Ashley: beautiful, tears in her eyes
Laura: A soulful rendition of heartbreak
Marisha: We ride at dawn bitches!
Mary Elizabeth: Let me be an angel lowered from heavens to grace you with my voice.
Also, Taliesin says hi, he'll be busy up there, sorry he can't participate!
I like to think that is exactly how she leads critical role executive desicions XD
"Everyone! Sam ad incoming, Damage control! DAMAGE CONTROL!"
@@hmcloud8487 Very true, this one!
We plan at dawn
@@tyleredge5349 AT DAWN, WE PLAN!
Can we just agree that these nerdy ass voice actors that sit around and play dungeons and dragons are national treasures?
That´s not far m8! They are global treasures!
I second that motion.
Many of them are childhood legends too!!!
We all knew that XD
You yanks cant claim them, these guys are universal treasures
I was gonna say, 'Where is Taliesin?!' But I forget that he was actually alive back then, so he must have just wanted to watch everyone else.
This deserves more likes. The people must remember the truth about their immortal goth king! 😅
he's actually in Marisha's one as one of her backup singers
Taliesin was probably Hamilton's coach
wHY IS NOBODY talking about how GOOD Matt was
Yeah!!
Because even before watching this everyone knows Matt is amazing at whatever he’s doing.
God I sound like a major kiss ass but it’s only because it’s true every time I think there’s something, just one little thing, that he could be bad at he does amazing at it.
It is because the song is sung is a stereotypical character voice and he is a professional voice actor. So not really surprised.
You should search "A-Kon 28 Matthew Mercer Lip Sync Battle 2017
" on YT if you haven't already.
He surprised me, but Travis? bigboi blew it out of the water.
Ashley Johnson is just so unfairly talented
Men she hits me so hard!
Man I hate her boyfriend... but I love him...
Nah, she just worked hard at it. It's diminishing to call it talent. It's skill.
Having talent is like having an uncut diamond.
Practice refines that raw talent into amazing skill.
@@단승호 more envious of her bf
Me: This is fun
Laura: *Starts singing Burn*
Me: ..oh no *becomes sad*
I've noticed that Laura really commits to whatever she's doing. If you say she's tied up in a DnD game, she has her hands together and looks frightened. I got uncomfortable when her character was drowning and she was scratching above her and squeaking. She's just always ready to go with whatever a character should be doing. That sort of thing is top tier live stage charisma... ... but she's a voice actor??
A strong opening is Ashley Johnson with her best "I killed my family; I'll throw you under a bridge". And that is what we see here.
I love Ash-O-Lee...she is a treasure
we need a One Shot of these guys playing an entire party of bards
YAAAAAAAASSSSSSS!!!!!!
Um duh?!?!?!
Oh, that- That would be glorious.
A bardy if you will
Aight I'll take my leave
Me and my friends are doing this for my best friends birthday, but some are multiclasses, such as artificer and Warlock.
My favorite things about this in no particular order:
- The raw emotion in Laura's take on Burn
- The above being immediately followed up by Travis's dramatic sunglasses removal
- Marisha's Beau energy (and backup singers)
- Liam adding an extra fuck
- Mary Elizabeth's voice just being gorgeous (and the School House Rock reference)
- Matt's general gloriousness complimenting his choice of song
- Sam
- Ashley injecting Western energy into The World Was Wide Enough
Was Mary Elizabeth’s Schoolhouse Rocks cover part of the original piece from Hamilton? Or was that her own invention? Either way it’s a brilliant callback.
Nathan Freeman it was her own addition ;)
Sam Enough Said LOL Love it
@@nathanfreeman681 **hear Mary Elizabeth's singing**
**cries in Silent Hill**
Haha “Sam” 😂😂
Of course Sam, the one with professional musical theatre experience, chooses to do that 😂
He’s just channeling his inner Scanlan.👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
lol, I said the same thing! "leave it to Sam to slate first, haha"
Best part is he chose a Canadian singer. 😂
Ashley was in annie.....
Ashley is a singer /brian is a singer / sam is a singer / laura dabbles / marisha is also a singer
Some of these are just so beautiful but Travis’s child-like joy making cannon sounds is just what I needed right now
There was no better choice for him.
Yay im the 420th like
If you line them, look up Travis Willingham Roy Mustang voicemail. It's HILARIOUS! 😀
Talison was present in the room where it happens
Dude, he's in every room where everything happens
He's omnipresent.
This puts a smile on my face
Why doesn't anyone know how to write Taliesin?
He didn't sing because he still has ptsd from the Civil War.
This makes me thing we need a musical episode of Critical Role...
Search for the Critical Role Hamilton
Yes!!!
Critical role the musical
Like Once more with feeling from Buffy 😍
Imagine them having to sing everything for 4 hours 😂
I love how Matt's King George is basically just Gilmore
Or Artagan
George and Gilmore are shockingly similar 😆
Travis “Boom Boom BOOM” Willingham
*willingBLAM
i wasn't prepared for the boom after Laura's song
HERE comes the GENERAL!
Travis WillingDAMN!!
Critical Role Crew: “We attempt to sing Hamilton tunes”
Internet People: “Ok. Roll a charisma check.”
Critical Role Team: Natural twenties across the board.
i want to see what Taliesin rolled
Isn't it a performance check?
@Catherine Cornella I said charisma because for me it was more about seeing them do something than what they were doing. I mean, if the video said “Critical Role Cast does Laundry” I probably would have still checked it out.
@@thatguy4996 a nat 20 stealth check
@@AclockworkPurple Natural 20? Okay. You... wash the shit out of that laundry. It is SO clean. Those are some of the softest robes you have ever held and part of you is a little sad that you're not a wizard who would benefit from wearing them, but... those are definitely some nice robes now.
Of course, Laura "harp music" Bailey was magnificent ; but Mary Elizabeth was a beautiful surprise ; I didn't expect her to pop up here, and she was wonderful.
I had the pleasure of meeting Mary in 2019 and she was a doll! Shes so talented and wonderful
Fuck me Laura was beyond words, wow
Well there’s a reason she did all those songs for Silent Hill (at least I think those were the games she sung the songs for)
She is a terrific singer! She does a lot of the music vocals for the silent hill games and her voice is beyond ethereal
Also, she regularly sings with a band (includes other voice actor/singers)
Marisha with the backup singers is why she's the creative director.
Argh! Matt stopped short of the "da-da-da-da-daaaa" bit! I feel so denied!
Same!!!!
this comment is underrated
SAME. Like NOOO you’re this CLOSE. Finish it!
Right!
Of course, Laura makes me cry, immediately followed by Travis making me laugh. I love every one of these people sincerely.
When I get in contact with Laura, I’d like her to give me a taste of her singing.
Any chance of Ashley's next character playing a bard? I understand Scanlan is the bard we deserved, but Ashley's bard may be the bard the world needs.
It's be awesome seeing Ashley play a "face" type character.
YESSS
i hope so much that with the harp she got a bit ago inspires her to multiclass as a bard, that would be so amazing, Yasha the BARDbarian, singing while slashing
*GASP*
@@FlnkR she considered it but her charisma was too low
Holy shit Laura was that a legit audition tape for Eliza? She really sold me on her performance here.
You like this, look up WoW Jaina's song!
@cak01vej But its still a good song where we get to witness her professionally singing.
Gwendall Grey I created a character for WoW who was disillusioned by the horrific actions of Jaina Proudmoore. But after he meets with her after quite a few years and forgives her, he recommends altering the song “Daughter of the Sea”, as it made her sound like a bad person.
She would make a GREAT Eliza!!
Travis right after Laura's heartwrenching performance gave me emotional whiplash but damn they're all SO GOOD!!!!
God damn Johnson & Bailey be making me teary eyed...
I get teary when I listen to Thomas the Tank Engine singing “Sometimes You Make a Friend”. I’d get teary still if the song was instead sung by Jaina Proudmoore.
Everybody: OK, Imma sing on my own, nice and cozay...
Marisha Ray: Boiz, I wish for backup.
Dream CR casting:
Liam - Hamilton
Laura - Eliza
Mary - Angelica
Ashley- Burr
Sam - Jefferson/ Lafeyette (i NEED Sam's French Accent)
Travis - Washington
Marisha - Hercules Mulligan
Matt - King George and every ensemble cast at once
Talesin - Lauren's/Phillip
Will Friedle - Sebastian Seaberry
Brian Forester - Bullet/Death
Dani - everyone's understudy
Damn, this is perfect!
It's a nice idea, but imo a significant part of Hamilton is the colour of the cast, a lot would be lost if everyone was white, even if these guys were the lineup.
BoomToll Yes for the Broadway and touring versions, but for fun, this would work
@@nines3048 I don't think a lot would be lost if the cast were white. I appreciate what Lin-Manuel Miranda did in casting a lot of people of color to show what the States has become and forward thinking for the nation, but most of the historic characters being portrayed were white so I don't think it would hurt the performance to cast it as such. It's not white washing a cast if the characters were historically white to start with.
@@PBCjimbo but that's the point, the tagline is 'the story of America then, told by America now'. Its not whitewashing history, no, but its whitewashing Hamilton.
Suddenly, Thomas Jefferson is much scarier with Sam's facial expressions. Props to him.
Also Travis gives off such happy dad vibes i cant mentally process this joy im experiencing from the cannon noises
Travis wasn't even a dad yet when these were filmed. I don't even think Laura was pregnant yet.
Yeah it says in the description these are from 2017 so there was no baby yet. Well, it depends when in 2017 I guess. Cause Ronin was born in June 2018 (I know that because he's a month older than my niece)
Now he is
Matt singing as long George was the best thing ever. They are all so good.
They are soooo good, and they don't have any music!!!
Long George is my favorite pirate from Hamilton
For some reason, I was secretly hoping he would slip some Pumat in... These voice actors deserve to be more well known. They have great chemistry and play well off each other on Critical Role...
HE SANG IT SO WELL!!!!!!
I so wanted to hear him doing the "da-da-da-da" part of the song
Laura is a perfect human being
Literally the best
I’d love to share my WoW story with her.
*spoiler*
I feel like Matt's song fits one of the Gods mocking the Artagan now he's become and is now regretting being a God.
Brilliant take.
So. What comes next? You succeed. Do you know how hard it is to be a diety? Prayers rise, followers fall! It's much harder when it's all your call. When your people say it's a cult. Dont say that it's my fault. La da da da da. Da da di ia ah.
But Artagan hates theater.
Omg yesssss
Either that or other Archfeys being like "Hah! You thought you were clever, going to the material plane? Good luck with the belief, sucker!... ALSO, YOUR DRAWINGS ARE UGLY!"
@@kevinhall9429 man that makes it even better!
Sam Riegel: good
Sam Riegel singing: gooder
Sam Riegel singing Hamilton as the founder of his alumnus university: goodest
Sam Riegel singing Hamilton as the founder of his alumnus university as the guy from Creed: goodn’t
Colin Deal yeah I realize that now. I don’t have an alma mater clearly, and I couldn’t remember a term that otherwise doesn’t mean much to me personally 👍🏻
I still can’t believe Matthew Mercer is both a Mcree and Jotaro.
Forgot Levi
McCree, Jotaro, Levi, Hit, Chrom and a few others I'm probably missing
And Levi Ackerman
When you reflect on each of the songs they chose... it kinda fits each one of them... PERFECTLY.
Top Table vs Bottom table energy at its finest
you mean them as humans or their characters? And do you mean Vox Machina or Meighty Nine?
Putting anyone after Ashley was really just unfair.
This can be read as both, a compliment or a joke to her judging by her parts in Narrative Telephone
Dunno, Laura definitely lived up to the bar set.
Laura is definitely on the level.
Agreed. She not only has the control of an absolute pro, she has a _beautiful_ tone.
I think that Laura matched in beauty and character, but the others are skilled they just used different styles that dont resonate with most people as well
It goes from Ashley with her carefully set up camera to Matthew in his car...I love it😂
Why is this my favorite Critical Role thing ever?? I want a critical role Christmas album now
I'd be into that, but it would be a "Holiday" album no doubt, since they are inclusive and the cast itself has people of various faiths anyway.
As long as Sam still sings like Stapp from Creed. 😁
I think you mean Critmas Album lmao
Travis is a lucky man. That's all I'm saying.
Laura's also a very lucky woman.
The way they look at each other.. they both know how lucky they are!
@@charleehildebrand948 Relationship goals
Larra Baily really had me thinking “did Travis do something.”
Been a Critter for years, but finally watched Hamilton. THIS IS GOLD
I figured with it coming out on Disney+ the videos needed to resurface for the new bloods! :D
Oh geez, then you need to go and listen to the Critical Role version of Hamiltion! Vox Machina: An Exandrian Musical
I wish Liam let his New Jersey out like this more often
side note: he grew up across the street from where Hamillton was shot
I was thinking the same thing when he started.
There's a Vox Machina Hamilton album that needs to be sung...
As in having the CritRole cast perform the album by the Cantata Pansophical? That would be pretty cool.
There's a full fan album that's pretty good.
@@Unh0ly0neI was probably a little too vague. I meant the cast sing that.
@@Octy_in_Boots Or a few of the songs. I'd vote Laura to take That Would Be Enough. Matt to take You'll Be Mine. Marisha for Burn. Taliesin for Animus. Sam for Dear Kaylie. And of course... All for Party Called Vox Machina.
they're not only all attractive, they're charismatic, funny, great actors, great voice actors and great singers, well fuck me
Yeah, life is not fair sometimes, but I'm sure they had their struggles, and as talented as they may seem, I think it's wrong to dismiss any hard work they probably put in..
I used to tell my sister that she's just good at everything, then she told me no, she just works at everything she wants to be good at
Either way, you are not wrong they are an incredible group of people 😀
i lost it when travis went: "BOOM BOOM BOOM" lmaooooo
Ashley gave me goosebumps, Matt blew me away, Laura had me in tears but Sam. Sam has me WHEEZING.
Laura, Ashley...AMAZING! PERFECTION!But I actually got chills when Mary Elizabeth started singing. Wow...just...wow.
I'm suddenly imagining a PC revolution against DM Matt and his song being the outcome.
It’s what Trent will sing once m9 will a revolution against the Cerberus assembly
I love that it’s Ashley singing that particular song. It resonates so much with what I know about Yasha and Ellie.
It’s nice to hear Mustang rap again.
P.S. Liam’s bit was a precursor to him battling Sam for the DND Beyond Presidency
I would donate to a kickstarter asking for Ashley Johnson and Laura Bailey to cover the entire Hamilton soundtrack
There was also that time Liam quoted hamilton during the d&d beyond presidential campaign "Sometimes I wonder why I even bring the thunder..."
Can we talk about Laura *harp noise* Bailey literally slaying the game and crying, Marisha with the choreography, Ashley with the raw talent along with the others and then Sam... 😂
Marisha/Liam as Hamilton
Laura as Eliza
Ashley as Burr
Travis as Washington
Mary Elizabeth as Laurens
Matt as King George
Sam as Jefferson
What a cast that would be
Legend's Warble the sheer chaotic energy that would be
@cak01vej She added the school house rock version of the constitution at the end
Edit: I'm pretty sure it was the preamble actually, but it's been like 4 years since I sang it so I don't totally remember what it's called.
You are correct. It’s the preamble to the US Constitution. Jefferson didn’t mean to make it rhyme, but his natural flourish made it happen anyway.
Good to know she added it as a flourish herself. That was such a brilliant callback.
Travis as Cannons
I might cast Marisha as Laurens/Phillip and MEM as Angelica
How are these people so talented??? Is there actually something they can’t do?
They're voice actors so it makes sense that part of their voice training is learning to sing.
Go a campaign without losing a player character. ;)
@@kieranmarshall5601 Too.... Soon? I think, lol.

@@Lowkey-Loki Math.. They can't do math..
Everyone was amazing, but Laura literally had me in tears. I really appreciate how much FEELING she puts into absolutely everything she does.
Love the little Schoolhouse Rock addition Mary Elizabeth McGlynn added
It’s such a shame that pretty much every word of it has been destroyed since it was written.
Kudos to the editor, the emotions run wonderfully through the whole thing, but Mary comes along at the end and just shatters me.
Love them all so much, but Dammit Mary Elizabeth, the charm spell is permanent.
Love You're Not Here!
Damn.... Damn, just damn. Was anyone gonna tell me that Travis & (honestly) Marisha could rap like that?
I just loved how Laura, Ashley, Marisha and Liam just made it seem like they were talking when singing. It sounded, felt and looked amazing!!
My gracious, Mary's quick transition to the french accent and back was flawless! Caught me so off guard
Laura Bailey y'know casually crying on command while singing and still sounding Tony-worthy
Maaaaan, Ashley and Laura are both so amazing.
Thank you so much for compiling this video!
I just have to say the song Ashley is singing is quite low for the average woman's voice, so I applaud her for singing that so effortlessly. She has such a nice tone.
I honestly think that people with talents like these, naturally seek each other out, exchanging ideas with a glance and whole stories with but a single word.
The world is a much brighter place with them in it! Thank you CR, I've been playing d&d since 1976 and it took you saints and sinners, to really teach me the power of the game to shape a person's psyche. I love you guys and cant wait for the series!
It’s almost like they end up in the same work place? What a crazy idea that they meet!
Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.
-Eleanor Roosevelt
Kinda what you're going for.
They've opened up my world so much and I'm so grateful 🙏
Can we discuss how PERFECT Mary's performance was?! They all rock, let's be honest, but my GOODNESS MARY.
I remember when I met her I complimented You're Not Here.
DUDE MATT THIS IS NOT FAIR THE GUY CAN DO EVERYTHING UGH SAVE SOME TALENT FOR THE REST OF US
They all have amazing singing voices!! Thank you!!
Glad to get the non-twitter folks exposed to them!

Laura, singing Burn.
Me, fighting back tears: Nice...
Holy cow! Mary Elizabeth McGlynn blew it out of the water! Everyone is so talented and I love it.
Anyone else keep forgetting there professional decorated voice actors. So OF COURSE they sing like angels.
Clearly Travis was just very happy that day.
From myself and all the Twitterless Critters: Thank You!!
Twitterless Critters Unite!
..... But how? XD
Laura Bailey (harp music) singing Burn legit made me cry. That didn’t even happen when I watched Hamilton.
Ashley: The World Was Wide Enough
Matt: You'll Be Back
Laura: Burn
Travis: Right Hand Man
Marisha's: Right Hand Man (FIRST MATE VIBES)
Sam?: What Did I Miss
Liam: CABINET BATTLE 1 (Hamilton's line)
(Ashamed to not know her name): The Story of Tonight
Mary is her name
Mary ELizabeth McGlynn, she is notably the one who sung the songs for (at least) the first Silent Hill
Marisha sang part of Yorktown
i am once again blown away by the absolute BEAUTY of laura bailey
Each of them singing in their personalities just sends me.
Really loved Ashley’s song.
If I didn't love this family enough before... They just took my heart completely. I'm so proud to be a Critter right now.
My god. Ashley.

just picturing Liam's kids in the background going "ugh dad" 😂😂
Ashley Johnson- your performance haunts me.
I thought, Ashley would sing as King George. The starting frame reminded me of the guy with the hat from arange in acapella.
I was looking for all the times the cast referenced Hamilton during CR but this is just a delight!
Ooh that would be a fun compilation too!
Man, I could fall asleep listening to Ashley sing, her voice is so soothing
Oh boy. Laura’s voice is so angelic and full of passion. Ofc, I already knew this, but this just acts as a reminder in the form of a slap in the face.
These are absolutely beautifully done! Each person picked the perfect song for them to absolutely show off their skills.
Laura brings me to tears every time I watch this
Why isn’t anyone saying anything about Liam?!
Cause Laura took the show and ran away with it. Which is appropriate for her and Liam
Because people knew he'd be great before they even saw him try.
BEST.
It's a good thing this was pre-covid because he'd have infected everyone in the house after that performance (watch on a larger screen if you can't see why). 😊
Liam is awesome.
@Ian Visser Wait that was LIAM???
Love them all, but good grief! Ashley just friggin' blows me away. Amazing.
I love that Travis couldn't even be bothered to pretend to be trying lol
I don't know these songs, But Laura made me swoon. Damn Mercer's perfect car hair.
Just now watching this in 2020. Thank you UA-cam for the suggestion. Mary Elizabeth McGlynn's mashup of Raise a Glass tonight & The Preamble of the Constitution from School House Rock is beautiful and sorta timely at this time in our lives. Thank you Internet I guess.
man I love Laura Bailey she's painfully gorgeous always had a crush on her, she has a beautiful voice
Alright I’m already crying and I’m like 30 seconds into Ashley’s part
Update: I got to Laura and I -
TL;DR: I think my favorite is Ashley
Rant: All of these are fantastic, but I think my favorite has to be Ashley (with Laura in a close second). Now, I knew that she’s a good actress. I know that she can sing really well, none of those things necessarily surprised me. What did surprise me is her apparent understanding of the character and how quickly she conveyed that understanding. It took her two lines
“I strike him right between his ribs.
I walk towards him, but I am ushered away” and I was fully convinced that she fully understood the complex emotion behind Burrs character in this song. So for singing well and acting through the singing, I think that Ashley’s is the best.
Oh my gosh. I didn’t know I needed this in my life but NOW I KNOW AND I AM LOVING IT.
matt mercer singing you'll be back hits different over all the dnd campaigns darkest moments
Mary just throwing School House Rock up in there.. I see you! 💕🤣
mary's voice is so fucking soothing what the actual hell??????
