Another brilliantly inspirational video. That looks sooooo good! I can’t believe the garden centre would rather landfill pallets than give them away. Send Jenny on her own and she can say they are to do projects with underprivileged children…….. who could refuse Jenny anything??. 🥰

Love your videos . One of the few people that make “easy “ or “beginner” video without immediately entering an air craft hanger sized work shop with every possible tool you can imagine decorated in red or yellow.

This is nice! 😍 I'm an absolute beginner but I'd love to make it one day. Would have to figure out how many degrees to cut each corner and I'd probably join the 2 layers using pocket holes and screws on the inside. They wouldnt be visible on the outside. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks so much Sheena what a great comment. The cuts I made were 30 degrees- 6 pieces make up the hexagonal shape.

@@diggingfordinner you're welcome and thank you. I think I understand it now. All those angles would add up to 360 degrees. I can hardly wait to get my tools so I can try this 🤗

If the screw head fits into the hole, what is it holding when screwed in? It would just be a screw into the bottom piece and not holding the top piece at all. Dowels or pocket holes were the way to go with this. You can tell the screw does nothing when you watch the seam between the two planks. There's no movement. You're literally just driving a screw into the bottom piece. Furthermore, you wouldn't need the clamps to align things if the screws worked because the top pieces wouldn't be moved by such. The fact that they're moving at all should indicate to you that the screws aren't working.
Watching this process was so frustrating. Just drill, glue, and drive dowels or use pocket holes. You've just glued two rows of planks together on edge.

You obviously watched this with your eyes closed! The clamps were there to hold everything together before I added screws and the tape on the drill bit was to indicate when to stop so that I DIDN’T drill all the way through thus giving the screw HEAD something to bite against. Keyboard warrior with no skills watching a good bloke do a blinding job of these SOLID planters. Have a great day.

@@diggingfordinner You are right, I was wrong. I completely missed that bit while skipping around the video.
      I stand corrected. My apologies.
