Wonderful!! I do not use any fabric softener. BUT- in the summer when we hang more clothes out on the line- I will add Distilled White Vinegar as a softener. And I use wool dryer balls (good for 1,000 loads) instead of dryer sheets.
I used essential oils in my rinse cycle, or scent oils you would use making soap. Yes, I do make soap. You don't need much. Maybe 20-30 drops EO or 1/8 c. Of the scents. I don't have a dishwasher (besides me) but I use 2 of the pod thingys once a month in hot water on a full tub. It does an amazing job cleaning not only the tub but the spout where you would put fabric softener. Bets are off on a HE machine. I have the old fashioned washer.
Can you do a video of you putting it in the machine and how it dissolves? I’d be worried if it would dissolve well or not. Unless everything is washed in hot water.
I have the cheese grater with the 4sides that are different. I'm assuming the finer the better? It just takes forever compared to the not so fine, wide option on the grater
I have watched many videos. Yes, HE washers. Use just enough for your load or depending on how dirty. 2 scoops max. It cleans your machine, too. Takes away bad smell if you have a that issue. I have been using similar with more ingredients.

Here from TicToc. Just watched your video. We recently moved to East Tennessee and will definitely make use of this recipe. What store do you buy the Fels-Naptha from?
I have been yes :) I just haven’t. When I first started, I actually melted everything down and made it a liquid- but this is just easier for us bc I only have to do it 2 times a year
I would say no other scent is needed. The Fels-Naptha bar smells amazing! I just made my first batch and could NOT stop smelling the bar after I grated it. It made my clothes smell so good. I took my clothes out and they smell so good! Not too strong (which is great because my husband can’t handle stronger fragrances and it’s perfect for me because I long for my clothes to smell good. :)
Thanks for this recipe! I've been making my own natural laundry soap but used baking soda instead of the borax. It just wasn't getting my clothes as clean as I would have liked. Looking forward to trying the borax!
Hi, I’m new to the “all natural” world of soaps. I have a child who has VERY sensitive skin. I have some questions. Why don’t you use utensils for making detergent in the kitchen? Is this safe for high efficiency washers? And thank you so much for making these videos. I really appreciate your willingness to help others who don’t know how to do these things 🤩
Hi there!! 1. I already have an “established” utensil set up for making all of my cleaning supplies and hand made soaps- so for me it was habit. You can use them- I guess I’m just worried it may taste like soap lol- so I just choose to keep them separated. 2. I’m not a washing machine expert, however, I have used this detergent in my own HE washer for about six years without any problems :-) 3. I originally started making this detergent due to my husband’s in my daughters severe skin sensitivity. This is the only thing that we have been able to use. I hope this helps ♥️

I am curious about this too.
I don't ever use hot water. So I'm concerned it won't dissolve and will leave a residue on my clothing.
I stopped making homemade powdered soap. I had residue on my dark clothing and also found it lightened up my darks.
I wouldn’t mind a good ice cream recipe mine is a little tallowy
