlearth is such a big tribute and is worth listening to as a whole. Another song to react and... sing along to from this album is "Nightfall" For slower songs like the Bard song with folk touches "A past and future secret" (based on a book about king arthur), "The Lord of the Rings", "Skalds and Shadows" and my personal favorite" Curse my name" (based on a medieval book that is themed around to hold nobility responsible infront of the law) the middle part of the song when layer after layer comes in and builds up.. Over the years Blind Guardian added more and more symphonic elements into their songs. A highly recommendation is the 14 minute epic "And then there was silence" which is about the fall of Troy. "Wheel of Time" is another great song with some oriental touches to it which covers the epic book series wheel of time. I recommend for both songs the album versions, probably lyric video. I have not seen a good live video. And as nerds as Blind Guardian for sure are they have an ingame concert song "Sacred Worlds" in the game Sacred 2. "Children of the Smith" is also dedicated to the game The Dwarves which is based on a book series by german fantasy author Markus Heitz. Blind Guardian are fans of the books and met the author. Markus Heitz was in close contact with the developers of the game and so developers asked if they could use a Blind Guardian Song in their game. Markus Heitz called Blind Guardian making the request and Blind Guardian basically said yes, but we make you a new song (with a symphonic orchestra and a whole choir). The latest album which is pure orchestra concept album no eguitar, no bass, no drums, just Hansi singing is based also on one of the books of the german fantasy author. The album continues the story of the book. The idea of an orchestra album and the music material was about 20 years in the making. Its something totally different. controversial but I love it. To me its a showcase that they could do music for a tv show or a movie. Two official lyric videos "Point of no return" and "This storm". Personally I prefer "This Storm". Well I think there is more but this gives some insight into the band and I hope they get more attention as they clearly deserve it but most important their music deserved to be heard. Thank you for your reaction.
I think the ultimate goal of Blind Guardian is to play an entire concert with only crowd participation vocals, and they could legitimately achieve it I think.
Yeah, one of the more unique things Blind Guardian is known for is André pretty much constantly playing lead-work under Hansi's vocals. He also has a style of playing rather classical sounding melodies. As such, it doesn't really come as a surprise that he's a big fan of and largely inspired by Brian May. Hansi is also very much inspired by Freddie Mercury in his singing, and the way he layers his vocals in studio recordings, which is another staple of Blind Guardian. So you could say Blind Guardian, in many ways, is basically the Queen of power metal, heh. You might've also noticed the video in this one was cut from several different shows during one of their tours a few years back (though the audio is obviously just from one show). That's why the video looks kinda jittery at times.
Super happy Hansi/Blind Guardian get a 'full treatment'. There are so many 'smaller' bands that often get overshadowed by the bigger ones (not calling Blind Guardian small, but you hopefully get what I mean). Blind Guardian deserves more attention on social media for the long time they've been around and work so hard still. On that note, I hope Kamelot will get the full treatment too by a very special person 😉
Blind Guardian is one of my all-time favorites. Nightfall in Middle Earth is such an amazing album. I really admire how they evolved over time from a basic speed metal band to epic power metal bordering on prog occasionally. I wish there was a video for "Sadly Sings Destiny." That's a helluva song. Hansi sings most of that second verse down an octave from the original recording (makes sense, it's live and he used to rip his voice apart trying to always stay true to the recording). He's really improved and become a stronger live singer over the years.
@@TankTheTech Last year they released an album around The Dark Tower with full orchestra, also quite nice. (Twilight Orchestra: Legacy of the Dark Lands is the albums name)
Just to be a little nitpicky, it's not a "Lord of the Rings album". It's based on the Silmarillion, not Lord of the Rings. Same author, same world, but completely different books.
There's a video from a concert in Wacken, I think, "The bard song" and "Valhalla" are joined in the video... And the crowd sings it all. Hansi was a conductor. Amazing. I love them. And Hansi's voice is magic! He said that he is inspired with Freddie Mercury and Ronnie James Dio. What a combo! The God landed those three on the Earth to take us breaths away every time we hear their songs.
Andre is a very underrated guitarist. He has a uneque style that is all about serving the song and never serving his own ego, like how most lead guitarist perform. He is never about ripping technical solos. His solos are always melodic, in a lot of cases you can sing along with them. It's one of the stand out component of Blind Guardian that make them uneque sounding, and that in part is all thinks to Andre's lead guitar work. Yes, you need to go see this band live. They rarely tour the States so it's a special event every time they tour here, so don't miss your opportunity if and when they come by. They are a very fun band to see live. It's even better if you get to know their music. I know you want to save them for reactions, but this band is a sing along with kind of band. Every song they write is designed to sing along with and that is part of the fun and excitement of going to a Blind Guardian concert. They always play the classics. The older songs are always a hit with the audience, and these three songs are a live staple of the band. Also, to answer your question, this song, Mirror Mirror, is from their album, Nightfall in Middle-Earth, which is a concept album based on Tolkien's book, The Silmarillion. It's one of their most popular albums. Go listen to that album from start to finish. Also, check out their album "Imaginations From The Other Side", which is by far the bands heaviest album. These two albums are by far my favorite two albums from the band. I also would like to point out that on both these albums they worked with producer Flemming Rasmussen, who is famous for producing Metallica's "...And Justice For All", "Ride The Lighting", and "Master of Puppets" albums. Make sure to check out Demon's & Wizards, side project band of Hansi (Blind Guardian) and guitarist Jon Schaffer (Iced Earth). They sound like a perfect blind of Iced Earth and Blind Guardian. Listen to their song "Fiddler On The Green". It's literally on my list as one of my top 10 favorite song of all time. Check out "Fiddler on the Green - Live at Wacken Open Air 2019".
@@thecreetree3434 Same, the solos and leads that he plays stick in my head more than any other lead player. Plus Hansi's vocals, Marcus rhythms and Fredrick's drums, perfect combination to make my favorite power metal band. Seventh Wonder is also my favorite prog band. Yes, they are both at number 1 for me.
Demons and Wizards is Hansi and Jon Shaffer of Iced Earth, 3 CDs 2000 self titled, '05 Crimson King, concept based on The Dark Tower and '20 III features guitar virtuoso Jake Dryer ( Witherfall)🤘😈🤘
Blind Guardian and the crowd have a symbiotic relationship. For example, I do not think they ever actually sung the whole "The bard's Song" live. I would bet they do not even remember all the words anymore. Just the opening lines, and then they sit back and enjoy the performance.
Blind Guardian will forever be my favorite Metal band, I love them so much. Hansi's voice is so beautiful and Andre is fricking GOD on that guitar. Nightfall on Middle Earth favorite album hands down but Twist in the Myth is a close second, especially with the song "Fly". I have been to see them live every chance I get, nothing has stopped me and nothing will. They are a must see.
Guardian have the most distinctive sound in power metal, a lot of it being because Hansi is so unique but as a whole they're just so different from other bands like Rhapsody or Symphony X or Bal Sagoth etc, they sound nothing like anyone else.
Aaah, finally some Blind Guardian again ! Just my two cents but I'd recommend And Then There Was Silence from them one of these days. It is an epic 15 minutes song about the Trojan War. The studio version may be deeper and more "dense" in a way but the live version is just as epic ! :)
New to this here. Fun FUN channel man. Blind Guardian is my #1.5 fave band, behind only Maiden (by .5!) I am in Canada, but have been lucky enough to catch BG bout 26times now. Top shows being Blind Guardian open Air in 2003, and 70,000 Ton of Metal 2015. They are RIGHT there with Maiden for greatest Live metal bands to see. DO NOT miss them when they come remotely near ya! Haven't dug too deep into your vids yet, But give And Then There Was Silence a go, if you have not, THE most epic song they have ever done... Cheers!
Songs to listen to: 1) Fiddler on the Green (Demons & Wizards) 2) And then there was silence (BG) 3) Dracula (Iced Earth - with Matt Barlow on the stage (live version))
I'd definitely recommend listening to the whole album in one go, it really does take you on a journey. Great reaction as always, looking forward to more Blind Guardian from you!
I made this comment on your last video, but they really do love these big, grand, crowd oriented songs during their live shows. A trademark of their albums is much a part of what you see here. The studio album chorus' sound like a hundred people singing and chanting, and because of that the songs lend themselves really well to allow the audience to participate as you have mentioned in this video and the previous one where you reviewed The Bards Song and Valhalla. Having seen them live, it's every bit of what you have said about being blown away by the crowd participation. Now go check out the Wacken performance of The Gunslinger by Demons and Wizards. I think you will see a few familiar faces! ;)
If you want Blind Guardian to completely blow your mind give "And Then There Was Silence" live a shot. (the 2004 Imaginations Through the Looking Glass version).
As a German metal head who had the privilege to be in many of their shows I just can say: it’s even more epic when you are between all the voices. They are just everyone’s favourite- always. The have a way with the crowd. It’s magic.
Im so freaking happy you like them! "Discovered" them myself last year and listened through the whole discography. What an epic band. If you want more European power metal do check out Helloween! Eagle Fly Free or Keeper of the Seven Keys is two of my favorites by them
I've caught Blind Guardian on almost every tour since 2007, highly recommended! No movies or flames or frills, they just turn on some stage lights and blast through their best stuff and the crowd sings every one and it's fucking awesome and no matter how hard I try to preserve my voice I'm hoarse every time.
Welcome to the rabbit hole. Blind Guardian exists for quite some years now and their discography is quite big :) I have my older brother to thank for my childhood filled with "imaginations from the other side" (brilliant album by the way)
Blind Guardian is the band that got me into metal 17 years ago: one summer a friend of mine just forced me to listen to the Nightfall in Middle-Earth album and that was it. Seen them live several times and it's always amazing. Since you seem to be enjoying them a lot you may consider watching one of their full concerts here on youtube and maybe split that into multiple videos, you'll have a blast.
in my eyes (ears), Blind Guardian is by far the best live experience you can have. The way Hansi works with the fans is absolutely brilliant. And his voice is simply amazing Have a look at "The Vocal Range of Hansi Kürsch " here on YT
This band is so bad ass! Always has been and always will be! I think the other amazing thing about this band is that English is not their native language! To write not just songs but entire albums in another language is totally mind blowing to me! Love it! Keep rockin’ it out! 🤘🏻
Olbrich really isn't talked up as much as he should be as a guitarist. That's probably because he doesn't do too much super flashy technical things, but his ability to just string along great melodies is top tier.
Yeah, that' what I found most impressive to the first chorus. Those 110% Wah-Wah-Pedal leads switching into Power Metal Riffing for the chorus and after the chorus in this even heavier style (sorry, I'm no guitarist)...it's just rad!
So happy you enjoy Blind Guardian! They are terrific underrated!!! Please watch also: Somewhere Far Beyond! Next year they are going to celebrate 30th anniversary 🤘
Oooh I heard In Flames in the background. Speaking of them, I just got their comic book The Jester's Curse - Lunar Strain pt.1 at Value Village yesterday. Gold find! Not sure if part 2 already came out.
I guess Germany likes Blind Guardian vey much. I'm from their neibourhood country. I like it too. Very much. Hansi is guest singer in Ayreon and right Ajan is. BG Is a pioneer in power metal with their own twitch. ANd it sounds great! Thx for your reaction Tank!
You would have loved Eastern Europe in the late 90s early 2000. We did reactions too. Hearing something like this, Napster, DC Connnect, download full discography and then the entire dorm was busy for a week!
I've seen Blind Guardian twice at festivals. 2002 at Wacken Open and man that was amazing. They ended the festival then. Other bands I saw there was Edguy, Kreator, Exodus, Bruce Dickinson and Savatage among others. Our neighbours at the camping were german and they had a rebuild firetruck and invited us for bbq every night. But that Blind Guardian concert was the highlight of the decade for me! I also saw Blind Guardian on Sweden Rock 2003 but it was in the middle of the day so not AS fantastic but man they are so good live.
Yeah!!! My all-time favorites are "The Soulforged" and "Time stands still (at the iron hill)"...great ones. Also "Rebellion" from Grave Digger with Hansi live is a blast. Great, folky, sing alongs...goosebump alert!!
Tank, you MUST see them live, when it will be possible again. I was in Düsseldorf in 2002/2003, when the album "Live" was recorded and I stll get goosebumps when I think about "The Bard's Song". The crowd continued partying for more than 3 minutes afterwards. It was just awesome 🤩🖤
The best reaction out of many reactions to this great song... Blind Guardian live 20 minutes from my home in western Germany... great melodic songs! Thanks! 👍🤘
I had never lsitened to this band before and only heard of them in passing before this reaction. After watching your reaction, they have been added to my "Tank/Chase further Listens" playlist to be checked out more later. your facts helped me get to know both the band and their music as I enjoyed the song and reaction. Thanks Tank!
I just started to watch reacts few month ago but none catched me like you do Dude. I like your possitive energy and smiling all over the face.Keep this up .............Subscribed
and i just realise that i watch this in a loop while working on the server, having a blast and just realised one of my favorite songs is playing in the intro section. In Flames Cloud connected. am i right? ^^ I know that refrain. Dude this song is so powerfull! Also its just such a joy to see your roadieheart go up when the audience participates like that.
listen to hansi singing on Ayreon man. freaking amazing. Age Of Shadows live (with Marko from nightwish), or Everybody Dies (with another 30 singers, lol)
I discovered them with "somewhere far beyond" and there were a few times when I thought they lost their touch for power metal, but that changed and they are stronger now than ever before. And I just love Hansi`s voice. From a german standpoint it`s cracy that there are 3 or 4 german singers in the power metal genre that would be in the competition for best power metal vocalist: Hansi Kürsch, Michael Kiske, Andy Deris and Toby Sammet and I´m sure I forgot a few other great ones here.
If you wanna break your neck headbanging, listen to their song "I'm Alive". Or if you wanna see the TRUE genius of them, listen to "Thorn", from the same album that "Mirror Mirror" comes from. Or even "Time stands still at the iron hill"
Nightfall is another great one by them and my personal favorite of theirs is Curse My Name, this band is easily in my top 5 best of all time, let alone metal :D I love the folk-like aesthetic they always have in their songs, even the heavier ones. Their concerts are always super fun to go to, I call it "chant metal" lol
I see a few people recommending "And The There Was Silence" and while I do agree, based on your reaction to the Islander? Maiden and The Minstrel Knight. I can't find any evidence (on youtube anyway) that they ever did it live. So studio version.. but yeah.
Quick follow up based on your question about Mirror Mirror, yes, it IS on nightfall on Middle Earth, but Hansi's on record as saying that it was left over from the Imaginations recording sessions and went in because they didn't want to waste it. But it makes more sense in the Imaginations storyline. Much more sense. When you've got more BG experience under your belt, Legacy of the darklands is a must...
Hey hey!! Great reaction man, guardians are one of my favourite too. There's a masterpiece that called "In my land". Made by six different folk metal bands on six different languages, five bands each takes their part while one is lead the storyline.... This is something that I never seen before.
Honestly, very great reaction, as always. Me as a German metal fan, have seen BG live of course and I can tell you from the bottom of my heart, don‘t you ever take this band of your bucket list to see live. They are very impressive but the crowd is part of the show. They now every word from every song. After a concert you can barley talk so much you have sung.
My inner elf was waiting for this so bad. Early BG faster and shorter songs like valhalla, highlights: the last candle, run for the night, traveler in time. Post nightfall on Middle-Earth, longer songs with more orchestration and mid paced, highlights: wheel of time, and there was silence. Can't recomend other songs from nightfall cuz they all so good jajaja.
Blind Guardian is such a unique Band, Hansi was once asked what kind of Metal they play Powermetal or Speemetal Hansi smiled and answered "Melodic Bombast Metal" and yeah i think this fist perfect for what BG is doing :)
When I first heard Blind Guardian I wasn’t that into them, but when I started learning the guitar parts I got hooked. So many songs of theirs are just so much fun to play. Really recommend And Then There Was Silence, it’s just epic. Also Bright Eyes is great aswell. Also they did a cover of Your The Voice by John Farnham. Iconic Aussie song if you don’t know it.
I'm german Blind Gurdian was some kind of my starting Drug to Power Metal and until today i love this Band so much. I proudfuly wear my Band Shirts Yout realy should listen to Avantasia - let the Storm desend upon you from the Ghostlights Album
I'm so glad i've descovered this band since they released their first demo tape in Germany. Huge impact in Greece and they have a very huge fan club here.
I really dug the yellow/amber gels they were utilizing in the lighting scheme for this song. It lent a warm ambiance, which makes a lot of sense with their signature crowd engagement. Gave me a very... well, welcoming feeling. As stage personalities go, they kind of feeli like they would be at home on the same card as Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly. Different music styles by degrees, but the fellowship and crowd connection is so similar.
As a stagehand that has set up for these guys before.... The only song you need to hear to understand what these guys are about is the song "And then there was Silence."
That song is based on early parts of Silmalirion book. Book is kinda whole history od Middle Earth. Lord of the rings ale a minor episode (3 pages at most) in that book. And whole "nightfall story is placed way earlier than LOTR. It explains how and why elves ho to the Middle Earth on the first place and why it is wat it is. And it (whole album) is worth listening at once cos it is complete storytelling.
I attended 70,000 Tons of Metal earlier this year, back in Jan/ Feb. Blind Guardian was on board, and I had never heard of them before, but I was aware there was a ton of hype for them. Holy crap, they were amazing! And they basically had a sing along for Bard song. I met them afterwards in a meet and greet as well, super cool dudes.
There is a video on youtube, where someone cut all of André's Soli from their Live DVD from Coburg together. Always seems to be a song inside the song.
one of the genius things about blind guardian songs and their live performances is that every song has that one part that anyone can immediately pick up and join in. makes their performances incredibly fun.
not sure if there's a good live video, but Wheel of Time is an absolutely epic song of theirs. definitely in my top favorites, and worth a reaction for sure
In my limited experience, Blind Guardian is ALWAYS this good live. Let me recommend a few more of their songs for you- Nighfall, Sacred Worlds, Tanelorn, and And Then There Was Silence are some of my favorites. But it's really hard to go wrong with anything they've done.
Imaginations from the other side. Production wise one of the coolest Studio Albums of Guardian. recorded 94 oder 95 but also a remastered Version from 2007 is on the market. You should check this Album. If you like epic openings to songs etc. Leads and drums next level :-)
What I really love about their guitar playing is the tone. It comes across even better on the studio albums. They have this very unique wailing sound in the leads, I can't remember hearing anyone else with a similar one.
Two other great german power metal bands were mentioned in the chat, Helloween and Gamma Ray. Stuff from last years is particularly interesting, because the band reunited with most of the former members. Including all three singers. I Want Out ua-cam.com/video/gpIc32shXH4/v-deo.html (great song for this year) Gamma Ray may be the best band most people never heard. Heaven Can Wait is one of the most uplifting metal songs ua-cam.com/video/3wqgOQYdh1w/v-deo.html. Ralph Scheepers was the original singer. The mastermind was Kai Hansen. Saxon. Roadies song. For Tank. Another Blind Guardian song from the Tolkien stories Time Stands Still ua-cam.com/video/eDWO8I1OCvg/v-deo.html.
Would love to see a reaction on Gamma Ray! They have several studio session videos, as well as good live ones, so would be perfect for Tank to review. Also: Kai may be the most wholesome man I've ever seen on stage. Helloween as well, but I would be surprised if Tank never heard them before. Totally with you on I want out.
@@luisnunes2010 Great song for sure! And I see a few good live versions on here. It seems like the Empire of the Undead album is the one with most studio sessions, but it's difficult to pick one over the others...
you have to hear the studio version of this song. the studio versions of alot of their songs are these really elaborate epic pieces with lots queen-style acapella and insane double layered vocals that would be impossible to play live, so they play the songs with a more classic power/heavy metal sound and simplified vocals.
I‘ve been listening the hell out of this song like 10 years ago when I was 13, then switched over to metalcore and melodic hardcore. But damn, even after all this time this gave me goosebumps again.
This band made me love metal when i was 14, now i'm 30, still loving it, this band has literally no filler songs in their album. So many good songs, you should also react to the band Demon&wizard which is a project with Hansi (singer of Blind Guardian) and Jon Schaffer (from Iced earth). I'd recommend the song Fiddler on the green.
And Then There Was Silence needs to be your next reaction, hehe. One of my favourites from them is Wheel of Time (you guessed it, talking about the series of the same name, hehe). And yes, we do love some power metal inspired by works of literature. And I feel like all their songs, or at least most of them, are super catchy and sing-along-y, haha! I really want to see them live one day. That'd be soooo cool. Oh, you ought to listen to Kamelot - Elizabeth (part I, II and III) live with their former vocalist Roy Khan. You'll definitely love it. And then, Sacrimony live feat. Alissa White-Gluz and Elize Ryd from their latest live DVD. Tommy is super cool (you already heard him with Ayreon). I think the band is power symphonic metal? Or something? Someone correct me if I'm wrong! I'm a noob at knowing the genres of bands (I just know if I like the band/song or not, and that's all that matters to my ears, lol). Talking about Ayreon, they have published the first 3 singles of the new Transitus album. Tommy and Simone (from Epica) are part of it! And I'd really love to see your reaction of Valley of the Queens from the Universe live. I have a suggestion for you and your reactions: maybe, like you Nightwish Wednesdays, you could have a day dedicated to lesser known or lesser reacted to bands? It's just a suggestion, of course, so if you don't feel like it's something that's right for your channel, I'm totally ok with it, hehe.
As a whole, Blind Guardian songs tend to be very sing-songy where the crowd is an active participant in all the shows.
It is great just seeing Hansi standing there with that grin on his face at shows and the crowd nails all the lyrics.
Being one of the fans in their crowds is just awesome.
@@jimz6850 the feeling of hearing the crowd nail your songs must be so epic, I think it's impossible not to have that fat grin on your face
Yeah, actually on this recording the audience's been left quite quiet in the mix. Some older ones deliver the experience of being on a BG concert.
Actually, now that I think of it, I guess this sound more like what it's onstage. The other mixes more immersed.
Blind Guardian Band setup:
Vocals: Hansi Kürsch
Guitars: Marcus Siepen, Andre Olbrich
Drums: Frederik Ehmke
Vocals, Choir: The audience
I think Tank needs to do "And Then There Was Silence".
Erik Randan I agree!
Agreed. Their 'magnum opus.'
Yes PLEASE! it's my absolute favorite from "Die blinden Gardinen" as they humorusly announced themself in our hometown. ("the blind curtains")
Greetings from Krefeld, Germany =D
Yeah. I think the studio version would be better to react
Their Greatest Show on Earth....
"Is Hansi even have to sing"... nope, he could do a whole concert without speaking, the crowd would fill in all the lyrics. :)
Tickets for the 2021 arrived today :D
+ they could just leave the stage after "Valhalla" and come back the next day. The crowd would still be singing the chorus.
I think they don’t even have to show on stage. A static image of the band is probably enough to get the crowd singing
Another song to react and... sing along to from this album is "Nightfall"
For slower songs like the Bard song with folk touches "A past and future secret" (based on a book about king arthur), "The Lord of the Rings", "Skalds and Shadows" and my personal favorite" Curse my name" (based on a medieval book that is themed around to hold nobility responsible infront of the law) the middle part of the song when layer after layer comes in and builds up..
I think the ultimate goal of Blind Guardian is to play an entire concert with only crowd participation vocals, and they could legitimately achieve it I think.
mirror mirror on the wall who is the fastest growing reactor on youtube
Hahahahahahaha. I'll take it.
Roy Khan Kamelot pls. ^^ I'm in love with Tommy, but todays Kamelot isnt what it used to be.
I second kamelot!
He should really react to the Live Elizabeth trilogy with Khan.
I just want to add that the keyboardist in this video is Michael ,,Mi" Schüren. He is playing in Blind Guardian on live shows since 1997
Thank you so much!
Nightfall in middle earth is definitely a must have record for every metalhead 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Very underrated ,and his very unique , so melodic and tasteflull , yet no one mentions him metal
Yes Mirror Mirror is from the Lord of the Rings Album Nightfall in Middle-Earth
I need to hear this whole album now.
@@TankTheTech Yes, yes you do. :D
Lets say that the silmarillion story ends and then the lord of the rings story begins. 😉
To see all this Bands live there is a pretty easy Solution: Tank has to come to Wacken.
I was lucky to see the live two years in a row in 2015 and 2016 in Massachusetts. So much fun. Possibly my favorite live band.
I agree! Andre is very underrated, his playing style is one of my favorite aspects of the band.
The band has been rocking for 30+ years already. I grew up listening to this, so no wonder that fans are singing all the songs :) .
You can tell how legendary a band is by how loudly the audience sings along!
Demons and Wizards is Hansi and Jon Shaffer of Iced Earth, 3 CDs 2000 self titled, '05 Crimson King, concept based on The Dark Tower and '20 III features guitar virtuoso Jake Dryer ( Witherfall)🤘😈🤘
Check out the band Rhapsody of fire "Emerald Sword"
omg yes, and dawn of victory
Blind Guardian and the crowd have a symbiotic relationship. For example, I do not think they ever actually sung the whole "The bard's Song" live. I would bet they do not even remember all the words anymore. Just the opening lines, and then they sit back and enjoy the performance.
To illustrate your words, Blind Guardian - live in Stuttgart ua-cam.com/video/X-RfBfoI4CU/v-deo.html, my favourite version of that song. Pure magic.
Oooooh I can't wait! More Blind Guardian! Just as I bought tickets for the Somewhere Far Beyond Anniversary tour \m/
My favorit too!!!
@@willowb518 This is a must!
I was about to suggest this, too. Since “The day the world breaks down“ got a lot of love, this song might, too.
My first Blind Guardian song / album(single)💙💙💙 i went from Anonymous and the likes to power metal and never looked back 😁
New to this here. Cheers!
I started listening to Blind Guardian after I saw your Bard's Song/ Valhalla reaction and just bought tickets for their show next year :D
Songs to listen to:
1) Fiddler on the Green (Demons & Wizards)
2) And then there was silence (BG)
3) Dracula (Iced Earth - with Matt Barlow on the stage (live version))
I'd definitely recommend listening to the whole album in one go, it really does take you on a journey. Great reaction as always, looking forward to more Blind Guardian from you!
Man, that'd be a cool thing to do as a stream for hitting a subscriber mark. Just live stream a full listen of the album.
Eagle Fly Free or Keeper of the Seven Keys is two of my favorites by them
I just said the almost same comment on his valhalla reaction video haha rock on dude
Blind Guardian exists for quite some years now and their discography is quite big :)
I have my older brother to thank for my childhood filled with "imaginations from the other side" (brilliant album by the way)
Blind Guardian is the band that got me into metal 17 years ago: one summer a friend of mine just forced me to listen to the Nightfall in Middle-Earth album and that was it.
And his voice is simply amazing
Have a look at "The Vocal Range of Hansi Kürsch
" here on YT
This band is so bad ass! Always has been and always will be! I think the other amazing thing about this band is that English is not their native language! To write not just songs but entire albums in another language is totally mind blowing to me! Love it! Keep rockin’ it out! 🤘🏻
Toast to 23k by the end of this week! 🍻
🤘
Olbrich really isn't talked up as much as he should be as a guitarist. That's probably because he doesn't do too much super flashy technical things, but his ability to just string along great melodies is top tier.
Yeah, that' what I found most impressive to the first chorus. Those 110% Wah-Wah-Pedal leads switching into Power Metal Riffing for the chorus and after the chorus in this even heavier style (sorry, I'm no guitarist)...it's just rad!
Yes. It's very memorable and easy to sing along to.
So happy you enjoy Blind Guardian! They are terrific underrated!!!
Please watch also: Somewhere Far Beyond!
Next year they are going to celebrate 30th anniversary 🤘
Blind Guardian - And Then There Was Silence (Live), a 14 minute long musical master peace.
Oooh I heard In Flames in the background. Speaking of them, I just got their comic book The Jester's Curse - Lunar Strain pt.1 at Value Village yesterday. Gold find! Not sure if part 2 already came out.
Nice!!!!!
Another Powermetal band from Europe worth having a look at is Powerwolf. Fire and Forgive is one of my favourites.
Yes!! This song will be in your head forever! :)
Next Blind Guardian reaction should be "Fly". I just love this song!!
Blind Guardian - im alive from the imaginations trough the looking glass dvd! (Their original drummer Thomen Stauch + Hansi in his absolute prime)
Wow, thanks a ton, man!
and i just realise that i watch this in a loop while working on the server, having a blast and just realised one of my favorite songs is playing in the intro section. In Flames Cloud connected. am i right? ^^ I know that refrain. Dude this song is so powerfull!
Also its just such a joy to see your roadieheart go up when the audience participates like that.
You’re right! Love me some In Flames! Love you too, buddy!
listen to hansi singing on Ayreon man. freaking amazing. Age Of Shadows live (with Marko from nightwish), or Everybody Dies (with another 30 singers, lol)
Has begun!
Barend is a friend of my from my hometown Arnhem in Holland. He is an amazing bassplayer, they are now in the studio to record a new album.
Screaming in the night,
Fighting for my life, I'd die for you......
Great band too
If you wanna break your neck headbanging, listen to their song "I'm Alive". Or if you wanna see the TRUE genius of them, listen to "Thorn", from the same album that "Mirror Mirror" comes from. Or even "Time stands still at the iron hill"
'Time Stands Still At The Iron Hill' is SO good!
The "Nightfall..." album is really incredible. Even more so if you're a Tolkien fan.
Hansi is so chill, his voice fits so well with their music.
The first metal song I ever heard and well.... Stayed with it.
One of the greatest shows you will ever see
My inner elf was waiting for this so bad.
I love that cover. Hansi nailed it.
I'm german Blind Gurdian was some kind of my starting Drug to Power Metal and until today i love this Band so much. I proudfuly wear my Band Shirts
Yout realy should listen to Avantasia - let the Storm desend upon you from the Ghostlights Album
Different music styles by degrees, but the fellowship and crowd connection is so similar.
oh hey cloud connected on the intro. fucking love that song as well xD
As a stagehand that has set up for these guys before.... The only song you need to hear to understand what these guys are about is the song "And then there was Silence."
And Krokus in the background , my first ever concert live :D
Yes! You’re the first person to catch that! YOU WIN! I don’t have a prize for you, but YOU WIN! 💪
This is gonna be great! I hope to see more Blind Guardian reactions in this channel! Let's gooo! 🤘
The crowd would sing for the entire concert if Hansi let them haha, Blind Guardian is just a legend in the metal scene of Europe.
Thats the sound of my youth🤣 We had so many great partys with songs like this.
Blind Guardian was and is one of my most cheered bands 🤘
Powerwolf singalong fest especially live and they have some interesting gear too!
Imaginations from the other side of Blind Guardian is terrible epic and flawless
If you want a heavier/thrashier song, still with a great chorus, check out Script For My Requiem.
one of the genius things about blind guardian songs and their live performances is that every song has that one part that anyone can immediately pick up and join in. makes their performances incredibly fun.
not sure if there's a good live video, but Wheel of Time is an absolutely epic song of theirs. definitely in my top favorites, and worth a reaction for sure
@@jaega4247 Thanks! Induction/Dethrone Tyranny is even better for these awful days and it might be one of the studio sessions...
Power metal is known for its sing along songs. Blinded guardian seems to have a patent on songs where you don’t need a singer.
I love you talk about the equipment as well. Very few people have the knowledge to do that
Thank you so much. That's really what I wanted to add to my channel as far as reactions go, and I'm glad people enjoy it.
This song was awesome! I don't think I have ever had such awesome combination of songs introduced to me as the ones you and Chase did today.
That’s awesome to hear!
Awesome! Joining the chorus of "Demons and Wizards!" chants. Not sure if they ever did live shows, but the studio recordings rock.
The album Nightfall in Middle-Earthalbum is based on J.R.R Tolkien's The Silmarillion.
