@@ivanbluetarski9071 You don't need permission to fly a drone over private property; owners of property do not own - nor do they control - the airspace above their property, that's the purview of the Civil Aviation Authority. When coming up with the rules concerning drones and where you can fly them, the CAA risk assessed the potential for a Class 0 drone to cause damage in the fairly unlikely (but not impossible) event of a mishap with it. The CAA determined that, with a maximum speed of 42.5 mph and a weight of less than 250 grams, a Class 0 drone would be extremely unlikely to cause a significant injury to a person (or animal), nor significant damage to structures, vehicles etc. This is why that class of drone can be flown over such places. Having said that, there are numerous rules concerning what you can and can't do on such flights, and two of these rules might potentially be some cause for concern. Specifically: You have to keep below 400 feet AGL and maintain line of sight to the drone at all times so you can determine its orientation, and you have to fly responsibly. Lots of 'audit' videos clearly flout the LOS requirement by very obviously not maintaining line of sight, which if proven, would make the flights illegal. With regard to the rule about being able to fly over such places, it could be argued that one was not considering the welfare of the animals by dint of the potential for a mishap which might involve them. Thus a drone pilot could potentially be open to accusations of not flying with consideration for the animals, i.e. irresponsibly. It'd be a good lawyer who could prove it of course, but I suppose it would not be impossible to do so with the right legal strategy, arguments etc, and a lawyer who could put forward a credible case concerning the potential for either distress or an injury to an animal to be likely.
