Hearsay is when it comes from a third party. This person is here and it was told directly to him. We have a landlord tenancy board to fight disputes and claims.
Hearsay can coke from a primary party. You can do hearsay on yourself, even, by saying what you told someone. You can also have hearsay within hearsay (the Kato Kalik situation, where thebwitness explains what he said to someone else). There are more exceptions for civil proceedings than for criminal proceedings because the exceptions to hearsay apply to *parties* and there are no parties in a criminal trial.

She *is* a fool. A statement can be both hearsay and not true at the same time. I get the impression that the only people who think she's wise are those who lack the capacity to know what wisdom is. Don't be easily impressed.
