Just to let you know the Mack Hyper at Thorpe Park is confirmed and under construction. Not sure you were aware given your comment about anticipated rides in the UK
Infinity Coasters are very versatile - I've been on Karacho, Kärnan, Fury, Gold Rush and the Smiler and enjoyed everyone of them. I will be happy if there are more of these rides in the future 👍🏻
As a Brit, I obviously saw #1 coming so no real surprises here. I wouldn’t say the Smiler feels poorly paced riding it, because it takes most of its elements fast and it’s inversions are intentionally divided across the 2 lift hills, but at the same time it’s unlike anything else on the list so the score makes sense! Also it ironically has the best airtime in the country right in the middle of its layout underneath the theming structure (although our country lacks airtime and desperately needs a airtime machine so it’s not really a accomplishment). I wish more Infinity coasters had airtime elements, I’ve only ridden Smiler and Hangtime and the airtime hills are nice surprises on both, they compliment the more insane manoeuvres well. Great list! Fury is definitely the coaster I want to ride the most out of these, although it’s purely because of that gimmick.
@@stonie13 No, just the ride itself is very intense and has good airtime moments. But the theming, the preshows, the atmosphere and the amazing soundtrack makes it for me one of the best rollercoasters in the world. A massive full package ride.
Never heard of Fury before. Sounds awesome. I would love to see a video on the top ten coasters that would be the best / worst to have that forwards / backwards gimmick on.
Kärnarn is an amazing coaster. I have been on it for the first time like a week ago and it’s sooo awesome. Yeah sure it only has one I version but the rest does make up for it.
Props to your pronunciation of Slagharen! I almost assumed Gold Rush to be last, since it's a really short ride. That launch sequence must really add a lot, especially with the dive loop stall.
It’s funny being an a coaster enthusiast and a aviation enthusiast seeing a ride themed to the Pitts Special a plane notorious for being a stunt plane and a plane that probably spends more time flying upside down than right side up has a coaster with no inversions 😂
I've ridden Karacho and Schwur des Kärnan and both are among the best roller coasters in Europe with their varied and intense ride. The only downside of this model is its limited capacity. That's why the coasters are also more suitable for medium-sized parks. But in such parks they are the absolute highlight.
I'm curious to know if you considered adding vertical lift hills as prime ride time. Obviously, that would kill pacing, but those vertical lifts are sometimes the most memorable element of the ride.
Thorpe is getting that mack hyper. And I'm just saying this is definetly going to be the best coaster in the country and probably the best hyper ever to exsist. Imagine steel curtain and steel vengeance combined, the wild airtime and elements from Steve and the intimidating and whippy inversions from curtain
Very cool video with all the facts and comparisons. But I think saying "Schwur des Kärnan" has just 53 seconds of ride time is a little off because the ride is in fact made up of several parts that really matter to the overall experience. But yes I know it fits your definition of the ride-time.
I spotted a conversion error in the gold rush section. 108,3 ft is not 620 m. If it were 620 m, that would mean the ride would be 2034 feet tall. It accidentally shows the track length as the height.
If you ever go to the UK for coasters, obviously go to Alton Towers and Thorpe Park, but also Blackpool Pleasure Beach for ICON, possibly Drayton Manor for whatever their new for 2024 coaster is (probably an Axis from my point of view), and Flamingo Land. Flamingo Land is the most underrated park, definitely in the UK, better than Pleasure Beach and has Sik (one of the best in the UK) with 3 amazing supporting coasters (smooth and forceful custom SLC (I think it pulls the same forces as Black Mamba), Clone of Steel Hawg, and by far the best Vekoma Booster Bike except for TRON (I prefer this to Leviathan at Canada's Wonderland)), best S&S drop tower, soaking water ride, epic zoo, and more. BTW, I had a better ady there than at Alton Towers (without Sik) last year and it was so good that I'm going again this year. This park gets almost no international attention but it is absolutely amazing!
I was looking into a uk trip before deciding to go with the coaster crew on their Norden adventure. Drayton wasnt really on my radar but alton, thorpe, blackpool, chessington, and flamingo land for sure
thorpe park is getting project exodus so excited im shocked that the uk hasn't gotten any more infinity coasters they are very versatile and cnan be compact perfect for blackpool and thorpe
Was Kärnan´s Lift Hill Party Trick left in for the prime ridetime? It feels like that should hurt the pacing a good bit. Or is that ride really that much faster that it makes up for it on the track?
@@stonie13 That´s what I thought. Maybe it´s just me, but I feel like that a slow Show scene like this that happens while you are in the train should count a prime ride time, mainly because it will hurt the overall pacing and it is IMO part of the overall experience.
F.Y.I they've stopped with the voting system on Fury since Covid. You instead pick which direction you want to go in while in the queue line. Also surprised it ranked so high in ride time since it's never felt like a long ride to me.
The system with two line is almost from the beginning and not related to covid. In one queue you go always forward. In the other line the voting system is still available. But in practice mostly a backward line.
I keep hearing these have low enough capacity that it's unlikely we'll get one at Cedar Point, but would it really hurt them to put in a 250+ foot Infinity with a 135 degree drop and 15+ inversions weaving in and around Millennium Force? That's all I'm asking, not much really.
Hangtime (apparently, I got the name from the Knotts version) is taller than Karnan at 223 feet tall and longer than Karnan at 4100 feet in length. However, its 75 mph top speed makes it lag behind Karnan, but only by a few mph. In terms of pacing, it's definitely not the best, but it's something... right?
I live 50 kilometers from Slagharen, so I've ridden Goldrush the most, but Fury is much more fun! Also Slagharen only has 2 roller coasters, while Bobbejaanland has way more, while themed to the wild west as well ;-) I will experience Karacho next year, when we go to Europapark, Holidaypark and Tripsdrill! Greetings from the Netherlands...
You’re in luck, Thorpe Park is getting a Mack Hyper. Jack Silkstone confirmed on his video that Mack is the manufacturer building Thorpe parks project Exodus hyper coaster.
I was gonna say TMT Shellraiser until I remembered it only has one car, so it's not considered to be an Infinity coaster. My favourite coasters in England are Icon and The Smiler, but the Mach Rides coaster opening next at Thorpe park will probably beat both of them, including my third favourite coaster in the U.K. in the same park: Swarm. I consider Smiler to be one of the top 26 coasters I've ridden out of 133 in total. In conclusion: The Smiler is in the top 20% of coasters I've ridden, and it's my favourite coaster at Alton Towers: my favourite amusement in England AFTER Blackpool Pleasure Beach (because Blackpool is so inexpensive and easy to get the best rides for the lowest prices)
Will Palindrome at COTAland be open while cars are on the track? If so, this is a game-changer. As someone whose been to many NASCAR events, the sound of a NASCAR speeding by is legit LOUD and TERRIFYING in a good way. If you're on the stall over the track, you will be shook.
I pretty much summed it up in the first few seconds of the video, as far as I can tell and what I have read, the Infinity coaster is just capable of longer trains even though some of them still only have 2 rows
The list is in order of prime ride time. Karnan is 1st in everything except prime ride time. It's third by prime ride time. Prime ride time is the length of the ride in seconds, excluding lift hills and final break runs. Looks like he accidentally put the length stat instead of the height stat.
I really do watch these back for mistakes but some still slip thru when theres 10000 numbers involved
Mystic is really underrated, featuring both airtime, hangtime and a snappy dive loop
Didn’t know hangtime was the shortest infinity coaster. I still think of it as a moderately long ride
