Former hand model Prewitt (David Duchovny) explains to Zoolander (Ben Stiller) and Matlida (Christine Taylor) the vast conspiracy involving models and assassinations.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Comic actor Ben Stiller co-wrote, directed, and stars in this spoof of the fashion industry that began as a short skit for the 1996 VH1 Fashion Awards. Stiller is Derek Zoolander, an intellectually challenged but bone structure-blessed male model who's despondent after being eclipsed in popularity by an equally vacuous rival, Hansel (Owen Wilson). Upon his reluctant retirement, Derek is invited to a day spa by previously standoffish fashion designer Jacobim Mugatu (Will Ferrell), where the befuddled model is brainwashed by the mysterious Katinka (Milla Jovovich) into assassinating the prime minister of Malaysia. In addition to Stiller's real-life wife Christine Taylor, Zoolander co-stars his father Jerry Stiller, along with Jon Voight, David Duchovny, Andy Dick, and Fabio.

Let me start off by saying outside of Tropic Thunder and Meet The Fockers, Zoolander is one of Ben Stiller best movies hands down. This scene alone is a perfect representation of how well of a director and actor Ben is overall. It's comedic but also has depth and let me explain. Zoolander is ontop of the modeling world and has everything going for him. But he has to live in the moment because it won't last forever. Time is cruel and with time he will loose everything that he thinks is important to him. So this scene was a way for him to open his eye's and learn to accept fate an enjoy life an the little things in the moment rather than dwelling on the past best times. It's also a comedy with another meaning and why he's so brilliant lol.

I was today years old when I realized that's Dave Duchovny.
This clip is incomplete. If it doesn't include the part where Ben Stiller's character asks "Why male models?: and then has to be told awkwardly that it was already explained to in full detail. Seriously, this is a great movie, and it came shortly after 9/11. Say what you will, but at that point we needed levity and comedy in our lives.. Zoolander provided it.
