Missing the bit from the Campaign 1 wrap-up interview when the cast is all listing off their favorite moments and Marisha remarks that they feel like real memories, and Matt points out that they really are real memories and experiences. That’s one of my favorite things about these kinds of role-playing games; even though the events only exist in your mind and on paper, the events and interactions are still things you can experience and remember as if they were real because you’re playing the characters and creating the story yourself.
Such a great compilation! In some comment I once read it said: "When Matt cries, I cry." This is 100% true. Thanks for bringing all those wonderfully emotional moments together!

This was gorgeously, lovingly made and absolutely captures what makes this group of people so special: their love for each other, their joy in storycrafting, held together by the mutual respect and and trust they share (along with a healthy dose of humor and heart). Thanks for such a fantastic reminder. :)
You can see the toll Covid had on Matt, it might be dumb, but he looked much older in that C2 monologue than he does now. It's like these 2 Covid years took a LOT from everyone. Glad he managed to recover so well. I'm personally still recovering, as Covid basically cost me my 3 + years relationship (I'm from Canada, and I was with someone who lived just across the border, and we couldn't see each other for over a year because of the border restrictions, and unfortunately were unable to recover). Good things are coming, to me, and everyone out there struggling right now. Struggle isn't permanent, just keep your head up as much as you can, and you'll make it :)
Ima borrow a quote from a song I really like [Bad Life (feat. Bring Me The Horizon)] : Well I know that you're afraid, things will always be this way (but) It's just a bad day, not a bad life
No! I am not crying! These are just salty drops coming from my eyes… Girl! You made me smile, laugh, cry. I felt seen and loved! This video was made with love. ❤️
Thank you so much for this comment, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I put a lot of time into making this video and don't expect many people to see it, but this comment alone just made all the time I put into making it worth it so thank you ❤
Damn that was cathartic. I've never felt so fullfilled as when the end of the campaigns happen and you hear about the characters lives beyond the story that you grew to love them in. Just watching this brings all the memories back.
I have watched each c1 and c2 three times and it is beautiful seeing the amazing things that are missed but you catch after watching it multiple times. I am convinced that these guys are some of the greatest actors of this generation and I am so grateful for their dedication to their craft
i really hope everyone at CR sees this I LOVE this, as someone who's only seen bits and pieces from C1 and C2 (and from both the beginning episodes) and really got into it with C3, this is so wholesome. They inspired me to start DMing myself and i can only hope to be deliver moments like that to my players.
I don't know what makes Matt's speech at the end of C2 more beautifully heartbreaking; the speech itself, the way he looks directly at his wife and she just nods to him and he almost breaks, or Travis's quiet little "let's do it again." These people have done something monumental, and I just hope they know how loved and appreciated they are for their storytelling, their characters, their worlds, just...everything. Their friendships are like none other. Liam's speech on storytelling and how we're reflecting it back on ourselves could not have been more perfectly stated. The emotions they evoke in us and in themselves and in each other are so raw and real it's insane. The moment with the entire crowd singing the theme song and all of their live on stage sessions are just glimpses into how much this show means to people, including them, and it shows. Their love for each other is unmatched. As a fairly new Critter, getting to know all the inside jokes like "Makin my way" is so awesome. Sam used the perfect word to describe Critical Role as a whole; Magic.
"Imagine if Matt Mercer was your first Dungeon Master ever" ... I know I'm not playing the campaign but Critical Role got me into D&D so technically he was and so far no one has reached his bar xD Also when Matt was asked about how he'll feel when he says goodbye to the camera that last time... I immediately started to tear up and i'm only on episode 64 of C1, I've got SO LONG to go but I can't picture Critical Role ever stopping.
"so far no one has reached his bar xD" I know it's tempting to do this. Trust me, I suffer from the temptation myself. But please don't compare other DM's to Matt. It's very unfair to both other DM's and Matt himself. Every DM is different. Every DM has their own style. And Matt Mercer is one of the best of the best and has an unbelievable amount of talent backed up by ALOT of support (professional support, I might add). I don't know if this comparison will get this comment removed or not, but I have always likened CR and D20 and other actual plays to porn. They are the porn of TTRPG's. They are an...unrealistic level of perfection which makes a poor experience in the real world look truly awful, but struggles (even with as amazing as they all are) to convey the sheer depth of the kind of experience it is when you get a good one. But it take time for that to become real. And it won't seem as good at first. But as it grows and you learn your group, it becomes SO SO SO much better. So please. Don't go into a TTRPG session expecting a Matt for a DM and don't expect CR results from a campaign. Session Zero's are a vital tool to ensuring that everyone has a good idea of where and how the game will work. Use them. Consent checklists are great for online play too! I highly recommend them if you're just getting to know the players/DM's you're playing with. This lets you know what is and isn't okay to explore. And most importantly, have fun! Enjoy the time you spend with friends, or friends-to-be. If you read this whole thing, thank you and I hope you have heaps of fun in the coming years. And if you ever need someone to bounce ideas off of, hit me up!
Just watching this group of friends laugh and cry together is just so fun to watch. I've only sparingly played dnd, but I think everyone would love to have the dynamic of these friends. Im glad that they have no plans of stopping anytime soon
i just like 2 months into DND, and not even playing it, it was just started with me bored in my room while i dont have anything to watch. i found this show "legend of vox machina", 4 eps in and i was like "huh... very interesting show" youtube logarithm lead me to this channel critical role. straight up watching C3 just because i wanted to up to date. i was quickly hooked and watch it everyday. and then sam sponsor bit of nord vpn comes. "i have a group of best friends that plays a silly fantasy games together and turned into a business but really its just an excuse for us to keep hanging out forever" this. literally this moment i realise. is a very special show.
Extremely well done. You even did your best editing around problems! I know this video probably will make its way (making its way!) around the cast, because it's just that good of a reminder of the good they bring to each other, the community, and the world as a whole.
at 4:00, one thing i like to say about that, is that here you see sam talking about how the reason for him liking the game so much was matt, in matt's interview, talking about the beginning matt says that he didnt know why someone like sam wanted to continue playing, like he didnt understand what was making sam go back. i dont know why but i always liked that interaction, is actually a shame that we dont have access to the between the sheets videos
These friends give me so much comfort and hope for myself and everyone else too. They’re my friends when I’m alone. I can always count on watching them to cheer me up. I hope they all know how much their friendships mean to everyone who gets to see it.
I found Critical Role at episode 10 Campaign 1, I watched all of Campaign 1 6 times and Campaign 2 twice. This show has helped me endure some incredibly hard times. I think their friendships are something for all of us to strive for in our own lives. Thanks for Posting this video. HUGS to all :)
echoing everyone here, this video really fucking nails it! i know catching up is hard but I think it’s so worthwhile to watch (even just in part) if you liked everything you saw in this video
10:40 I burst into tears. I can hear mine & my friends voices. That was the best night. I miss the Gencon show so much. It had become tradition for our group.
Matthew Mercer, you and your crew introduced dungeons and dragons to more people than probably anyone before that. Each and every week you, and your friends of nerdy voice actors, create magic for us people in the real world. It may not be as overt as Caleb Widogast's fiery web or Chetneys charm, but every week you allow us to escape to the world of Exandria for a few hours and captivate us with your story telling. Thank you for what you all do and keep it up!
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL VIDEO! After nerding S1&2 i missed out on S3 after the first 3-4 Sessions! This video reminded me why i fell in love with these guys in the first place! Since i am having a really, really rough time atm this helped me to reignite a passion i deemed lost! Tyvm! I will start over with my favorite bunch ofnerds rolling dice and playing dungeons and dragons!
The worst part about this kind of video is that it is never up to date... Because the moments that make me fall in love with CR over and over again appear every new episode...
The amount of feels I get from every second of this video, man! Flawlessly edited, thank you for making this ❤ you put a lot of love into it and that shows!
This is such a well made video. There are some videos, shows, and movies that just give you a deep sense of nostalgia that you just want to keep watching again and again, and congratulations this is one of them. It made me reach out to my D&D group and let them know how much I care about them. Thank you.
Some of my favorite moments: 1) "The leetle bloo tiefling is here to see you, ROO-BY!" "What?" ~ Jester to her mother, Marion, C2 2) "I sprinkle the cupcake with...the Dust of Deliciousness." ~ Jester, "The Cupcake Deception," C2 3) "I was holding on to that one for a long time. Eight years in the making." ~ Matt, after the table finds out it was Keyleth's mother Vilya on Rumblecusp, who had disappeared for 25 years, C2 4) "I rolled a dragon!?" ~ Ashley Johnson, after rolling for "Travel Events," C2 5) "I summoned this bitch, we're gonna end her!" ~ Ashley Johnson, fighting Gelidon, C2 6) "Welcome to the Mighty Nein." ~ Veth Brenatto to Essek, aboard the _Ball-Eater,_ C2 7) Percy reciting the list of family names to Desmond, C1 8) "What is my mother's name?!" ~ Scalan Shorthalt, C1 9) "Vox Machina, Fuck...SHIT...UP!" ~ Grog Strongjaw, C1 10) "Your secret is safe with my indifference." ~ Percy de Rollo, C1 11) "I could say 'turducken,' and you people would turn it into sexual innuendo!" ~ Liam O'Brien to Gen Con audience, C1 live-show 12) "I have passed through fire." ~ Keyleth, Voice of the Tempest, C1 13) "I've been angry for 30 years." ~ Keyleth, C3, to Orym 14) "Don't you even _dare."_ ~ Vax, to Otohan Thull, C3 15) "For... STRONGJAW!" ~ Grog Strongjaw, during "Airdrop Critical Finisher", C1 16) Percy's Resurrection, C1 17) "Is that...my baby girl? Is that my baby girl? _Is that my baby girl!?"_ ~ Scanlan Shorthalt, Ascension of Entropis, C1 18) "Pain doesnt make people. It's love that makes people. The pain is inconsequential. It's love that saves them." ~ Caduceus Clay, C2 19) "Sam! What the fuck!?" ~ Matt Mercer, upon Sam's jerrycan reveal, C3 20) Matt's campaign-ending monologue, Ep. 141, C2 Honorable Mention: "All right, what level do you Counterspell?" "Nine." ~ Scanlan Shorthalt, the moment he played to both outwit and defeat not one but two gods, and failed, C1
I can't watch the level 9 counterspell without tearing up. Even if it's just the "I counterspell" " at what level" "level 9" I don't need to see it, just those three lines and it gets me.
18:25 Is Matt wearing a Baldur's Gate t-shirt? I wonder if that was from 3, or one of the earlier ones. If it was 3, that would have been really early in development, considering that was campaign 1, which ended in 2017.

This is a truly beautiful and heartwarming compilation - and so lovely to re-live and re-experience all those powerful, uplifting, emotional, hilarious moments we have all been so fortunate to share with the wonderful cast of CR. Thank you!
Even though I'm currently powering through campaign one (I'm like close to episode 40 i believe) i absolutely LOVE watching moments from C2 and C3 as well even if I've yet to see them. This crew is just so lovely and i adore listening/watching episodes while i eat or crochet
This was beautifully made, I love all the moments you picked and it made my heart melt, made me laugh, made me cry. I am so glad I found this community and this show.
Yup I knew this would be good when I, a grown ass man, was bawling my eyes out within the first thirty seconds! I will never forget the night I discovered CR; I went from knowing absolutely nothing about D&D and clicking on the D&Diesel video fully expecting to laugh at Vin Diesel desperately trying to promote his shitty budget fantasy movie. And by the end I'd basically forgotten that Vin Diesel was even there, completely enthralled by Matt's story and I instantly went looking for more. Spent the entire night watching random C1 episodes and moments, trying to figure out what was going on, completely obsessed; and I vividly remember crying together with the cast over a character, that I at that point literally knew NOTHING about, that had died. And that was when I knew I had found something truly special. Few months later C2 started and I've watched EVERY episode since. I'm hitting my 5 year subscriber aniversary in January and I only wish I could have given more back to these amazing people and community that has given me so much joy! Thank you so much for letting me relive some of the incredible feelings I felt that night and so many times again through the years. You really managed to capture so many of the aspects of the experience that makes Critical Role so incredibly special to me and I already know I'm going to come back to this one many times!
So I never really watched crirical role. Ive seen clips, interviews, and compilations of these guys, but never like a full episode. My favorite thing about this is the genuine love and care this group has for each other
Marisha laughing in the bsckgrounds, and Travis shouting. That is the energy he will miss when he says goodbye for the last time. It was so fitting. 18:35

I agree but he made that beard look goooooood

Ima borrow a quote from a song I really like [Bad Life (feat. Bring Me The Horizon)] :
Well I know that you're afraid, things will always be this way
(but)
It's just a bad day, not a bad life
I don't disagree that it had an impact on him, but that specific game was a 7 hour game
@@MatthewStMarie he was like this for dozens of episodes at the end of C2 though
After the kiss, when they expected Matt to describe it, lol, he should have said, “How do you want to do this!”, to them. 😂
No! I am not crying! These are just salty drops coming from my eyes…
Girl! You made me smile, laugh, cry. I felt seen and loved! This video was made with love. ❤️
Thank you so much for this comment, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I put a lot of time into making this video and don't expect many people to see it, but this comment alone just made all the time I put into making it worth it so thank you ❤
Onion chopping ninjas just appear in CR, I've been attacked multiple times.
@@critroleclipsandeditsWell… It’s nearly 250000 views “not many people”? I love your video. Gives me a warm feeling. Very good work. 😘😘😘👏👏👏
Damn that was cathartic. I've never felt so fullfilled as when the end of the campaigns happen and you hear about the characters lives beyond the story that you grew to love them in.
Just watching this brings all the memories back.
Laura did a call back to the bug carrying bread in campaign 3.
During the kissing scene I heard Matt say, “Finish your scene.” What I felt was, “The internet is waiting!!!!”
I just cry every time they love on eachother and the community loves on them 😭😭😭 it’s so beautiful they are just pure people
I have watched each c1 and c2 three times and it is beautiful seeing the amazing things that are missed but you catch after watching it multiple times. I am convinced that these guys are some of the greatest actors of this generation and I am so grateful for their dedication to their craft
I am convinced these are the best humans the planet has to offer. This is our pinnacle of humanity currently.
i really hope everyone at CR sees this
I LOVE this, as someone who's only seen bits and pieces from C1 and C2 (and from both the beginning episodes) and really got into it with C3, this is so wholesome.
I know I'm not playing the campaign but Critical Role got me into D&D so technically he was and so far no one has reached his bar xD
Also when Matt was asked about how he'll feel when he says goodbye to the camera that last time... I immediately started to tear up and i'm only on episode 64 of C1, I've got SO LONG to go but I can't picture Critical Role ever stopping.
Oooh, enjoy your journey ❤️
"so far no one has reached his bar xD"
I know it's tempting to do this.
I just found these guys a few days ago and it's been some of the best days i've had in years... 💕😊
Just watching this group of friends laugh and cry together is just so fun to watch. I've only sparingly played dnd, but I think everyone would love to have the dynamic of these friends. Im glad that they have no plans of stopping anytime soon
i just like 2 months into DND, and not even playing it, it was just started with me bored in my room while i dont have anything to watch.
i found this show "legend of vox machina", 4 eps in and i was like "huh... very interesting show"
youtube logarithm lead me to this channel critical role.
straight up watching C3 just because i wanted to up to date.
i was quickly hooked and watch it everyday.
and then sam sponsor bit of nord vpn comes.
"i have a group of best friends that plays a silly fantasy games together and turned into a business but really its just an excuse for us to keep hanging out forever"
this.
literally this moment i realise.
is a very special show.
1:34 - HUG ME THROUGH MY WIFE! Love that bit!
The way that in the last clip Liam seems to almost collapse at the very end is heartbreaking.
0:40 that nod. These two are couple goals
Extremely well done. You even did your best editing around problems! I know this video probably will make its way (making its way!) around the cast, because it's just that good of a reminder of the good they bring to each other, the community, and the world as a whole.
I love how this video essentially is the first upload after 4 years on this channel, thank you for making it :)
at 4:00, one thing i like to say about that, is that here you see sam talking about how the reason for him liking the game so much was matt, in matt's interview, talking about the beginning matt says that he didnt know why someone like sam wanted to continue playing, like he didnt understand what was making sam go back. i dont know why but i always liked that interaction, is actually a shame that we dont have access to the between the sheets videos
To all of you guys, if you haven't already, I hope you find your own Critical role family. Don't forget to love each other ❤
These friends give me so much comfort and hope for myself and everyone else too.
This is so well made ❤
echoing everyone here, this video really fucking nails it! i know catching up is hard but I think it’s so worthwhile to watch (even just in part) if you liked everything you saw in this video
10:40 I burst into tears. I can hear mine & my friends voices. That was the best night. I miss the Gencon show so much. It had become tradition for our group.
FUCKING SAM DRESSED AS A TIGER DURING THE IMODNA KISS
Matthew Mercer, you and your crew introduced dungeons and dragons to more people than probably anyone before that. Each and every week you, and your friends of nerdy voice actors, create magic for us people in the real world. It may not be as overt as Caleb Widogast's fiery web or Chetneys charm, but every week you allow us to escape to the world of Exandria for a few hours and captivate us with your story telling. Thank you for what you all do and keep it up!
what a beautiful, heartwarming compilation, thank you for making this
11:59 this hits it perfectly, the way RP gaming makes the experience REAL and builds relationships...
Woof. Did not expect to cry and laugh and cry again, so happy to have watched this family grow over the years. So happy to be a Critter ❤🔥
This whole thing brought some much-needed joy into my life. Thank you for this.
I love went Matt just watches everyone like hold up this is better than I had planned let me get my 🍿 9:40
This is cut together so beautifully! Thanks for sharing I think it's gotten me back into campaign 3
++++
The amount of feels I get from every second of this video, man! Flawlessly edited, thank you for making this ❤ you put a lot of love into it and that shows!
Oh man the Mighty Nein monologue always hits me so hard! I remember watching it live and I felt like my heart was being torn to shreds 😭
This is such a well made video. There are some videos, shows, and movies that just give you a deep sense of nostalgia that you just want to keep watching again and again, and congratulations this is one of them. It made me reach out to my D&D group and let them know how much I care about them. Thank you.
This was very well made. Lovely vid.
Thank you! :)
Some of my favorite moments:
1) "The leetle bloo tiefling is here to see you, ROO-BY!" "What?" ~ Jester to her mother, Marion, C2
2) "I sprinkle the cupcake with...the Dust of Deliciousness." ~ Jester, "The Cupcake Deception," C2

4) "I rolled a dragon!?" ~ Ashley Johnson, after rolling for "Travel Events," C2
5) "I summoned this bitch, we're gonna end her!" ~ Ashley Johnson, fighting Gelidon, C2

20) Matt's campaign-ending monologue, Ep. 141, C2
Honorable Mention: "All right, what level do you Counterspell?" "Nine." ~ Scanlan Shorthalt, the moment he played to both outwit and defeat not one but two gods, and failed, C1
I can't watch the level 9 counterspell without tearing up. Even if it's just the "I counterspell" " at what level" "level 9" I don't need to see it, just those three lines and it gets me.
this makes me so happy, thank you for making and sharing ❤️❤️
Everyone loves Matt. He's amazing and honestly has placed the bar really really high for DM's.
this is so beautifully made, thank you!
18:25 Is Matt wearing a Baldur's Gate t-shirt? I wonder if that was from 3, or one of the earlier ones. If it was 3, that would have been really early in development, considering that was campaign 1, which ended in 2017.
This is amazing. Thank you so so much for making this🥲
The clips, the pacing and the ambiance is amazing!
I hope this reaches the cast and more critters!
This is a truly beautiful and heartwarming compilation - and so lovely to re-live and re-experience all those powerful, uplifting, emotional, hilarious moments we have all been so fortunate to share with the wonderful cast of CR. Thank you!
One of the most beautiful recaps of what it is critical role. Thanks
This was the push I needed. Staring CR now. Thank you!
4:50 I get mad chills from this moment every time..
Ashley's face at 5:00 was definitely my face while I was listening at work. I'm a guy. I work in a restaurant. It was dramatic 😂
Very well done. Great moments and lovely editing. Thank you.
My favorite thing about this is the genuine love and care this group has for each other
Marisha's high-pitched sudden explosive giggle never fails to make me laugh lmao
That is a smooth compilation, thank you.
Thanks so much for putting this together anazing video
This was a beautifully put together and edited video! Thank you for this ❤
Marisha laughing in the bsckgrounds, and Travis shouting. That is the energy he will miss when he says goodbye for the last time. It was so fitting. 18:35
This was incredible thank you for making this.
The editing on this is phenomenal. Had me in tears multiple times. Well done ❤
This is a really good compilation. Thank you for posting it!
i love the skyrim music over shiver and queef
Thank you for putting this together, you did such a fantastic job. What a fitting homage to this cast of weird, wonderful misfits who created this amazing thing.
This was a very well put togeter video. Thank you for putting it together.
Amazingly built compilation! Tears throughout. My only wish for some of these is to see the blueberry cupcake more.
Thank you for making this video!
Bro you got me tearing up at noon
You did such a good job putting this together! It's so sweet and wonderful and all the things that are great about the show.
