Great views of the area repurposed from its coal, steel and brick industrial days.👍⭐⭐⭐ The light brown buildings were constructed on site of the Deepfields Fire Brick and Clay Works dating 1903 or earlier. The industrial units to south was previously Spring Vale / Prior Field Iron Foundry. Industrial units across Spring Vale Road replaced the Manor Works tin and steel sheet metal and boiler manufacturer. Lanesfield Colliery noted on the north side. Surrounding area also had numerous shafts noted on older maps. Manor Iron Works dates to 1878 and owned by Stephen Thompson and Co manufacturing tin and steel sheets. In 1904 acquired by Joseph Sankey and Sons. In 1919 acquired by John Lysaght of Scunthorpe (DJ videoed his Orb Works in Newport previously and many auditors visited the Normanby Park industrial estate, Scunthorpe, which was his primary steel works).
