Adrenaline Peak Review, Oaks Amusement Park Gerstlauer Eurofighter | Oregon's Best Coaster

- Adrenaline Peak is the premier attraction at Oaks Amusement Park in Portland, Oregon. This is the best coaster in the Beaver State. It starts with a beyond vertical loop and navigates three inversions! This ride is a Gerstlauer Eurofighter 320 and it is a clone of Hydrus at Casino Pier.

If you hear any bells or weird sounds in the background, thank the two kittens we just got. I think I was able to record most of the audio around their outbursts.
LOL, are they good otherwise?
0:41 that transition👌👌
Thanks!
Thanks for visiting my home city Portland!
It's a nice city.
I hope the Pacific Northwest gets a new theme park soon in Portland or Seattle. They are big enough cities to support one
Seattle really could use a better main park.
It really is amazing how little they have, especially Seattle. After Houston, this feels like the biggest amusement park gap in the country. Some mention Miami, but they can drive upstate to Orlando or Tampa.
Or at least and FEc speaking of which tukwilla has a FEC
Rode it today - two train ops despite 100° weather & absolutely 0 crowd. Was a great little park though they need to beautify their midway a bit. Good review Canobie!!
Thanks!
I love Hyrus and it’s so fun to operate, since this is a clone I hope the operators has a much fun I have at Hydrus with Andrealine Peak in Oregon
I hope so!
Missed out on this when I went up there but hope to ride in august. We went after we went to enchanted forest only to find the coaster was closed. And that was when it was only operating on weekends and it was a Sunday and I was leaving Oregon that Thursday :-(. Enchanted forest was really cool though honestly underrated park it’s so charming. The log ride coaster hybrid is a ton of fun and Challenge of Mondor is straight up my favorite shooting dark ride I have currently done. From what I have seen of Efftiling it felt like a smaller American version of that.
I agree, Enchanted Forest is a gem.
Ironically, the Screamer in Sacramento has banned screaming on the ride, but that rule was phased out. Despite the ban, it provided a good laugh for many people.
I remember that rule.
Wow that’s a pretty crazy rule, they don’t enforce the same thing on Hydrus. I’m 6’3” and had my hands up almost every ride without hitting supports. Good to know when visit though!
Yeah Casino Pier has no such rule.
I went there in march and went on it several times with my hands up
Odd, they weren't allowing it for me.
I rode it today. Fun ride, likely to be the best coaster of my little 3 day coaster trip unless something at Enchanted Forest far exceeds expectations (that's a portion of my bigger move for work). At Oaks I would say the skating rink with a live organist at a Whurlitzer theatre organ serves as the main attraction though (highly recommend, if you only know the park for Addrenaline Peak there's more to it than that).
That roller rink did look cool. I just cannot skate.
@@CanobieCoaster They've got arcade games in there too if you just want to observe the Whurlitzer theatre organ. I faceplanted a couple times but I got my confidence fairly quick. Roller Blading is a lot easier than say, ice skating, because you have double blades. They do have a beginner area as well, although my comment of it being the star of the show is only the case if the organist is there. To get a sense of the rink, the same guy who did the Kennywood documentary from the 80s you featured for track oiling on Thunderbolt did a national documentary called "Great Old Amusement Parks" (very pivitol in my enthusiast journey), filmed in 1998 and 1999. Oaks is one of the parks among many that are featured, the rink is his primary focus of Oaks, it's basically unchanged since it was filmed. Although I will warn you, it will stir tears when he goes to Whalom Park, knowing what happened the season after release. I certainly cry when that portion of the documentary comes around.
Adrenaline Peak seems to always run 2 trains. I went during a 102° Day where the park was dead and it still ran 2 trains.
Awesome!
Wish my home Santa Cruz beach Boardwalk would get a clone of this.
That would be a great fit.
Welp, I guess I'll watch this now since the line for the new wild mouse at cedar point is incredibly slow
I've heard that line is bad unfortunately.
Huh. I had my arms raised for every ride on this, and I marathoned it.
They were super strict about it in my recent visit and back in 2019. Did you ride it before then?
@@CanobieCoaster I was there in July, 2021. I vaguely recall that dispatchers would occasionally say something about not raising your hands, but I probably took that as just a liability formality, like signs that say keep your hands inside at all times on most coasters. I kept my arms up all the way through for about ten rides and no one said anything. I’m not one to deliberately defy park rules, so if I thought they were strict about it, I certainly would have kept my arms down.
Commenting on the video for the algorithm
Thank you lol
I'm going to oaks park in a couple of weeks
Have fun!
Canobie's Untamed is of course a home-park favorite of mine, and it'd be nice to ride one of these without an OTSR. I've never had headbanging problems on Untamed but I know that shorter people sometimes do. I'm mildly surprised at the hands-down rule--that a ride that really required that would even be permitted to exist.
I'm surprised by the hands down rule too.
I’m in Oregon rn wanna ride it
Worth a visit.
@@CanobieCoaster yeah but it’s in Portland 6 hours away and that far ain’t worth a eurofighter :/
If I knew you'd be here Ida said hello!!
I was on the west coast for 3 weeks and my weekend trips were a bit fluid depending on weather.
Do you think there are shin guards on Adrenaline Peak?
Yes, but they are loose.
Why do you think Gerstlauers have that bad shimming/pothole issue. Hangtime at Knotts has a bad one if you are sitting on the far left and I have heard other Gerstlauers have similar issues like TMNT.
My guess is footers and/or wheels, but I don't know for sure.
what kind of kittens do you have like breed and color
Two black short-hairs.
Don’t understand the hands rule. Hydrus doesn’t enforce that, and I’ve never hit anything on that ride either.
Hydrus has never said anything about it.
take a video of your cats
Maybe in the future.
Why did I have to be less than 30 minutes from the park when it was closed just yesterday… ughhh I hate this hobby 😂
Sorry!
Use your real voice
That is me speaking.
