It's amazing and really quite wonderful that such a nice man still has people tuning into his show. I watch the daily upload of Bob Ross everyday, and I'm sure many of you do too. Even though the show is off the air, and even though Bob is gone, He still has people tuning in to watch his content. It's so lovely to know that he has such an amazing legacy.
I grew up watching this exact show on television, and it inspired me to draw, imagine and create my own worlds. Last year I put down the pencil and picked up a brush, and I still can't stop watching this program. God bless you, Bob Ross, for what you've done for me and for the universe.
Just beat the devil out of it. I feel better knowing he reached enlightenment and is making little happy bushes for those little rascal squirrels so they can be friends, cause everyone needs a friend.
This man gave his all for the art he believed in. Did not take any pay or pay raise for that matter and now he is and will be remembered fondly for his beautiful soul. Thank you, Bob.
You can make little doers in the sky. It's alright, it's your world. You can do whatever you want. We have happy accidents. And a happy little tree. Some pthalo green. And he needs a friend. Pschew, like that. And keep a squirrel in your pocket. And grow a fro on your head. Maybe add a little doer. And just use some odor free paint thinner. And beat the devil out of it.
“Hey, certainly glad you can join me today. Today I thought we do a fantastic little painting. So I tell you what, let’s start out, having ran all the colors across the screen that you need to paint along with me. And as usual they’ll come across in the same order as I have them on my pallet, starting with the White and working around. So tell you what, I got my standard old 18 by 24 inch canvas up here, we’ve covered it with a nice thin even coat of Liquid White, it’s all wet, slick, and ready to go!”
nuitari Ive never seen the crew, but they did this short video where they filmed the camera filming Bob Ross if that makes sense. The whole studio appeared.
You can definitely try to follow him with acrylics but the paints will not blend together as well because they will dry quickly on the canvas. The key to Bob’s method is painting wet on wet, that’s why he always puts the liquid white on first. Things such as putting snow on mountains or creating ripples in water will look different with acrylics.
If I could own any painting 🖼️ it would be one of Bob Ross’. He always brought me joy 😊and I love watching him paint 🎨 all these years later!!❤ God Bless you all!😊
I'm deeply impressed by this. I had the privilege of reading something similar, and it left a deep impression on me. "Reclaiming Connection: The Journey of a Digital Detox" by Joshua Ember
He uses oil, but you can use a lot of the same techniques he uses with acrylic. The biggest problem with that though is acrylic dries very fast and oil doesn't. So all of that blending he does and using the "liquid white" might be a little tricky if your acrylics are drying too fast (not to say you can't blend at all by any means, you just won't have quite as much time as with oil).
A thick oil paint works best for these landscape paintings. You can buy Bob Ross brand oil paints from his website, amazon, hobby lobby, and a few other places. They're pretty quality paints, but if you're just starting out painting, you'd be fine getting one of the cheaper paint sets to see if you enjoy it or not.
@@donspringstead1649 maybe, but filming for free, and being a former drill instructor in the military, and being a layed back southern gentlemen, I bet he was easy going at that point in his life. But, that's why I'd like to hear from Sally Schenck, the director, and some of them camera people, which sally was for awhile. Would be interesting to hear from them, and find out. I watch Bob Ross and William Alexander all the time.
Bob’s Alaskan scenes are nearly photo-realistic but I find that whenever he does anything other than a snowcapped mountain with a forest and lake, his art is a but more cartoony. Don’t get me wrong I like all his work but IMO this is more “fake” looking than his bread ‘n’ butter

00:42 why does cadmium yellow look green?
He says that he laughs about cleaning the brush because of the appearance of the camera operator. "Some day I'll show you." I'm very curious.
Oh! Is he splashing the camera operator with paint thinner?
The camera operators are typically dressed in a bulky raincoat to shield them from the paint thinner.
