  • Mustad 10/0 demon circle hooks, mighty mini #2 craneswivels, 80lb bullbuster mono and corresponding bullbuster aluminum crimps, 4 or 5oz spider weights. I use a palomor knot from hook to leader and a fishermans knot from leader to main line.

    I like a loop on the line to the hook. Put it on one of the spider weight legs before casting. Keeps the bait and weight close together then hook separates from the weight when it hits the water. Make casting with longer leader a lot easier.

      I have used that rig as well. It works great but every once in a while it would tangle for me. Might be the way I cast or improper rigging though. I came up with this and can cast just as far with my setups so I started using this one. Ten ways to skin a cat I guess lol.Thanks for watching!

    When you zip tie the sputnik sinker, you essentially turn it into a spider sinker. The sputnik sinker is designed to dislocate from the grooves so that you don’t snag the sinker in rocks. After you reel in the Sputnik sinker, reset the legs before casting. The Sputnik sinker makes fishing in rocky bottoms possible, like a jetty while minimizing lost sinkers due to snags. You’ll want to super glue the beads on the legs otherwise you’ll lose them over time. Good luck and tight lines.

      Yes sir. Where I fish they come loose way to often so I just turn them into spider weights! Lol thanks for watching man!

      I built my own out of pyramid sinkers. Drilled holes and stuck wire from hangers through. Bent them and they don’t move but if you get stuck on a rock the legs move enough it will still let go. Then just reset the legs when casting again. It was cheaper than $10 a spider sinker.

    Just curious. Why use the crimps on the swivels and not just the polomar? Also isnt a snell the preferred knot for a circle hook?

    • @KillerBeeOutdoors
      @KillerBeeOutdoors  Рік тому +1

      I use a Snell as well. It's just super quick and a easy rig that just works. I can make one in under a minute.

    Thank you for sharing your technique. The knot on the main line sounds like the Improved Cinch knot. The "improved" comes from running the tag through the 2nd loop. If you make twists, then run the lag through the first loop where your finger is, that would be the Cinch knot.

    I like this leader a lot! Different from most people fish finder rigs where the weight is free flowing on the line

      @KillerBeeOutdoors  4 роки тому +1

      In my opinion they hook themselves with the circle hook. I have had a. Ton of success with it. Kind of like the mouse trap shark leader. When they go to leave after grabbing the bait they spook when they feel the weight and drag that hook into the corner, hooking themselves!💪💥

      @@KillerBeeOutdoors that makes since and i agree! I am most definitely going to try this rig. Except I'm thinking of using a 3 way swivel

    Interesting stuff brother, thanks. I was so glad to see you tie that main line knot and not know the name because I use it for everything and don't know what to call it either.
    I'd like to see a wire leader as well, when you get the time.

    • @KillerBeeOutdoors

      Lol....I have always heard it called a fishermans knot but I dont think that's the technical name. I will get the wire leader video posted. It's almost the exact same leader setup.

    That's a good leader. I build all my own leaders as well. The only thing different is I'd have snelled that 10/0 circle. I hardly use wire anymore on sharks under 200 lbs provided you're using a circle hook. Good fishing!

    WHY DO YOU CRIMP LEADER LINE IF ITS NOT WIRE. MAKES NO SENSE. JUST PICK A KNOT AND TIE IT

    The knot on the swivel to main line is also called a bimini twist knot or clench knot.
